University student Qin Xiaoyu died with deep regrets, betrayed by a scumbag. Reborn, she finds herself in the body of a 25-year-old young widow with depression and two children, living in the 1980s...
“I’ve had this dog for several years, and I can’t bear to abandon it. Farm dogs aren’t kept carefully, and it would be a real problem if a wolf snatched it. I think this yard is big enough, so I can just tie it to the back wall and give it some food; it won’t freeze to death.” Old Ge felt embarrassed that his whole family had come to bother him, and now he had even brought the dog.
"Erhuang, right? Come on, let's get to know each other. You have an older brother here." A Lei has raised many dogs and knows their habits very well. He reached out and felt that this dog's temperament was similar to Laifu's, and coaxed it into the house.
"No need to bring it inside, just throw it outside, it's dirty..." Old Ge tried to stop him, but it was too late.
Qin Xiaoyu liked A Lei's attitude; he believed in the equality of all beings, and that no matter what they were, there was no distinction between noble and lowly.
"Brother-in-law, there's really no room left. Can we move them to your place first?" Qin Xiaoyu called out to Deng Jianyan as he ran out to help unload the truck.
There are quite a few people living in these four buildings now, and they're all crammed full of belongings. This truckload of stuff isn't really usable, but since people brought it all this way, we can't just throw it away; it would be too much of a hassle. Deng Jianyan's old apartment is still empty, so we might as well move it there for storage.
Upon hearing this, Deng Jianyan nodded hurriedly, went back to get the key, and led them there.
Zhou Xing's mother hurriedly went to instruct them to add more dishes, as these were all guests who had come from afar.
Gang Ge's sister-in-law first pulled two sacks off the car, and now she's dumping them into the house and emptying them out in the kitchen.
Qin Xiaoyu took a look and realized that these were truly delicacies from the mountains. There were more than a dozen kinds of mushrooms, all of which were of the highest quality and had been thoroughly dried.
"This, we'll drink it tonight!" Sister-in-law Ge asked Tang Hu to help bring in a large jar.
"What good stuff is this?" Qin Xiaoyu asked curiously, opening the oil paper seal on the jar. The smell of alcohol almost made her sneeze.
I rubbed my nose and leaned closer to look. The jar contained purple wine with some fruit peels floating on top.
"This is persimmon wine, made every autumn. It's buried in the ground and dug up during the Spring Festival." Sister-in-law Ge said, scooping out some with a spoon. It was crystal clear. Qin Xiaoyu took a sip and found it had a wine aroma, but unlike the bitterness of red wine, it had a sweet and sour taste.
"It's delicious." Qin Xiaoyu suddenly remembered, wasn't this the blueberry that had become so legendary?
"It's quite potent; you can't drink too much, or you'll get drunk."
Qin Xiaoyu was pleasantly surprised to find that although she had drunk the wine, she was not drunk, but only slightly tipsy, which was a very strange feeling.
"These mountain produce are really good." My cousin's wife also came back and praised the mushrooms and wood ear fungus on the ground.
Dinner was served late, and it wasn't until the people who had unloaded the truck returned that it was served.
The driver kept making excuses, not wanting to come for dinner, but Ge Laosao and Deng Jianyan dragged him over from either side.
"Hey Lao Deng, who did you marry? This is incredible!" The driver, an acquaintance of Deng Jianyan, spoke his mind after a few drinks. It's likely that Deng Jianyan will become a legend on the farm.
Laifu and Erhuang had become buddies, running around together and getting used to their new environment. That night, Alei was going back to sleep, taking Laifu with him. Erhuang followed for a few steps, then timidly stopped.
"Come on, my house is big, come up." At A Lei's command, the two dogs ran over.
Qin Xiaoyu watched his retreating figure and thought he looked quite imposing. Suddenly, a dark figure appeared around the corner—it was Cake.
Cake's gaze was gloomy as it stared in the direction A Lei had gone, remaining motionless. Qin Xiaoyu chuckled to herself, imagining a palace intrigue drama involving two dogs and a cat.
It seems that A Lei won't be lonely for a while. She'll have some free time to compile teaching materials.
She'd been looking around the library these past few days, but all the textbooks were terribly outdated. The fashion styles were all the same; it seemed she'd have to create her own.
Fortunately, she had several boxes of foreign fashion magazines that A Lei had given her. She couldn't be stingy anymore; she spent the entire night cutting and pasting, creating a thick lesson plan. She'd print it out tomorrow; that should last her for a while.
The education bureau chief is right; the number of students enrolling has been steadily increasing these past few days. Not many are applying for fashion design; the majority are studying fashion tailoring. They probably feel that design is too abstract and impractical. They prefer learning a real skill.
Qin Xiaoyu didn't explain much, but simply observed from the sidelines. There were currently only eight students studying design, all of whom were high school graduates and were learning basic courses, so there was no issue of class division for the time being.
The sewing machines were all borrowed from the garment factory. Originally, Factory Manager Xie intended to move them directly to the factory. However, Qin Xiaoyu specifically arranged for a rental agreement to be drawn up.
Unexpectedly, this silenced Director Feng, and Factory Director Xie repeatedly praised Qin Xiaoyu for her foresight.
At first, she considered getting a batch of new sewing machines for the school, but then she thought it best to stick with the old ones.
She planned to equip the garment factory with a new batch of equipment. Electric sewing machines were already being used in production in the south, reducing worker workload and increasing efficiency. Riyue Garments, wanting to expand, would eventually need to adopt them. The spare machines were essentially useless, so she decided to bring them to the school. Old machines inevitably have problems; having students use and repair them simultaneously would allow them to better understand the machines' performance.
During the break, the girls started chatting in small groups. Qin Xiaoyu checked each machine, making sure the stitches were even.
"Are you studying design?" Qin Xiaoyu asked one of the girls.
"Yes," the girl answered readily.
"Why did you study design?" Qin Xiaoyu had always been curious about this question; these eight girls were unconventional.
"My grandpa said that having more skills is never a bad thing. When I enrolled, I asked about the courses, and the design course also starts with making clothes. Doesn't that mean I've learned more than them?" This child's theory surprised Qin Xiaoyu. After thinking about it, she realized that what he said made sense.
She glanced at the girl's name tag, which read Hu Meiyan.
She needs to remember that children like this have potential and are promising.
"Director Qin, I need to talk to you." Qin Xiaoye appeared at the door. She usually avoided the area, so her coming to see him now meant she had something to say.
"What's wrong?"
"My classmate wants to transfer to our factory, is that possible?" Qin Xiaoye asked hesitantly. She was a proud person, and she only asked this because she was desperate.
"Welcome, go ahead and talk to them. If you can get the files, I'll keep them." Qin Xiaoyu was overjoyed; now was the time to use people, the more the better.
Just then, a commotion broke out outside. When they went out to see what was happening, they found Director Zhang from the Education Bureau. He had brought people from the TV station to interview them, and of course, he was talking about the benefits of training, employment, and running schools. He himself was a teacher and spoke eloquently for a long time, leaving the reporter and Qin Xiaoyu with nothing to do but listen.
After the group left in high spirits, Qin Xiaoyu realized that she had gained another powerful backer; the clothing school had been made a model by the Education Bureau.
