Rebirth in the Great Primitive World

After a shipwreck, Li Qing arrives in a primordial world where dinosaurs, ferocious beasts, and humans coexist.

The story... begins here!

Chapter 210 Chase

Li Qing's mouth trembled. "Speaking of which, you still haven't told us what that big guy is. Is it a Tyrannosaurus Rex, or...?"

Chu had already stood up, and the Black Wind Tribe members behind him, except for Lie Yan, were all very obedient to him, and they all stood up and followed behind Chu.

"If it were a Tyrannosaurus Rex, would we be hiding in a place like this?" Chu said as he led the way towards the exit. "It's a very large mammoth. Believe me, Mai, this mammoth is much bigger than you can imagine!"

Boye, who had been silent all along, followed behind Chu. Seeing that Li Qing still hadn't made a move, he impatiently urged, "Let's go. The strength of that mammoth is beyond your imagination. It can easily create a gap in a small cave like this with just a little effort. We were safe hiding here and planned to leave at night. But now you've made us change our plans and leave this place now."

Dian said unhappily, "Boye! Say less. Mai Zi is doing this for our own good. He picked us up because he wants to take us to a place where we can heal our wounds!"

Boye stuck out his tongue honestly and said, "Okay, I understand."

During this conversation, the group began to flee in perfect unison, but instead of Dian and the wounded leading the way at the beginning, Li Qing, Da Hei, and others took the lead.

After all, they were not injured, and they were needed to lead the way to that place.

As Li Qing walked towards the exit, he could hear the huge footsteps nearby, and his heart began to pound faster and faster.

“Essentially, this is a dilemma,” Li Qing said, almost cursing. “It’s a dead end. Staying in there is like committing slow suicide. But if we go out, if that mammoth isn’t blind, we’ll be caught in a tense chase.”

The exit was reached even faster than Li Qing had anticipated. Looking at the light at the exit, Li Qing tiptoed, trying to peek and see if he could spot the mammoth.

"I haven't seen it yet. Hopefully, I'll be lucky. Wait a minute... when I came here, was there a small hill in front of me?"

Li Qing inadvertently noticed what appeared to be a small earthen mound ahead, and frowned in surprise as he tried to recall what it might be.

"That's it!"

"My God, it's right at the cave entrance, that mammoth!"

What?

Li Qing was stunned for a moment, then his whole body trembled as he suddenly realized that the small mound was indeed not a mound at all; it... had moved!

When Li Qing saw the mammoth in its entirety, he couldn't contain his shock and exclaimed in his mind: "Holy crap!"

This mammoth was so huge that even from inside the cave, it still gave Li Qing a tremendous sense of awe.

The mammoth was covered in yellowish-brown fur, dirty and covered in mud—which was the main reason why Li Qing immediately mistook it for a dirt mound.

It is very tall; according to Li Qing's conservative estimate, it is at least six meters tall, which is an absolutely astonishing figure.

According to modern scientific records, the shoulder height of a mammoth would not exceed five meters, but this mammoth was over six meters tall!

Before they knew it, the group had reached the cave entrance while the mammoths weren't paying attention to them.

"...It seems that this mammoth's sense of smell isn't very keen."

Looking up at the mammoth, whose entirety he couldn't see even from his gazing upwards, Li Qing swallowed hard, trying to reassure himself.

“Let’s go,” Li Qing felt his whole body stiffen. “Let’s get out of here quickly, before the mammoths find us, and get back to the other side of the Liangmeng River. Once we get there, we’ll be safe. Don’t worry, it’s not far from here, we’ll be there soon…”

Before Li Qing could finish speaking, he heard a deep moan from a mammoth not far away.

Whether it smelled the scent or heard what Li Qing had just said, the mammoth turned its head and looked at Li Qing's group.

This was also the first time Li Qing had seen the mammoth face-to-face.

The biggest difference between a mammoth and an ordinary elephant lies in its tusks. Mammoth tusks are longer and more aggressive than those of an ordinary elephant. This particular mammoth, in addition to having a shoulder height much greater than that of an ordinary mammoth, also possesses a pair of enormous tusks that are nearly three and a half meters long, far exceeding the size of an ordinary mammoth. They are like two sharp swords, forked horizontally on both sides of the mammoth's neck, stretching straight forward. On the tusks, one can vaguely see drops of blood, which should be left by the carcasses of the wild animals that Li Qing saw along the way.

"My hunch was pretty accurate, but this mammoth is just too big!" Li Qing thought, his eyes wide. "If I got poked by its tusks, wouldn't that be a fatal blow?"

Even Big Black was seeing such a terrifying mammoth for the first time. It even felt a fear stemming from its biological instincts. Instead of barking as a warning, it took a few steps back.

"..."

"What are you waiting for? Run!"

Li Qing shouted and, with Da Hei in tow, ran down a shortcut.

"Follow me. There are many trees on this shortcut, which should buy the mammoth some time. It will be much safer once we get there!"

No sooner had he finished speaking than Li Qing had already run quite a distance. Upon seeing where Li Qing had run, Chu cried out in panic, "Hey, Mai Zi, where are you running? That direction is a cliff!"

“Nonsense! Of course I know there’s a cliff ahead! I also know that’s where Li and the others fell down,” Li Qing said without turning his head. “What else can we do? The normal way back is blocked by that mammoth, completely blocked. If we don’t go down the cliff, if we don’t jump off the cliff, you try to drive that mammoth away.”

"Jump off a cliff?" Upon hearing this, Chu couldn't help but curse angrily, "You're incredibly reckless!"

But there was no response to these words...

Seeing that Li Qing was running further and further away and had no intention of paying attention to him, Chu could only say angrily, "Fine, let's jump then. Anyway, as you said, there will be a strange bird that can catch us when we jump, so let's jump!"

With that, he waved his hand and shouted at the crowd behind him, "If you have guts and want to live, follow me and hurry up! If any of you can't keep up, then I can only wish you good luck!"

With that, led by Chu, the rest of the group rushed after Li Qing. The mammoth, seeing its prey running in a group in one direction, finally began to move its heavy steps, accompanied by deafening roars, and headed in that direction as well.

A chase is about to begin!
