Chapter 206 Recruiting Granville (2/2)

It was: the selection competition for the Land of Mist held by the Empire.

Ryan was not surprised by this. After all, considering the time, the Mist Conference was almost over, so it was normal for some news to be passed back.

After he finished the work at hand, he returned to the family to ask Jonas.

Jonas should have known better.

Soon, the carriage stopped at a simple courtyard in the royal city, where Granville was temporarily staying.

Because his fighting spirit meridians were destroyed and his strength was only one tenth of what it was now, Granville could only survive by accepting simple commissions.

Ryan got out of the carriage with Lola, who was covering herself with a black robe.

Andre walked up and knocked on Granville's simple wooden door.

Under the black robe, Lola looked at Granville's current residence, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes.

After a while, the simple wooden door opened from the inside and Granville walked out.

Granville looked a little haggard, and even his hair, which was originally bright blue in his profile, looked a little gray.

Granville looked at the four people, including Ryan, outside the door, scratched his head, and asked in confusion, "How many people? Who are you looking for?"

Ryan smiled and said, "I'm looking for you. I have a commission I want to give you. Are you interested?"

Listening to Ryan's words, Granville frowned slightly. He didn't think that he was a useless person who became famous just by taking a few tasks of finding cats and dogs in the Mercenary Association. He was so famous that people came to him for commissions.

Granville looked at Ryan's clothes and thought he was one of the families that came to see him.

Then he gave Ryan a standard knight's salute.

"Sir, Granville's fighting spirit veins are useless. If he is really a useless person, if you are here to recruit Granville, then please go back. Granville just wants to be a free man now."

Listening to Granville's words, Ryan smiled and said, "Why don't you invite me in to sit down?"

Granville sighed and welcomed Ryan and his companions in.

Granville's courtyard was very simple, without even a stone bench to sit on.

Seeing this, a golden light flashed in Ryan's eyes, and four stone benches and a round table appeared on the ground in an instant.

Ryan sat on the stone bench, pointed to the stone bench opposite him, and said, "Granville, sit down."

Granville looked at Ryan's calm demeanor and for a moment thought he was a guest.

Following Ryan's instructions, Granville sat opposite Ryan.

Ryan said, "Hello Granville, nice to meet you. My name is Ryan Gray."

Granville's body suddenly stiffened. What did he scream?!

Ryan? Gray?

The empire's most famous magical genius!?

Ryan...did he invite me too...will he die if I refuse...

"You...you, Lord Ryan." Granville became restrained after knowing Ryan's identity.

"Don't be nervous Granville. As you can see, I'm here to recruit you."

"I admire your leadership talent. Zhengtu, I have just formed a new knight order and am in need of a leader. And you happened to come to my imperial capital. We are destined to meet." Ryan said with a smile.

Granville smiled and said along with Ryan.

"Lord Ryan, I... I really no longer want to lead the Knights. I may... disappoint you."

"You should have researched me before you came. My Iron Guard Knights of Wordsworth were annihilated in a battle with the Greatsword Knights (led by the Second Prince of Wordsworth). I... no longer have the confidence to lead the Knights."

Ryan sneered, "The demise of the Knights of the Iron Guard was not your fault. It was entirely your plan for the upper echelons of the Duchy of Wordsworth. They had to die."
