A sweet 1V1 romance story that feels empowering and down-to-earth, set in a rural era setting.
An architect named Hua Kai wakes up in a diary and finds herself transported back to the early 1...
This girl has good manners when drunk; she doesn't make a fuss. Ye Yifan carried Hua Kai back upstairs, took the key out of Hua Kai's coat pocket, used his leg to brace Hua Kai, opened the door with one hand, carried her into the house with the other, closed the door with his foot, and then carried her directly to the bed in the north room. He helped her take off her shoes and coat and covered her with a blanket.
Then Ye Yifan went to the kitchen to make some hangover tea. He had just prepared the ginger slices, brown sugar and white vinegar when Hua Kai appeared.
Hua Kai stood at the kitchen doorway, clinging to the door frame and looking pitifully at Ye Yifan: "Ye Yifan, I feel nauseous and uncomfortable."
This was the first time Ye Yifan had heard Hua Kai call him by his name like this, and it sounded quite nice, much more intimate than calling him Captain Ye.
He quickly went over and helped Hua Kai to sit down on a chair nearby. He then took a washbasin and placed it at her feet, saying, "If you feel like throwing up, just throw up in the basin. You sit here and wait, I'll make you some hangover soup."
Hua Kai leaned back in her chair, covering her mouth and muttering unhappily, "I might have drunk more before, but why am I getting drunk so easily today?"
While making hangover soup, Ye Yifan casually asked, "Did you used to drink a lot?"
There's been no further activity from Huakai's side.
Ye Yifan quickly looked over and saw that Hua Kai was sliding down the back of the chair at a steady speed, about to fall off.
Ye Yifan quickly rushed over, supported Hua Kai, then carried her in one arm, turned off the stove with the other, and carried her back into the house, placing her on the bed: "Be good, sleep for a while."
Hua Kai obediently nodded and hummed in agreement, then lay down.
Ye Yifan breathed a sigh of relief and quickly went out to cook the hangover soup. He turned off the heat and let the soup cool down while he washed a wet towel and wiped Hua Kai's face to cool her down and help her sober up faster.
When the rub touched the ticklish spot on her neck, Hua Kai giggled.
Ye Yifan smiled as he watched. This side of the girl was quite cute. He reached out and touched Hua Kai's face, muttering, "Grow up quickly." Then he wiped her forehead.
After the hangover soup cooled down, Ye Yifan helped Hua Kai sit up, coaxed her to drink a bowl of it, then helped her lie down, covered her with a blanket, and picked up a book to read on the sofa. He wasn't comfortable leaving her alone; Hua Kai had drunk too much, and it would be too dangerous for her to run out in such a dazed state. Even if she didn't go out, what if she got thirsty or felt nauseous?
Hua Kai slept until 1:30 a.m., when she woke up to go to the bathroom.
He groggily got up, came out and saw the light was on. When he saw Ye Yifan reading a book on the sofa, he was startled: "Captain Ye? What are you doing here?"
Ye Yifan stood up and stretched his numb legs: "Not called Ye Yifan anymore? Looks like you've sobered up, you don't remember anything?"
Hua Kai scratched her head awkwardly: "I just remember drinking too much and falling asleep in the restaurant, and then I don't know anything else."
"You were definitely drunk. I brought you home because I was worried about leaving you alone at home, so I thought I'd wait until you sobered up before going back. Are you hungry? I'll cook you some noodles."
Hua Kai shook her head, then quickly asked, "Are you hungry? There are some cookies at home, would you like to eat some?"
Ye Yifan said, "No need, I'm relieved that you're sober. I'll go back now."
Hua Kai glanced at the clock: "It's almost two o'clock, why are you still going back and causing trouble? If you don't mind, you can just spend the night on my brother's bed."
Ye Yifan naturally had no objection: "That's fine too. Since you're not going back anyway, I'll cook you a bowl of noodles. You didn't eat much tonight and got drunk."
Hua Kai thought for a moment, realizing that she hadn't eaten much, and neither had Ye Yifan: "I'll go."
Ye Yifan rolled up his sleeves and said, "Sit down and drink some hot water. You've just sobered up, and your stomach is probably still upset."
Hua Kai stayed by Ye Yifan's side: "Captain Ye, I'm really sorry to have troubled you."
Ye Yifan smiled as she looked at the blooming flowers: "Actually, it's fine for you to call me by my name. From now on, just call me by my name."
Hua Kai looked at Ye Yifan shyly: "Are you joking with me or are you serious?"
As Ye Yifan filled a large ladle with water and placed it on the stove, he smiled and said, "Of course it's true."
He himself didn't realize that since he met Huakai, he has been smiling more often, because his heart is warmed, and naturally he smiles more.
Hua Kai helped him get noodles and eggs, saying, "From now on, I'll call you Ye Yifan. We'll do business together, so you can call me whatever you want."
"Okay, could you chop some scallions for me?"
"good."
The two of them quickly cooked the noodles together. Ye Yifan brought the noodles to the table and then went back to the kitchen to wash the pot.
Hua Kai tidied up the colored boards and other items, and the two returned to the dining table.
Looking at the noodles in front of her, Hua Kai said regretfully, "It was such a nice Western meal, but I got drunk before I even ate much. It's all wasted."
Ye Yifan didn't think so, after all, the girl was drunk, which gave him so many opportunities to be alone with her.
He smiled and said, "If you like, you can go eat there another day. I'll be in the city lately."
Hua Kai took two bites and cautiously asked, "I didn't say or do anything I shouldn't have, even though I was drunk?"
Ye Yifan did not answer, but said, "Don't drink when I'm not around."
Hua Kai nodded. She was genuinely scared. If she had drunk too much with someone and said something strange, she didn't know what they would have thought. Fortunately, it was Ye Yifan.
She obediently replied, "I will try not to drink anymore. I really didn't expect my alcohol tolerance to be so low."
"Eat quickly, then get a good night's sleep. We don't need to get up early tomorrow; we can leave at nine."
"I'm fine. I've been sleeping for so long. You've been keeping me up for most of the night. I really feel bad about it."
"Being able to see your drunken side makes it all worthwhile for me," Ye Yifan said with a smile.
Hua Kai lowered her head, too embarrassed to look at Ye Yifan. She knew she had made a fool of herself quite a bit. She had no memory of how she got back, but whether he carried her back or helped her back, she was definitely not in a good state.
After dinner, Ye Yifan went to wash the dishes, and Hua Kai went to find a spare toothbrush for him. Fortunately, she had bought a lot beforehand. She also found a pair of her older brother's sweatpants. Although they were a bit short, the elastic waistband meant Ye Yifan could wear them. She also found a navy shirt, otherwise it would be inconvenient for him to wear his outer clothes when he went in and out at night.
We found one, but there weren't any extra towels, so he'll have to use his own.
Everything was ready. Hua Kai told Ye Yifan to wash up first, and then she went to change into her pajamas, which she had bought at the department store. She still preferred to sleep in pajamas.
After Ye Yifan finished washing up, Hua Kai went into the bathroom to wash up as well.
When she came out, she saw Ye Yifan wearing her older brother's pajama pants and couldn't help but laugh: "Nine-point pants, quite fashionable."
Ye Yifan looked down at his trouser leg: "Will I have to carry my pajamas with me every time I go out from now on?"
Hua Kai pouted: "What? Planning to stay overnight everywhere from now on?"
Hearing Hua Kai's words, Ye Yifan quickly replied, "I'd rather sleep in the car than at someone else's house, except here. Um, it's getting late, you should go to sleep early too, goodnight." After saying that, he hurried back to the south room.
