Wang Hu's face instantly flushed crimson, his expression so intense it seemed to bleed, and he looked utterly embarrassed. Like a child who had done something wrong, he nodded frantically, avoiding eye contact with anyone. Zhang Lirong, seeing this, couldn't hold back any longer and covered her mouth, giggling. The clear, melodious laughter sounded particularly jarring in the quiet consultation room.

Hearing Zhang Lirong's laughter, the doctor frowned slightly, turned to look at her, and said seriously, "And you, what are you laughing at? Don't think this is funny. You softened and agreed just because your man begged you like that? Remember, you absolutely cannot have sex during the first and last three months of pregnancy!" The doctor then prescribed some medication to prevent miscarriage and gave them some instructions. The two then walked out of the hospital hand in hand, like a young couple who had done something wrong.

As Zhang Lirong walked down the street, for some reason, the image of Wang Hu's embarrassed state from earlier suddenly popped into her mind again, and she couldn't help but burst out laughing once more.

Seeing this, Wang Hu rolled his eyes in annoyance and said, "What are you laughing at! It's like the doctor didn't say anything about you!" As he spoke, he reached out one hand and pulled Zhang Lirong into his arms, while his other hand playfully reached for her armpit and gently tickled her.

Zhang Lirong burst into laughter, twisting her body to dodge Wang Hu's "attacks" while trying to push him away. Just as the two were playfully teasing each other, Zhang Lirong's phone suddenly rang. The two stopped what they were doing, and Zhang Lirong took her phone out of her pocket and saw that it was a call from her mother.

After answering the phone, Zhang Lirong spoke in her hometown dialect, Ningbo. Wang Hu listened from the side, feeling that the dialect was like a foreign language, and he couldn't understand a single word.

However, he noticed that during her phone call with her mother, Zhang Lirong would occasionally look at him with a strange gaze, which made him feel uneasy.

Finally, the call ended. Zhang Lirong turned her head, looked at Wang Hu expectantly, and said softly, "My mother wants to meet you!"

Zhang Lirong's hometown is located on Gouqi Island in the Zhoushan Archipelago, which used to be a relatively isolated place. In the past, due to inconvenient transportation, limited access to information, and many other reasons, most residents lived in poverty and could only rely on traditional fishing to make a living. He originally wanted to buy some high-end clothes, but Zhang Lirong stopped him, saying that they wouldn't wear the clothes anyway, since they still fished at home!

Zhang Lirong's parents quickly welcomed Wang Hu home. After entering the living room, Zhang Lirong said to a woman with a wrinkled face, "Wang Hu, this is my mother!"

Wang Hu was very good at handling things; he immediately bowed and said, "Mom! Hello!"

Then he opened one of the gift boxes he had bought and handed it to her, saying, "Mom! This is a gift I bought for you, a Chow Tai Fook gold bracelet!"

"No, no..." Wang Hu didn't understand the rest of her sentence, but he knew she was just being polite, so he put the bracelet on her wrist directly!

When Zhang Lirong's father was introduced, the prospective son-in-law, beaming with smiles, handed the old man carefully selected gifts of cigarettes, alcohol, and tea, saying warmly, "Dad, Rongrong told me that you enjoy a little wine and tea from time to time, so I specially bought some for you! The customs here are largely the same as in the north. When the new son-in-law visits for the first time, the family is naturally busy preparing.
