William let out a breath, stood up, and shook hands with Chen Ningsheng: "Mr. Chen, I wish us a pleasant cooperation."

After seeing William off, Chen Ningsheng took the newly signed contract and went back to his room.

Xu Xinchen just said she was tired, but she wasn't entirely lying. Although she arrived in this country yesterday, she didn't sleep well because she's not used to sleeping in unfamiliar beds.

So as soon as he entered the room, the moment his head hit the pillow, he fell into a deep sleep, completely forgetting about William or anything like that.

When Xu Xinchen woke up, it was already dark outside the window. Xu Xinchen rubbed her eyes and turned her head to see Chen Ningsheng sitting there writing furiously under the bright light.

Her hands moved quickly, switching lines every now and then. She didn't know if the characters she wrote were even legible. Xu Xinchen lay half-reclined on the bed, looking at the characters, and suddenly burst out laughing.

Chen Ningsheng was lost in his own thoughts and didn't realize that Xu Xinchen had already woken up. When he heard Xu Xinchen's laughter, he turned around and saw that Xu Xinchen was smiling at him.

"Baby, you're awake?" Chen Ningsheng's eyes lit up. He put down his pen and walked towards Xu Xinchen.

"Hmm, what time is it now? What are you doing over there? You were so engrossed in writing that you didn't even notice I woke up." Xu Xinchen said, straightening her upper body naturally as she did so.

“I’m making notes on things that can be improved in the company.” Chen Ningsheng’s tone sounded very cheerful. “After coming here today, I’ve learned a lot in the company here. I’m thinking of finding some good things and implementing them in the company when I go back to China to see if they have any effect.”

Xu Xinchen nodded after hearing this: "Then be careful and don't overwork yourself."

Chen Ningsheng smiled slightly, then suddenly seemed to remember something, and put his hand on Xu Xinchen's shoulder, pulling her into his arms.

“Baby, William asked me to explain something to you before he left today.”

Chen Ningsheng, unsure of what Xu Xinchen was thinking, waited in vain for her reply, and finally lowered his head.

He turned Xu Xinchen's shoulders so that she was facing him, keeping a close eye on her reactions.

Chen Ningsheng tightened his grip and whispered in Xu Xinchen's ear, "William told me to tell you that the reason he was staring at you like that today is because you look a lot like his ex-wife, who is from the same country as us."

"Ex-wife?" Xu Xinchen was taken aback, and his tightly furrowed brows finally relaxed a little. If it was because she looked a lot like his ex-wife, then it was understandable.

"Yes, that's right, his ex-wife." Chen Ningsheng responded calmly. "William said that his ex-wife divorced him in a moment of impulse after an argument. She went out to clear her head and was accidentally hit and killed by an out-of-control car. She's been feeling extremely regretful about it ever since, so when she saw him today..."

Xu Xinchen was indeed angry because of William's undisguised gaze that afternoon, but now that she understood what that gaze was about, her anger naturally dissipated.
