A daughter from a prominent family is desired by many, yet the daughter of the Yong family is sought by none. Noble families consider her nouveau riche and vulgar, while scholarly houses pride them...
After the two maids left, Zhao Shu examined the pattern, finding nothing particularly unusual. She then beckoned Green Luo to her side and said, "Go and call Bi Qiao over."
Green Ivy, unsuspecting, curtsied and withdrew. The people she brought to the Marquis of Yiguang’s residence this time were few, only Bi Qiao, Uncle Fu, Granny Zhuang, Green Ivy, and two coachmen.
Bi Qiao and Granny Zhuang were tidying up the room where Zhao Shu and Prince Yong would rest for a while, and they had not yet come to this room.
After Green Ivy left, Zhao Shu was temporarily left without anyone to serve her. Jiang Jiaoling secretly glanced at her a few times. In the past, it was always Jiang Jiaoling who knew Zhao Shu, but Zhao Shu didn't know Jiang Jiaoling.
Rumor has it that Princess Jun is an arrogant, willful, and extravagant person with a large number of servants, but unexpectedly, she only takes a few maids with her when she goes out.
She was so nervous outside the door that she didn't notice anything amiss. Now, looking back, the princess seemed no different from an ordinary person, not at all as bad as the rumors suggested.
"Cousin, you're going out with so many people?" she wondered, and then asked. She immediately regretted it, feeling that she was really being inconsiderate, and her face turned red.
Seeing her blush, Zhao Shu wanted to laugh. Why did her cousin blush so easily? "Is there a problem?"
"No, no." Jiang Jiaoling quickly shook her head, as if she had asked Zhao Shu something she shouldn't have, and hurriedly lowered her head to fiddle with the needle and thread in her hands.
"Princess, your aunt has some things to attend to. She'll be right back to keep you company." Jiang Yue spoke up, standing up and heading out, looking eager to leave.
This auntie had been sitting there silently, like she was invisible. She hadn't said a word the whole way, and now that something had suddenly happened, she felt it couldn't be anything good.
As soon as Jiang Yue stepped out the door, the two older maids from before hurriedly came over and stood in front of her.
"Young lady, Madam says it's rare for the princess to come all this way, so please keep her company. Madam is going to prepare the meal and will be back soon," one of the maids said.
Jiang Yue didn't turn around or say anything. She forcefully pushed aside the two maids and rushed out.
Zhao Shu was astonished. This aunt looked like a delicate and frail lady, but she never expected her to have such explosive power.
The two maids fell to the ground, ignoring the pain, and scrambled to their feet without even a cry, chasing after the attackers.
Judging from their actions, it seems that this kind of thing happens frequently.
Jiang Jiaoling said to Zhao Shu, feeling embarrassed, "I'm sorry to have made you laugh, cousin. My aunt had an illness a few years ago and her mind is not quite right."
Zhao Shu was taken aback. "I heard from others that my aunt has health problems, which is why she is still unmarried. Cousin, is that true?" She was asking about the rumor that she couldn't have children.
Jiang Jiaoling shook her head, a puzzled expression on her face. "I don't know either. My mother doesn't let me ask about my aunt's affairs."
It is clear that she was unaware of this.
"Is Auntie having an attack? Let's go see her." Without waiting for Jiang Jiaoling's response, she stood up and walked out.
Just as Jiang Jiaoling stepped out the door, before she could even chase after Bi Qiao, Bi Qiao arrived.
Granny Zhuang walked behind Bi Qiao, looking flustered.
"Princess, are you injured?" She looked Zhao Shu up and down anxiously, and only breathed a sigh of relief when she found that she was unharmed.
"It's nothing." She didn't stop and chased after him.
Bi Qiao, not understanding what was going on, also chased after them. Granny Zhuang tried to stop the two of them, but couldn't. She only managed to catch Jiang Jiaoling, who had just stepped out of the door.
"Ling'er, what happened? Did the eldest young lady offend the princess?" Granny Zhuang asked anxiously.
Jiang Jiaoling's face instantly fell, but considering Zhao Shu's status, she didn't lash out. "What are you saying, Granny? My aunt hasn't even spoken to the princess, so how could you be being disrespectful?"
Granny Zhuang's face relaxed. It was good that she hadn't offended anyone. She had spoken hastily just now and quickly apologized, "Ling'er, you misunderstood. I just saw the eldest young lady rush out and thought something had happened, so I asked that question. I didn't mean anything by it."
"Ling'er understands. Granny is very protective of her mistress. My aunt was also quite rude just now. It was all our fault." Although Jiang Jiaoling was no longer angry, she did not speak kindly to Granny Zhuang.
When Zhao Shu chased after her, Jiang Yue had already disappeared. Instead, she ran into Green Ivy, who was struggling to catch up with Bi Qiao. Looking at the little girl, who was panting heavily, she asked, "Have you seen Auntie?"
"I saw the eldest young lady go to the front courtyard," Green Ivy said, panting.
Zhao Shu didn't care about anything else, lifted her skirt and headed towards the front yard, saying, "Let's go find Father."
“Prince…” Bi Qiao wanted to speak up to stop her. After all, this was the Marquis of Yiguang’s residence, not a royal residence. She couldn’t do whatever she wanted. Even as a princess, she should follow the host’s lead.
But she couldn't stop Zhao Shu in time and could only follow her.
After Zhao Shu and Bi Qiao left, Luoluo had just caught her breath when she had to chase after them. Behind her came the voice of Granny Zhuang, "Luoluo, where is the princess?"
"The princess has gone to find the prince," Green Ivy said pitifully to Granny Zhuang.
Jiang Jiaoling was also by Zhuang Mama's side. When she saw Zhao Shu go to the front yard, her intuition told her that something was bound to happen, so she hurriedly went to the front yard as well.
Several people chased each other, one after the other, until they arrived at the main hall in the front yard.
Zhao Shu saw from afar that two servants were blocking Jiang Yue outside, but Jiang Yue was extremely strong and started fighting with the servants. The servants did not dare to hurt her, but instead had their faces scratched by the servants' fingernails.
As she walked over, Jiang Suiji and the others came out. Jiang Suiji had an angry look on her face, and Jiang Zuo also had a gloomy expression. When Prince Yong saw Zhao Shu, he hurriedly beckoned her to come over.
"What's wrong?" Prince Yong asked.
Zhao Shu looked at Jiang Yue, only to see Jiang Yue staring blankly at Prince Yong. "My aunt suddenly rushed out of the room, and I was afraid something had happened to her, so I came to check on her."
