The story... begins here!

Chapter 13 Flowers

Li seemed to have finally considered that there were still many young warriors in the hunting party who couldn't keep up with the pace, so after walking for a while, Li stopped ahead and told the hunting party to rest for a bit before continuing on their way.

Many members of the hunting team had been waiting for these words. As soon as Li finished speaking, they all sat down on the ground to rest. Li Qing was no exception. He breathed a sigh of relief and sat down on the spot.

While this alleviated the hunting team's fatigue, water remained a major problem.

The rice flower sighed, "Wheat, I am so thirsty."

Li Qing: "I'm thirsty too."

Daohua sighed, "This is my first time going hunting with a hunting team, and I didn't expect it to be so difficult."

Li Qing chimed in, "Yes, especially now that it's noon, when the sun is at its fiercest."

Daohua sighed again and closed her eyes to rest. Obviously, it was best to talk less when she was tired and thirsty. Otherwise, if she talked until her mouth was dry and she had nowhere to replenish her water, she would only suffer in silence.

Looking at Big Black, the big black dog was also panting heavily, its tongue lolling out, making "huffing" sounds, clearly very thirsty.

Only those who have truly experienced thirst understand how terrible it feels. More importantly, even if they could bring some water before setting off, they probably wouldn't be able to bring much. In Li Qing's memory, the Red Flower Tribe fetched water from a small stream behind the tribe. However, the recent drought and lack of rain, coupled with the large number of people in the tribe needing water, had caused the stream to dry up day by day. As a result, Dian and Jiewu had been discussing whether to set a daily water quota for each tribesman. Under these circumstances, the hunting team had even less reason to bring water. They bore the heavy responsibility of bringing back food for the tribe, so how could they compete with the tribesmen who needed water more?

Li Qing sat for a while, but still felt a bit tired, so he closed his eyes and felt drowsy. He wanted to rest for a while before setting off.

But before Li Qing closed his eyes, Daohua, who had been moaning "water...water...", suddenly shouted:

"water!"

Suddenly, Daohua let out a soft cry of surprise, startling Li Qing, who was closest to her. Turning her head, she saw Daohua holding up her index finger, looking at her happily, and saying, "Wheat, look, it's water!"

water?

Li Qing walked into the rice paddies and saw that there was indeed a drop of crystal-clear liquid on Mai Zi's index finger.

"dew?"

"No, it's already noon, how could it be dew?"

Li Qing shook his head, denying his speculation.

Where did this drop of liquid come from? It looks sticky...it even looks a bit like saliva!?

Daohua's discovery also attracted a group of thirsty fellows around him.

"Where did this come from? It really looks like water!"

"Daohua, what's going on? Could it be your saliva?"

"Bullshit! Do you think I'm that bored?!"

"Where did it come from? Hey, weren't you just resting here? Tell us quickly, we don't care how much water there is, as long as it can quench our thirst!"

The discovery of Daohua caused a small commotion among the crowd, even attracting the attention of Li and Chu, who were talking. Li walked up to Daohua and asked curiously, "Daohua, what's going on?"

Daohua was also a little confused: "I don't know what happened. I was sleeping just now, and when I felt like I was about to fall asleep, I felt something cold drip on my chest, which woke me up. Then I found that there was something like a drop of water on my chest. I thought it was raining, so I reached out and touched it, but it wasn't raining."

"Rain? Hahaha, Daohua, are you out of your mind from thirst?" Chu pointed at the bright sun in the sky and said, "You're telling me it's going to rain in this weather?"

Daohua blushed, feeling a little embarrassed.

Li shook his head and concluded, "It definitely wasn't raining. But, Daohua, where were you lying just now?"

Daohua pointed to the side next to Li Qing, "Right there."

Li pondered for a moment, then waved for Daohua to leave. He walked to the spot where Daohua had been lying, looked up, and said, "There must be some plant on there dripping water. Strange, it's well past morning, how could there still be plants dripping water?"

Li was a level two warrior, but that didn't mean he wasn't thirsty. In fact, he was quite thirsty, but considering that he and Chu were the "captains" this time, he didn't express his feelings for the sake of the overall situation. At this moment, Daohua said that there was water dripping from a plant, and Li naturally took it seriously. After all, if there really was something dripping water from above, they might be able to cut it down and solve the problem of thirst for the people in the hunting team.

Upon seeing this, many members of the hunting team looked up, wondering what kind of plant was dripping water.

Daohua looked up for a while, but probably couldn't figure it out, so he stuck out his tongue and tried to lick his index finger first.

"etc!"

Li Qing saw that Daohua was about to lick the drop of water and quickly stopped her.

"What's wrong?"

“We haven’t figured out what’s dripping the water yet. What if this drop is poisonous?” Li Qing said seriously. “We only carry weapons with us. If you get poisoned, we won’t be able to treat you!”

“You’re overthinking it,” Daohua said dismissively. “Sometimes we drink the water that drips from plants, and sometimes we even cut down a tree to drink the water from it.”

In Daohua's view, all water is just water, nothing to worry about.
