Rebirth of the New Wedding Night: Clinging to the Rugged Husband and Not Letting Go

Shen Heng, the village bully of Shili Village, has a fierce and intimidating persona.

To everyone's surprise, his newly wedded little wife is not afraid of him at all. In fact, she keeps ...

"Let's not talk about this anymore." Shen Heng pursed his lips.

"With Tang Hui around, we can rest easy. It's Li Xiulian's bad luck to have gotten involved with Tang Hui; no one can save someone who is destined to die."

“Then I’ll go queue up to buy train tickets this afternoon,” Yang Fenglin said. “Sister, while you’re on the train, tell me more about your Shili Village. I just heard a really interesting part.”

Bai Jiaojiao waved her hand: "There aren't that many interesting things. In the village, it's just about going to and from work. There's nothing to talk about."

Shen Heng glanced at Bai Jiaojiao and raised an eyebrow at her, saying, "What do you mean there's nothing to say? You could tell your brother a whole bunch of stories just about Li Xiulian."

"Really, brother-in-law? Is this Li Xiulian really that legendary?" Upon hearing this, Yang Fenglin quickly took two steps to Shen Heng's side, wanting to know more.

"It's not that Li Xiulian is a legend, it's that Li Xiulian has been extremely unlucky ever since your sister came to our Shili Village."

After Shen Heng finished speaking, Bai Jiaojiao punched him with her fist.

"I won't say anymore, I won't say anymore, okay?"

"You're just teasing me! I barely spoke a word to Li Xiulian in Shili Village. How could you blame me for all the messy things her family went through?"

Shen Heng said, "How could I dare to blame you?"

"Stop playing riddles, you two! Tell me what happened!"

Yang Fenglin became anxious when he saw the two of them fighting.

“Li Xiulian’s father used to be the village chief, but your sister brought him down. Li Xiulian’s husband’s father used to be the village captain, but your sister also brought him down. And Li Xiulian’s ex-husband went to jail, didn’t he? Your sister got him there too.”

"ah?"

Yang Fenglin took another look at the two people walking side by side and couldn't tell who was more terrifying.

"Don't listen to your brother-in-law's nonsense." If they weren't outside, Bai Jiaojiao would have really wanted to grab Shen Heng's arm and bite it a couple of times.

Yang Fenglin said, "Sister, tell me everything. What exactly happened? What's the conflict between her and Second Sister? Why did she push her? Tell me quickly!"

Yang Fenglin walked around to Bai Jiaojiao's side and looked down at his sister.

Bai Jiaojiao said, "Didn't you say we'd talk on the train? Let's talk about it when we get on the train home."

"No, sis, I can't sleep tonight!"

Bai Jiaojiao didn't say anything, and Yang Fenglin scratched his head, feeling restless and anxious.

They returned to the guesthouse, and Yang Fenglin went to queue for train tickets overnight. Their guesthouse was close to the station, so Yang Fenglin returned after buying the tickets.

"There are no more sleeper berths available, so we'll have to sit all the way back."

Fortunately, Yang Fenglin managed to buy three seats together, not separate ones, so that they could accommodate each other a bit when sitting together.

When Yang Fenglin arrived in Zhuzhou, he realized what it meant for a market to stay open all night. He even brought back some late-night snacks with him.

Bai Jiaojiao doesn't have the habit of eating dinner, but Shen Heng accepted some. The three of them went back to their respective rooms to rest, as they would be traveling all day tomorrow, which wouldn't be an easy task.

The hard-seat carriages on the train were a mixed bag. Because it was a popular route, people who couldn't buy tickets were all crammed together. Yang Fenglin was able to buy a hard-seat ticket because he was a soldier and had priority access.

Bai Jiaojiao sat at the very back of the carriage, so no one could squeeze her in. However, the carriage was mostly filled with men, and opposite them sat two heavy smokers, as well as a man whose eyes kept glancing at Bai Jiaojiao.

However, there was nothing Bai Jiaojiao could do about the harsh environment.

Yang Fenglin lost interest in hearing any more stories about Shili Village. He leaned back in his seat, closed his eyes, and tried to fall asleep.

However, the carriage was crowded, and the weather in Zhuzhou was hot. A fermented, sour smell permeated the air around everyone, making Yang Fenglin feel nauseous and unable to fall asleep.

Shen Heng let Bai Jiaojiao lean against him: "Take a nap, it won't be so hard to bear if you fall asleep."

"Um."

Bai Jiaojiao couldn't sleep either, but she still agreed. She rested her head on Shen Heng's shoulder, and faintly smelled the scent of laundry soap.

The carriage was very noisy. Some people were chatting, some were eating sunflower seeds, and some were carrying a bag of goods and going from seat to seat to promote them.

The same environment, when she came, Bai Jiaojiao was so anxious that she didn't care about these things at all, but when she went back, she suffered a bit.

Bai Jiaojiao only caught her breath after the two heavy smokers on the other side of the bus got off halfway.

"Heng-ge, I'm a little hungry, let's get something to eat."

Upon hearing Bai Jiaojiao's words, Yang Fenglin looked at his ten-yuan digital watch. He had only been on the bus for four hours, and there were still more than ten hours to go. He was really going to suffer terribly.

They had a lot of luggage, and there were pickpockets on the bus. Yang Fenglin and Shen Heng had to keep an eye on them together. Yang Fenglin felt that he had never suffered so much during training.

Shen Heng took out the lunchbox they had brought from his bag. It contained food they had gotten from a restaurant. Since it was hot, they weren't worried about eating cold food.

Cucumbers were essential; after eating a couple of bites of cucumber, Yang Fenglin felt a little more awake.

"Sis, it's so hot, I can't eat anything." Yang Fenglin hadn't eaten much in the car with Bai Jiaojiao when they arrived.

"Have some, Fenglin. I'll tell you a story after you finish eating."

Hearing Bai Jiaojiao say this, Yang Fenglin smiled and said, "You might be sleepy after eating and won't be able to listen to the story."

"It's even better if you're sleepy, then you should go to sleep for a while."

When you're full, you're more likely to doze off; no one can avoid that.

After the two old smokers got off, a couple with a child took their place. The little boy was about five or six years old, holding a round candy in his hand, putting it in his mouth and taking it out again, eating and playing at the same time. The couple watching the child didn't seem to mind the mess and were quietly discussing their own business.
