Inside the safe house, Su Yao carefully took out each of the high-temperature post-apocalyptic supplies she had meticulously prepared before the apocalypse and took stock of them. There were nanomaterials with highly efficient heat insulation, which could be used to reinforce the protective layer of the safe house; there were specially made solar energy conversion devices that could still painstakingly extract a trace of energy in this scorching environment; and there were various sealed packages of nutritional pastes, which, although they didn't taste good, were enough to maintain the basic nutrients needed by the body.

She and her parents divided the work. Her father was responsible for cutting the nanomaterials to the appropriate size according to Su Yao's instructions, and then attaching them to the walls and roof of the safe house to further enhance the heat insulation effect. Her mother sorted and organized the nutritional paste, storing it in an easily accessible place, and checked the water storage equipment in the house to ensure the safety and sufficiency of the water source. Su Yao focused on debugging the solar energy conversion device, trying to make it operate stably under high-temperature interference to provide power for some small appliances in the house.

"Yaoyao, these supplies can last for a while, but when will this heatwave finally end?" the mother asked worriedly as she sorted through the nutritional paste.

Not far from the safe house, a cloud of dust rose as a group of bizarre, high-temperature mutated beasts gradually came into Su Yao's view. These mutated beasts were enormous; some resembled giant lizards, their bodies covered in burning scales; others looked like fierce bulls with antlers, their horns flashing with intense red light, scorching the ground wherever they went.

Su Yao gripped her longsword tightly and launched the first attack. Her figure moved like lightning, instantly charging towards the mutated beast horde. She swung her longsword, unleashing a sharp energy slash towards the mutated lizard at the forefront. Sensing the danger, the mutated lizard opened its blood-red maw and spewed out a burst of high-temperature flames, colliding with Su Yao's energy slash and sending sparks flying.

Seeing that Su Yao dared to provoke her, the other mutated beasts roared and swarmed around her. Su Yao was fearless, weaving nimbly through the pack. Each swing of her longsword left a wound on a mutated beast. But the mutated beasts were numerous, and their attacks grew increasingly fierce. A mutated bull seized its opportunity, lowered its head, and charged at Su Yao with its burning antlers. Su Yao dodged to the side, slashing at the bull's neck with her longsword, but only managing to leave a shallow mark on its tough hide.

In the midst of the fierce battle, Su Yao gradually realized that if things continued this way, she would eventually be overwhelmed by the horde of beasts. While dodging attacks, she observed her surroundings, searching for usable terrain. Suddenly, she discovered a dry riverbed not far away, its bottom filled with sharp rocks.

Su Yao had a plan in mind. She deliberately feigned weakness, retreating while fighting towards the dried-up riverbed. The mutated beasts, deceived by Su Yao's apparent weakness, pursued relentlessly. As they stepped into the riverbed, Su Yao concentrated her power, stomping her foot forcefully. Sharp rocks from the riverbed erupted like projectiles, instantly piercing the mutated beasts' feet. The beasts roared in pain, their steps faltering.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Su Yao launched an even fiercer attack. She leaped high into the air, her longsword radiating a powerful light as she unleashed a full-force strike. This strike, like a dazzling bolt of lightning, cleaved straight into the mutated beast horde, the immense energy sending several beasts flying.

However, the mutated beasts were not completely driven back. They quickly regrouped and charged at Su Yao again. Su Yao knew that she had already exhausted a lot of her strength and abilities and could no longer fight them head-on. She decided to take a gamble, activating her spatial ability to create multiple illusory clones within the horde to confuse the mutated beasts, and then she would take the opportunity to teleport back to the safe house.

When Su Yao returned to the safe house, she was completely exhausted. She collapsed onto the floor, panting heavily. Her parents rushed over, asking her what had happened with concern.

"Yaoyao, how are you? Are you hurt?" her mother asked anxiously.
