Rebirth in the 80s: Old Mrs. Tao, Abandoned Son, Dotes on Daughter to Become the Richest Woman

Old Mrs. Tao was cowardly and troublesome. After her husband died in middle age, she raised three ungrateful sons, helping them get married and have children. In her old age, no one took care of he...

Chapter One: Reborn as Aunt Tao

"Mom, how much compensation will Dad get this time? Can Dad give his job to Xiaoxia?" Tao Ying felt a throbbing pain in her forehead, and she could hear a cacophony of voices in her ears.

Before the memories in my mind could be processed, a cold voice came from the side, "Mom, let Dad use the compensation money this time to buy a house for me and Shuangfeng. The dormitory at my workplace is too bad. Shuangfeng and I plan to move out."

"Mom, I don't care, you have to save it for my college education!" a hoarse voice yelled.

There was also a faint sobbing sound nearby, which contrasted sharply with the noisy sounds around them.

"Mom, even though Dad is gone, we still have to live..." a slightly harsh voice rang out.

"Mom, give me an answer..."

"Mom, did you hear what I said?..."

"mom……"

"mom……"

"Shut up, all of you and get out!" Tao Ying roared angrily, her bloodshot eyes glaring at the crowd before her.

"Mom?..." Wang Baojun was startled and called out tentatively. He found it hard to believe that his usually gentle mother would be like this.

"Mom what? Your mom's dead. Get out of here!" Tao Ying grabbed a feather duster from the side and angrily swung it out.

The sons who had been standing nearby were all chosen, and they hurriedly ran out in a flurry.

Only a thirteen-year-old girl with dry, yellow hair and a face full of tears looked at Tao Ying with a look of horror.

Tao Ying exchanged a glance with the little girl, threw down the feather duster, walked back to the bed, and collapsed onto it with a thud.

"Mom, what's wrong?" Wang Chuntao walked over timidly, looking at Tao Ying cautiously.

"You go out first, I'll stay here by myself for a while," Tao Ying said in a low voice, then pulled the blanket over her head. After smelling a sweaty odor, she threw the blanket away in frustration.

Upon seeing this, Wang Chuntao immediately ran out quietly, after all, her mother had even hit her three older brothers.

Hearing the door close, Tao Ying rolled over, staring blankly at the dark ceiling. She really wanted to jump out of the window... No, this was a single-story house; she wouldn't die if she jumped.

I should have quit my job and never worked so hard again. Now I'm dead and deserve a terrible death.

Having lived for thirty-three years without marriage or children, she has suddenly become forty-five-year-old Aunt Tao.

She has three sons and two daughters, and has just become a widow.

But that wasn't the end of it. This body died and was reborn, then died of anger, and to make matters worse, it inherited all of her memories.

She died at the age of seventy, all alone, in a corrugated iron shed on the street, and all three of her sons were wealthy.

Tao Ying stared blankly at the ceiling. This old lady was a person who favored sons over daughters and loved to take advantage of others.

Regardless, she was devoted to her son and gave all the compensation money from the demolition to the three of them.

She was even worse than a stepmother to her two daughters.

The eldest daughter stayed in the countryside after being sent there, and later died there.

"Big daughter!" Tao Ying suddenly sat up in shock, recalling in horror that her eldest daughter seemed to have died the same year her husband passed away, less than a month later.

Originally, Grandma Tao didn't care much about her eldest daughter. The reason she remembered her so clearly was because within a month of her husband's death, her eldest daughter, Wang Chunni, and her granddaughter both died one after the other.

Everyone is saying that they have offended the evil spirits, and if they don't answer correctly, someone in the Wang family will die within a hundred days.

This was in 1980, not long after the ten-year period that had just passed.

While secretly answering the questions, Old Mrs. Tao cursed Wang Chunni, saying that she didn't even choose the right time to die.

I was born to be my own worst enemy.

Tao Ying no longer thinks that way. She has no desire to care about her three ungrateful sons.

But Tao Ying couldn't ignore the mother and daughter who died young.

Grandma Tao is 45 years old this year. Her husband, Wang Dazhu, is considered a semi-married-in son-in-law. The couple has three sons and two daughters. Their eldest daughter, Wang Chunni, is 25 years old. Their eldest son, Wang Baojun, is 24 years old. Wang Baojun was among the first batch of college students after the resumption of the college entrance examination and is now a junior clerk. Their second son, Wang Baomin, is 20 years old and an apprentice at the supply and marketing cooperative's motorcade. Their youngest son, Wang Baoshan, is 17 years old and in his second year of high school. Their youngest daughter, Wang Chuntao, is 13 years old and starting junior high school.

In my memory, Wang Chunni was very sensible from a young age. She started helping Grandma Tao with chores when she was three, started cooking on a stool when she was five, and started taking care of her second son, Baomin, when she was six, followed by Baoshan and Chuntao.

Back when they were sent to the countryside, Wang Baojun needed financial support from his family, but Wang Chunni was able to save food from her own meals and send it home.

However, as a mother, Grandma Tao did not offer Wang Chunni any warmth.

Wang Dazhu is now dead, and he died on the job. Wang Dazhu was an eighth-level fitter, a senior master craftsman at the machine factory. The factory promised to give him a job and a compensation of three thousand yuan, not including funeral expenses and money given to his colleagues as a token of appreciation.

It's impossible for Wang Baomin's future wife, Sun Caixia, to get this job, because in Grandma Tao's memory, Sun Caixia was the one who helped Wang Baomin run his hat factory.

Thinking of this, Tao Ying suddenly stood up and rushed out.

"Mom?" Wang Chuntao was tidying up the yard with her aunt.

Today is the seventh day since Wang Dazhu died. It happens to be the seventh day after death, and the eighth day after death, so the funeral was held at home for two more days before the burial.

The things in the yard hadn't been tidied up yet, so Wang Dazhu's sister-in-law, Li Guiying, along with her daughter-in-law and daughter, helped tidy up.

Although she didn't get along with her sister-in-law, Li Guiying still couldn't keep an eye on the leather goods in the yard out of respect for her deceased brother.

"Where's Chunni? Hasn't Chunni come back yet?" Tao Ying asked with a cold face when she saw everyone looking at her.

"I guess my eldest sister is unwilling to come back because she can't afford the travel expenses," said Zhao Shuangfeng, the eldest daughter-in-law, rolling her eyes in a sarcastic tone.

Tao Ying slapped Zhao Shuangfeng across the face, her dead fish eyes glaring fiercely at her.

"Mom, what are you doing? Why are you hitting Shuangfeng?" Wang Baojun was startled and quickly pulled Zhao Shuangfeng into his arms.

"Wang Baojun, are you dead? You just watch your mother beat me like this? I must have had the worst luck in eight lifetimes to marry you..." Zhao Shuangfeng was stunned by Tao Ying's beating. She only came to her senses when Wang Baojun held her in his arms. She continued to hit Wang Baojun relentlessly.

"What, you want to fight back?" Tao Ying's head ached even more from Zhao Shuangfeng's shrill voice, and she raised her hand to slap Wang Baojun again.

“Your father appeared to me in a dream. Chunni is going to take the child to take care of him.” Tao Ying didn’t want to argue anymore and said it directly.

The moment those words were spoken, the courtyard fell into a deathly silence.

"You three pack your things and come with me to Kaoshantun to see Chunni. Chunni is the most filial. Your father is dead, she can't possibly not come back." As Tao Ying spoke, tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.
