After the dishes and chopsticks were washed clean, Wang Hu gently picked up his laptop, which had been with him for a long time, and leisurely walked into the spacious and bright living room. He slowly sat down, skillfully opened the Tonghuashun software on the desktop, and quickly completed a series of complex operations, successfully transferring 500,000 yuan from his securities account to his designated bank account.
Shortly after the 500,000 yuan was transferred out, a crisp cell phone ringtone suddenly sounded. Wang Hu was slightly startled, quickly put down the mouse in his hand, and reached for the cell phone on the coffee table next to him.
When he saw the caller ID, a smile involuntarily crept onto his lips—the caller was Wang Mei, the beautiful and capable account manager from the securities company.
"Hello, Miss Wang, what can I do for you?" Wang Hu asked in a relaxed tone.
"Hello, Mr. Wang! We just detected that you transferred 500,000 yuan from your securities company account. We would like to confirm whether you personally completed this transaction?" Wang Mei's gentle and professional voice came from the other end of the phone.
“That’s right, I’m the one who transferred it out,” Wang Hu answered without hesitation.
"Oh, I see. No problem then. We're just doing a simple confirmation according to regulations. We hope we haven't bothered you. Finally, we wish you good health and a happy life!" Wang Mei said politely.
After ending the call with Wang Mei, Wang Hu gently pressed the hang-up button and then focused his attention back on the computer screen in front of him.
He quickly clicked into the stock trading page and began carefully examining the current stock trends. After thorough research and analysis, Wang Hu decided to follow his friend Yu Hui's advice and try making money through stock trading.
So he opened the stock list, his eyes scanning each line of data like a scanner. In order to maximize profits, Wang Hu specifically selected stocks whose prices were plummeting and whose green numbers were unsettling to look at.
Finally, among the many underperforming stocks, he spotted one that resonated most strongly with him. Without hesitation, Wang Hu immediately used the remaining one million yuan in his account to buy the stock in one go.
After finishing his work, Wang Hu deftly shut down his computer and got up to walk towards the second bedroom. Just as he reached the door, he heard a cacophony of chatter coming from inside, sounding quite lively.
Wang Hu pushed open the door and asked curiously, "What are you all doing here? Why is it so lively?"
One of them pointed angrily at the computer screen and said, "Someone is cursing at me, and we're discussing how to curse back. Also, several people are asking for refunds, and I really don't know what to do."
Wang Hu leaned closer to the computer screen for a quick glance, then replied without hesitation, "Ignore those who are cursing, just block them. As for those who want to return the goods, just send each of them a replacement. If they don't agree, just give them a refund. We're in this business to build our reputation. These things are consumables anyway, and the cost of one is only a dozen yuan, but we can sell them for over fifty yuan. Even if we send out an extra one, we'll still make a profit."
After hearing Wang Hu's words, the three women stared at him in disbelief. Seeing their reaction, Wang Hu was delighted, thinking they would praise him for being clever, capable, and quick-witted. So, he unconsciously puffed out his chest, raised his head, and struck a smug pose.
However, the next second, all that could be heard was the three women exclaiming in unison, "Oh dear, you really are a complete swindler!"
These words were like a bucket of cold water poured over his head, instantly stunning Wang Hu, who had been feeling quite self-satisfied. His eyes widened, and he questioned indignantly, "Why do you call me a profiteer? This is clearly a common tactic used by online store owners, everyone does it this way, it's not like I'm the only one doing it."
...
Wang Hu looked at Chen Linlin with a serious expression and said softly, "By the way, Linlin, I have something to tell you. I've put Zheng Jun in jail. If nothing unexpected happens, the police should be coming to find you soon to ask about the situation. But don't worry, just do as I say. He gave you some money before, right? Just tell the police that you don't know anything about it, and that you already returned the money to him when you broke up with him."
Hearing this, Chen Linlin was stunned. Her eyes widened, and she asked in confusion, "No, Wang Hu, what's going on? Didn't we agree to leave him alone for now and let him explode on his own?"
Wang Hu helplessly spread his hands, sighed, and explained, "There's nothing I can do, Linlin. After you were all asleep last night, I felt a bit suffocated, so I went downstairs for a walk. But I didn't expect that Zheng Jun would actually bring a bunch of people to ambush me! Luckily, I exercise regularly and am pretty good at fighting, otherwise, if it were an ordinary person, they would probably have broken their legs and be lying in the hospital by now."
Hearing this, Zhang Feng, who was standing to the side, was so angry that her eyebrows stood on end and her chest heaved violently. She shouted indignantly, "That damned Zheng Jun is simply too much! He really should be taught a lesson. This kind of person is like a poisonous snake; you never know when he'll bite you!"
Just then, Wang Hu took out his phone from his pocket, glanced at the screen casually, and noticed that the clock had already struck past one o'clock. He suddenly slapped his forehead and exclaimed, "Oh no, it's almost time for my driving practice! I have to hurry!" With that, he turned to leave.
