When the seas become polluted, followed by acidic rain, massive storms, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis, smog, extreme heat, blizzards, freezing cold, and various disasters kept occurring nonstop, mon...
After the battle, Junjue let out a long breath and sat down on the ground next to Wan'er.
Wan'er walked over, her face showing worry and gratitude.
She crouched down, gently touched Junjue's arm, and a warm smile appeared on her lips.
"Lord Jun, are you alright? Thank you for protecting me." Wan'er's voice was full of gratitude.
"With this smog, use your superpowers if you can! Nobody can see them anyway!"
"Don't worry, Wan'er, I can handle these mutated venomous snakes even without my special abilities." The reason why the Duke was so cautious was that he was afraid that those medical fanatics from his previous life would discover a rare person with special abilities and then use any means necessary to capture and study them.
Those who are captured are subjected to extremely cruel treatment, so they generally avoid using their superpowers if possible.
Because he couldn't keep living things in his own space, he couldn't guarantee that he wouldn't implicate Wan'er.
"Alright then! Anyway, thank you for protecting me, otherwise my head would have been bitten off just now," Wan'er said, still looking frightened.
It seems she's still too weak; her reaction time isn't good enough. She needs to take advantage of the current black smog and train harder.
Junjue smiled and shook his head, a determined glint in his eyes.
He dug out the red crystal cores of all the mutated animals and threw them into his spatial storage, then smiled and replied, "It's what I should do. I won't let any harm befall you."
The two looked at each other silently for a while, and then walked into the dilapidated wholesale market together.
Junjue Wan'er's figure, accompanied by a faint shadow cast on the ground, gradually disappeared into the crowd.
The corpses of the mutated venomous snakes lay scattered on the ground. They had once threatened the lives of Junjue and Wan'er, but now they had become a bloody backdrop.
The battle was over, but the Lord knew that a new crisis would soon emerge from the silence.
Hand in hand, Junjue and Wan'er slowly walked through the dilapidated entrance of the wholesale market. A stench of decay and rot hit them, causing them to involuntarily frown.
Slowly pushing open the door, weathered by time, the two stepped into the market.
The sight before him made his heart clench. The ground was littered with severed limbs and pieces of flesh. No one had escaped the attack by the mutated animals while searching for supplies. The tragic scene seemed to come from hell.
Junjue remained silent, leading Wan'er silently through this blood-soaked land. His eyes were filled with grief and pity, but also with a hint of wariness.
Looking around again, one still sees severed limbs and pieces of flesh scattered everywhere, with bloodstains everywhere.
These people were clearly killed by mutated animals, a sight that sank the hearts of the two men.
The scene before them alarmed the nobles, who carefully searched their surroundings, ready to respond immediately if they detected any danger.
Suddenly, Wan'er stepped on an object, making it difficult to see. She tried to squat down to pick it up, but was stopped.
"Wan'er, don't look. The ground is covered with the remains and scraps of flesh left behind by mutated animals."
"My Lord, how come there are so many severed limbs and pieces of flesh here? It seems this place has been attacked by a powerful enemy," Wan'er said to the Lord in a somewhat frightened manner.
Junjue nodded silently. He stretched out his finger and touched a pool of blood on the ground, saying in a low voice, "This blood hasn't dried yet. It seems that what happened here must have happened not long before we arrived."
The two lowered their guard and cautiously entered the wholesale market. The sight before them astonished them; everywhere they looked, there were clothes, shoes, socks, belts, and underwear.
A hint of joy appeared on Junjue's face: "These items will be very valuable in the future. If we move them all into our space, we will be able to live better. We can also exchange them for other things if we can't wear them all."
Wan'er nodded silently, and the two began to methodically store the goods into their own space.
Wan'er slung a stack of clothes over her shoulder, then turned to Junjue and said, "Have you packed everything up? Let's hurry up and leave; this place seems a bit ominous."
Just as the lord was about to speak, a deep voice suddenly rang out:
"Who are you?! Why are you stealing our things?!" Then, a huge figure slowly emerged from the shadows of the wholesale market.
A burly man, two meters tall, appeared before Junjue and Wan'er. He was very strong and his muscles were bulging.
He wielded a massive battle axe, exuding an imposing aura. Behind him followed a seemingly malevolent mutated beast, its silver fur gleaming with a ferocious light.
It looks like a mutated yellow dog, but why is it so ugly?
Wan'er immediately became alert, gripped the long knife in her hand tightly, and said coldly, "We are just passing by and have no intention of robbing you. We are just trying to survive."
"These were originally unclaimed items. When did we steal your things?" the Duke said coldly.
The burly man stared at Junjue with a sinister look, a cold smile playing on his lips:
Survive?
An unclaimed work?
"What I say is mine, is mine! How dare you try to kill me and take my things! You don't deserve to live!"
Junjue remained silent, knowing that the other party would not let them off easily.
He shielded Wan'er behind him, a bloodthirsty glint flashing in his eyes.
Upon seeing such a person, the violent impulses within him surged wildly. If Wan'er hadn't been by his side, that person would have died countless times already.
"Then let's see who's courting death!" Junjue retorted coldly.
"You're asking for it! I'll send you two scoundrels to hell right now!"
With a roar, the burly man with the battle axe charged forward like a lord.
