While waiting for Captain Han to arrive in Luzhong, Zheng Haishan was also busy. Li Qiangbin revealed that his code name was C2, so the shoemaker in C1 was very likely the one whose connection was cut by Li Qiangbin.

Zheng Haishan went to the criminal investigation team to find out what was going on.

The crime scene of the shoemaker's case was handed over to the criminal investigation team for technical investigation, but there have been no results yet since they arrived here.

For criminal investigators, the crime scene didn't leave much of useful value.

First, the murderer and the victim must have known each other. Otherwise, there would have been signs of a struggle.

Captain Han arrived in Luzhong two days later. Instead of going to the special operations team, he went to Xing Baohua's place first.

Captain Han said to Xing Baohua, "When Zheng Haishan reported to me, he said that Zhang Haiyan knew about the spies in Manchuria. I think it's related to your trip to Manchuria."

“It would be best if we could find them. Those who were involved have already been mostly dealt with. I thought they would retaliate immediately, so I prepared cloth bags with openings for them to crawl through, but not a single one came,” Xing Baohua said.

"It's a good thing they don't come. If they did, things would be chaotic, and if not handled properly, the pressure on the higher-ups would be immense," Captain Han said, shaking his head slightly.

"What do you think about us luring them out and testing them?" Captain Han said.

Xing Baohua nodded, "This is worth a try. Find a few large trailer trucks, convert them all into container trucks, and haul them towards Shanghai."

Captain Han, coordinate the armed escort. If there's any activity, we'll take them all down in one fell swoop. If there's no activity, that's fine too. What's a little travel expense?

Captain Han left Xing Baohua's place and headed to their special operations base.

Only a clerk sat with him; everyone else in the room was standing.

Even Zheng Haishan was standing.

How can you prove that what you say works?

"I don't need to prove anything. You can believe me or not. I'll give you thirty seconds. If you don't answer within thirty seconds, I'm leaving, and you've lost all your chances. Remember, some things are not negotiable."

"Can Xing Baohua's life be discussed?"

"You have 20 seconds left." Captain Han remained unmoved, looking at his watch and counting the seconds.

Thirty seconds had passed when Captain Han said to Zheng Haishan, "Drag him out and kill him. He's no longer of any use."

Upon receiving Captain Han's order, Zheng Haishan waved his hand, and two burly men stepped forward to unlock Zhang Haiyan's handcuffs, preparing to drag her away.

Perhaps Zhang Haiyan panicked when she saw Captain Han take out a weapon with a silencer.

Captain Han said, "Make it clean. Didn't we also arrest a man? Question him later. If he doesn't confess, execute him. It'll be easier to bury them both in one pit."

As Zhang Haiyan was being dragged out the door, she struggled frantically, turned her head to look at Captain Han, and shouted anxiously, "I'll confess, I'll tell you everything, I won't make any demands."

Captain Han sneered and said, "Why didn't you do this earlier? I gave you a chance."

As he spoke, he took the weapon from Zheng Haishan's hand again and cocked it as he walked toward Zhang Haiyan.

"Do you think we're here for you to play around with?" he said, slapping her thigh.

With a crisp, muffled thud, Zhang Haiyan cried out as the spent cartridge case hit the ground with a clear, ringing sound.

Zheng Haishan quickly sent someone to call a doctor.

After the doctor arrived, Captain Han said, "Stop the bleeding, give her anesthesia, and don't let her scream!"
