Chapter 95 You Are Not Their Mother (Part 1)

What could Qin Xiaoyu say? Her two children had become the darlings of the family, which should have made her happy, so why was she so uneasy?

"Why do you like Uncle Zhou?" Qin Xiaoyu asked Hanhan curiously.

“He understands me.” Hanhan raised her head and said seriously.

"..."

Okay, Qin Xiaoyu shut up. Zhou Yue didn't live at her parents' house and hadn't shown up. Zhou Xing had taken her place and become a regular visitor. However, he hardly interacted with Qin Xiaoyue; when he came, he just spent his time playing happily with Hanhan and her little sister.

"Little Fish, let me tell you, this is no good." Master Wang was so worried he could hardly contain himself.

"Master, I'm helpless too. I can't stop him from coming. Besides, he doesn't talk to me at all, as you've seen." Qin Xiaoyu said aggrievedly.

"That's the troublesome part. If he were to pursue you aggressively and passionately, it would cool down in a few days. But with his slow and steady approach, you might find yourself falling for him without even realizing it."

It turns out that Master Wang is also a master of romance. Qin Xiaoyu discovered that she has the lowest emotional intelligence, so she deserves to be fooled to death.

She didn't understand Zhou Xing's tactics, so she could only react to his moves as they came.

Master Wang is right; this slow, insidious process is the most terrifying. When she took Zhou Xing's appearances for granted, and then he suddenly stopped coming, she felt a void in her heart.

Hanhan was leading her little sister in and out, seemingly searching for something. Qin Xiaoyu understood that the child was also disappointed, but she couldn't comfort her. She went up to the platform for some fresh air.

Looking around, the trees have sprouted new branches, swaying gently in the wind, graceful and charming.

She closed her eyes, enjoying the sunshine. This was her tenth month since her rebirth, and her life had undergone tremendous changes, and things would only get better.

Suddenly, a chill ran through her body. This wasn't external cold; it came from deep within her, making her shiver uncontrollably. She hugged her shoulders and backed away. Just then, a familiar voice called out, "Qin Xiaoyu."

"Who?" Qin Xiaoyu looked around, but there was no one nearby.

"It feels really strange to call your own name, haha, I'm Hanhan's mom." That voice came again.

Qin Xiaoyu never dreamed that she could see ghosts in broad daylight.

"What are you going to do?" Qin Xiaoyu was a little worried. What would happen to her if she came to take back her body?

"Don't worry, I won't take my body back. I'm going to be reincarnated soon. I won't hurt you either. I'm so grateful to you for raising my child so well."

"Of course, I am their mother."

"No, you're not yet." Hanhan's mother's tone was sour, which Qin Xiaoyu interpreted as her being jealous.

How can I help you?

"Yes, just stand here and don't move. I'll say goodbye to the children and then leave, okay?" Hanhan's mother pleaded.

Qin Xiaoyu could no longer refuse her request, but before she could speak, her body became immobile. Everything in front of her was white, and it was as if snow walls had been piled up around her. She felt cold and helpless, and she couldn't make a sound.

She didn't know how much time had passed, but the sunlight slowly melted the snow around her. She moved her arm; it was numb, but she could move it again. She ran back into the building as fast as she could and ran into Master Wang in the corridor.

"Little Fish, you don't look well. It's windy up here, and you're not dressed warmly enough," Master Wang nags like a mother.

Qin Xiaoyu didn't say anything, but snuggled closer and hugged her arm, using her body heat to warm herself up little by little. Thinking of what Hanhan's mother had said, she felt a pang of sadness.

She was absent-minded all afternoon, often lost in thought. Around four o'clock in the afternoon, the students started cooking, and the aroma of cabbage and tofu filled the entire building. Only then did Qin Xiaoyu realize that she hadn't seen Hanhan and her younger sister for half a day.

She went downstairs and searched through each room. When she couldn't find the brother and sister outside the building, she suddenly felt a little scared.

She remembered something Hanhan's mother had said: "You're not their mother yet." Had she taken the children away?

Qin Xiaoyu felt another chill, a coldness rising from the depths of her heart; fear had pierced her soul. If it weren't for Hanhan, what was the meaning of her struggles in this life? What was the meaning of living? She didn't know.

She looked around blankly, and everything became unimportant. Without Hanhan, everything was meaningless.

She shouted, "Hanhan!"

"What's wrong?" Master Wang had been sensing something was off about her and kept glancing at her. Hearing her call, he rushed out.

"Quickly, find the child! The child is missing!" At Qin Xiaoyu's command, the building immediately sprang into action. The trainees all put down their work and joined the search. In the end, even the customers couldn't hold back any longer and started searching the building with their hair curlers on their heads.

Half an hour later, the two children had disappeared without a trace.

"Have they gone far? No way, Hanhan is such a good girl." Tian Tian muttered. Actually, this was what Qin Xiaoyu was most afraid of. Hanhan was obedient and wouldn't easily take her little sister into danger. This meant that if they really disappeared, there might have been an external force that took them away.

"Has Zhou Yuelai come here?"

Every time Zhou Yue came to pick up the child, she would greet her. Still feeling uneasy, she asked her about it.

"Sister Xiaoyue has never lived at her parents' house, Master, have you forgotten?" Tian Tian had a good memory.

The students who went to Qin Xiaoyu's house also ran back, with her cousin-in-law panting and jogging behind.

“They didn’t go home. I’ve been at home the whole time. They didn’t come back,” my cousin-in-law said quickly.

"Find it!" Without another word, Qin Xiaoyu rushed out of the courtyard and shouted at the top of her lungs.

It's getting dark now, and it's rush hour outside. The bicycles on the road are lined up like a long river, and Qin Xiaoyu is like a lone boat being tossed about in the waves.
