Yuan Jie, pregnant with her second child, fell into a coma after an accident. While her beloved Sun Aimin did everything to save her life, she entered a long and strange dream. In the dream, her fa...
The last time they came to Mafang City, they came and left in a hurry, and ate a lot of special foods in Jiangyuan City. Now, Qian Jincai and his son want to try more special dishes of Mafang City, otherwise it will be difficult to come back after arriving in the provincial capital.
They walked downstairs and out of the hotel, strolling leisurely along Zhanqian Street, which was dotted with restaurants and small vendors. As they neared the end of the street, they came across a sealed restaurant with its sign still hanging.
Old Mrs. Qian was startled, thinking that the noodle shop owned by the second son and his wife must be right here. She hurriedly pulled the others away. When they were alone, she warned her family, "When you're out and about, don't tell anyone where you're from or your name. It would be really troublesome if the second son gets involved!"
After saying this, the others also tensed up, no longer acting as loudly as before. They quietly found a donburi restaurant, each ordered a plate of rice and a drink, ate in silence, and quickly returned to the hotel to rest.
When they got to the room, Qian Jincai finally spoke up, "Mom, aren't you being too cautious? As long as we don't reveal our identities, eat and drink as usual, who would know that we have a relationship with the second brother?"
Old Mrs. Qian replied, "That's the truth. I've been having a lot of trouble at home lately, and I'm a little nervous. I'd better be careful, just be careful."
Qian Jincai said nonchalantly, "Mom, why are you becoming less courageous as you get older? You weren't like this when we went to Jiangyuan City a few days ago!"
Old Mrs. Qian still felt uneasy and explained, "We're going out of town. Who would recognize us? We haven't left the city yet. There are people from the village working here. What if we get into trouble?"
Qian Jincai curled his lips and said, "How can those people from our village who work in the city hang out all day? Besides, this city is so big, and there are only a few of them. How can it be that easy to run into them? What can they do if the people in the village recognize us? We haven't broken any laws, and the police haven't arrested us. What can they do to us?"
Qian Longbin echoed, "Grandma, what my dad said is absolutely right. Just don't worry. We'll go out for a walk tomorrow and leave by car the day after tomorrow. What could possibly happen?"
After being persuaded by the father and son, Mrs. Qian finally felt a little relieved. But she added, "Well, how about this? You guys go shopping tomorrow, and I'll stay inside to look after the luggage. We've brought a lot of valuables this time, and it would be terrible if we lost them. Bring me back some delicious food. It's freezing, and I'm too lazy to go out!"
That was the deal, and everyone chatted for a while before going to bed.
Qian Meijuan felt like she was dreaming. She lay in bed, staring at the moonlit window, and didn't know how long it took before she fell asleep. She slept soundly, even dreaming of herself running freely in the wilderness in her new dress. When she woke up in the morning, she was in a good mood.
In the morning, the family drank mutton soup and ate crispy and delicious sesame cakes downstairs of the hotel. They also asked the store owner what delicious restaurants and special snacks there were in the city.
The shop owner responded enthusiastically, "For snacks, there's a place that makes excellent fried meat in XXX. As for restaurants, there's been a Huimin Restaurant popping up recently, just around the corner from the entrance of XX Hutong. They're very affordable, the portions are generous, and the food is delicious. If I weren't so far away, I'd go there several times a month."
The group took note of the boss's recommendations. Old Mrs. Qian was rather heavyset, and needed to rest several times every time she went up and down the stairs. She didn't want to go out, so she finished her mutton soup and returned to the hotel. The others, armed with the two hundred yuan Old Mrs. Qian had given them, went out to feast.
They had just come out of a mutton soup restaurant and were strolling around the area. They stopped by a fried skewers shop and bought some to share. They then took a taxi and asked the driver to take them to a snack street in the downtown area, where they found a wider variety of snacks and they were more authentic.
In the snack street, several people were dazzled by the variety of snacks and wanted to try everything, so they simply bought smaller amounts of each type of snack, focusing on the principle of "sharing everything equally".
With the two young men, Qian Jincai and Qian Longbin, there, it wasn't a problem to get enough food. Besides, rural people tend to eat a lot, and the four of them had already spent seventy or eighty yuan on snacks during their journey.
After eating and drinking, the group went to a free park that had just been built nearby. They strolled around the park and found that the lives of city dwellers were much richer than those of rural residents.
Even on such a cold day, there were still many people in the park, some taking a walk, some taking their kids for a walk, some playing badminton, and some dancing the Yangko. It was quite lively. They were so happy to see the old men and women dancing for a while.
Then they went to the shopping mall. Qian Meijuan, a first-time visitor, was stunned. The building was four stories high, and the sight of it all was dizzying. Inside, they saw everything from food and clothing to everyday items. The high-end items were clearly marked with prices, and even the price tags frightened them. They didn't dare approach, fearing they might get something dirty or damaged and be unable to afford the compensation.
After a stroll through the mall, I came out empty-handed and took a taxi to Huimin Hotel.
It was almost noon and the restaurant started to fill up. Fortunately, it was not the weekend, so there were relatively few customers.
After the Qian family entered the restaurant, they looked around, walked inside, found a square table for four and sat down. The waiter brought them the menu.
Now that the restaurant is on the right track, the workload in the kitchen is heavy and the meal queues are long, so it is inevitable that customers will have to wait a little longer.
In order to relieve customers' anxiety while waiting for their meals, after they sit down and order, a small snack including candy and melon seeds will be brought to the table.
