Chapter 44 Meditation Practice

Wang Hu dried his hair with a towel, walked towards the kitchen, hugged Meng Zhiyun from behind, and kissed her.

Ask Meng Zhiyun, "What did you do today?"

Meng Ziyun said, "Egg and lean meat porridge, didn't you want savory porridge? I made it for you."

Wang Hu said, "Xiao Meng is so nice, unlike Linlin who's such a lazy bum!"

Just then, Chen Linlin walked over and immediately grabbed Wang Hu's ear.

She shouted loudly in Wang Hu's ear, "Am I not good enough? I cooked a huge feast the day before yesterday, and you didn't come back. You even said I was lazy!"

Then came the loud "You dare say I'm lazy!"

"Let me be your lazy mother!" And then, with another "bang!"

After hitting her more than ten times, Chen Linlin stopped, turned her head away, and began to cry softly.

Wang Hu realized he'd gone too far with the joke. He'd just heard Chen Linlin was coming and deliberately said that to tease her, but it'd made her cry. What was he going to do?

Wang Hu quickly tried to comfort you, "I was just teasing you, that's why I said that. Don't cry, don't cry. Or you can hit me a couple more times."

Chen Linlin, who was standing next to her, turned her head away, snorted, and then started crying again.

Having no other choice, Wang Hu resorted to his ultimate move, picking up Chen Linlin and heading towards the bedroom, while Meng Zhiyun listened to the cat meowing outside for half an hour.

The food is ready, we can't not eat it, Meng Zhiyun knocked on the door, "The food is ready, come out and eat!"

Then Meng Zhiyun saw Wang Hu carrying Chen Linlin out. Seeing this, Meng Zhiyun was speechless.

Meng Zhiyun complained, "Are you two crazy? Time to eat! Time to eat! Don't you understand? How can we eat like this?"

Wang Hu looked at Chen Linlin after hearing this, and then said, "Why don't we come down first? Let's eat first?"

Chen Linlin was unhappy to hear this. She had been jealous earlier because Wang Hu had said Meng Zhiyun was better than her, so she wanted to monopolize Wang Hu. She hugged Wang Hu, pouted, and said, "No, I'll eat like this!"

Wang Hu had no choice but to carry Chen Linlin to the dining table. When they sat down, Chen Linlin gasped as if she had hit the table.

Wang Hu quickly asked, "What happened? Did you bump your head?"

"It's alright, it's alright, don't move. Xiao Meng, get me a bowl of porridge." She stopped Wang Hu, who was still trying to move.

Somewhat speechless, Xiao Meng placed a bowl of porridge in front of her, and then Chen Linlin asked Wang Hu to feed her.

Having no other choice, Wang Hu could only go along with her, taking a spoon and feeding her spoonful by spoonful.

The meal lasted for half an hour. She probably still hated Wang Hu a little, scratching and clawing at him until she finished eating. She finally calmed down and seemed to fall asleep on Wang Hu's shoulder.

Wang Hu carried her to the bedroom, put her on the bed, and covered her with a blanket. Then Wang Hu went out to eat, as he hadn't eaten well earlier and had only been looking after Chen Linlin.

When Meng Zhiyun saw Wang Hu come out and noticed that she was staring at her, she blushed, picked up her bag from the coffee table, and was about to leave when Wang Hu grabbed her and gave her a deep kiss before letting her go.

After finishing their meal, Wang Hu had just washed the pot when Chen Linlin woke up, jumped onto him, and wrapped her legs around his waist.

Wang Hu patted her: "What's wrong with you now? You were fine just now."

Chen Linlin nestled against his neck and whispered, "I'm afraid that one day you won't want me anymore, so I want to hug you now."

Wang Hu said, "How could I not want you? Unless you don't want me anymore!"

Chen Linlin asked him, "Why did you say this morning that Xiao Meng is better than me?"

Seeing that she was still dwelling on the issue, Wang Hu said, "I spotted you coming this morning, so I just wanted to tease you a little. I didn't expect you to cry. I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have made that kind of joke."

"Is it really just a joke?"

I'd be a dog if I really lied to you!

Chen Linlin said, "Okay, then carry me to take a bath. Xiao Meng has gone to work, and I want to go too! I want to be better than her, I can't be inferior to her."

Wang Hu was speechless. He really regretted making that joke. He had experienced the feeling of palace intrigue firsthand, and the emperor couldn't do anything about it. It was truly a feeling.

Wang Hu carried Chen Linlin to take a bath. After the bath, Chen Linlin got dressed and went to Zhang Li and Guan Xiaomei's place.

He sat cross-legged on the sofa, recalling the meditation steps he had learned online the day before.

First, he closed his eyes and began to take deep breaths, feeling the rhythm of each breath. As his breathing deepened, he gradually felt the flow of energy within his body and the presence of that spiritual power in his mind.

He tried to control this energy, but initially failed. Undeterred, he focused his mind again, and this time he succeeded. He used this mental power to observe his internal body, from his heart to his stomach and then to his kidneys.

When his mental energy passed through the area where energy flowed, he noticed that the energy seemed to be disturbed. So, Wang Hu began to try to control his mental energy and accelerate the flow of energy within his body. He succeeded.

He was surprised to find that the energy flow was accelerating, and he had begun to absorb light energy. Although this was much less than the energy he obtained from food, only a fraction of that obtained from food, he did feel the absorption of light energy.

As time went on, he discovered that the faster the energy cycled, the faster his mental strength grew. After two hours of meditation, he felt that he had reached the limit of his control.

At this point, he realized that this kind of cultivation could not continue indefinitely; once his control reached its limit, his mental power would be out of control.

Wang Hu slowly opened his eyes, ending his cultivation session. He understood that the cultivation of spiritual power needed to be moderate; excessive pursuit could lead to loss of control.
