With Secretary Song's help, Su Yu was finally able to control the car. Her hands were finally free.

This time, she finally spoke from the bottom of her heart, "Secretary Song, you are such a good person. You are truly a good cadre and a good leader who serves the people."

Secretary Song, enduring the cold: "..." I really want to let go.

Su Yu thought for a moment, then used one hand to untie her scarf from her neck and carefully wrapped it around Secretary Song's hands and the front of her car several times.

First, I went to the traffic management bureau to register my bicycle.

It's quite strict; they check all the car purchase documents to prove the car belongs to them, and then register it.

After leaving the traffic management bureau, Secretary Song prepared to leave. The bike ride had really exhausted him.

But seeing Su Yu's crooked and unsteady posture, he felt that the car might tip over at any moment.

When they arrived near Old Su's house, Su Yu finally untied her scarf. "Secretary Song, I'm almost there. No need to trouble you anymore. Thank you for helping me so much. Let's have another meal together next time. I promise I won't skimp on the food. You can eat whatever you want."

Secretary Song looked at her with a haughty air, "Forget it, I don't like eating food cooked by women, I can't stomach it."

Su Yu thought to herself, "I think you're quite willing to eat this."

Secretary Song sighed, "Actually, I was going to treat you to a meal today, since it's a holiday and the whole country is celebrating together. But I saw that you didn't order much, so I didn't fight with you for it."

Su Yu: "..."

Secretary Song turned the car around, preparing to leave. "Never mind, I'll treat you to a meal next time. I'll let you know when I have time."

He's not exactly likable, but at least he was quick-witted today and didn't embarrass him.

"Such a stubborn pride..." Su Yu silently scorned.

After watching him ride away on his bike, he called out into the yard, "Dazhizhi, Meizilinzi, those of you at home, come out quickly!"

Today is a holiday, and because everyone has a pretty good job, and Liu Mei, who works in the workshop, has connections, everyone is off today.

Upon hearing Su Yu's call, the family rushed outside without even changing their shoes.

Then they saw Su Yu standing outside the yard pushing a bicycle, and they were all dumbfounded.

Su Dazhi stammered, "B-Big sister, where did you get this car from...?"

"Of course we bought it," Su Yu said. "Hurry up and get it inside, I'm freezing!"

Su Zhi immediately ran over excitedly, "Sis, sis, let me carry it. Sis, how about I ride it first? I've been practicing on the bikes from our factory these past few days. I think I've already learned how to ride it."

Su Dazhi quickly said, "Zhi, don't mess around. This is a new car, what if it gets damaged? Let's take it back and leave it there. Have your sister-in-law clean it up."

Su Yu said, "What are you doing? You should practice outside with Zhizai too. Starting tomorrow, you'll take turns riding your bikes to work, and give me a ride along. Remember, you have to be really good at it. If anyone can't ride steadily, I won't let you touch the bike."

Su Dazhi suddenly felt weak in the knees from nervousness. Ride the bike now?

Su Zhi was the boldest; he took Su Yu's bike, hopped on, and started riding. However, his movements were just as unsteady and awkward as Su Yu's.

But judging from his excitement, he didn't seem scared at all. The others, on the other hand, were watching him nervously, afraid he'd fall. Not so much that he'd get hurt, but that the bike would be damaged.

After handing over the car, Su Yu went straight home to rest. It was the dead of winter, and so cold.

As soon as I entered the courtyard, I was warmly welcomed by everyone there.

"Su Yu is back. I saw your family bought a car. It must be very expensive."

"Where did you buy it? This car is hard to buy. I've heard that even if you have money, it's not easy to get one."

"Su Yu, you're really something, you even bought a car."

Everyone chatted amongst themselves, their conversation all revolving around the question of why Su Yu had suddenly come back from looking at cars.

Su Yu sighed, "I was just lucky. I thought there would be supplies available around New Year's Day, so I went to check, and sure enough, there were. I managed to snag the last one. Honestly, I didn't want to buy this car, but I need it for work. I have to go to meetings all the time, and it's inconvenient to travel by car. I gritted my teeth and bought it. Because of this car, my whole family isn't planning on spending the New Year properly; we're tightening our belts."

Neighbor Sister-in-law Lin said, "Alright, Su Yu must have a very useful bicycle, otherwise who would waste that money? Su Yu, go back and rest, your face is all red."

Su Yu rubbed her face. "It is quite cold."

Then he waved to everyone and went inside.

The others watched her retreating figure, their feelings a mix of emotions. The Su family used to be so poor, and Su Yu had such a hard life, always worrying about this and that. Look at her life now, she even owns a bicycle. I heard her workplace even allocated her an apartment.

Life is getting better and better!
