Chapter 7 My Shameless Roommate

Chi Chan struggled again but failed, and sank back into the mire.

Besides the unpleasantness in her life, Xiaochi Chan's academic performance, which she had always been proud of since junior high school, plummeted after she entered the city's No. 1 High School.

The quality of education differs drastically between urban and rural areas.

Her score of tenth in the county's high school entrance exam made her seem to be on the same starting line as her classmates from the city's No. 1 High School.

But that's not actually the case. High school classes are very fast-paced and the course content is more difficult.

The classmates understood it immediately and grasped it quickly. Even if they didn't understand, there were tutoring classes outside of class to help them figure it out.

But Chi Chan had nothing; she didn't even know that tutoring classes or private tutors existed.

After entering high school, Chi Chan found it very difficult to keep up with the overall pace of the courses.

Isolation and oppression in life, coupled with numerous obstacles in studies, gradually made Chi Chan's personality become taciturn, introverted, and sensitive.

Not a single student in Class 27 would initiate a conversation with her, let alone study together.

Back then, Chi Chan didn't even dare to raise her hand to ask the teacher a question.

This personality trait persisted until Chi Chan graduated from university. It wasn't until Chi Minghe's accident, when Chi Chan had to shoulder the burden of the family, that she gradually changed.

It wasn't until she entered society that Chi Chan understood a certain truth.

Her kindness and concession, her naivety and politeness, were seen by others as making her easy to bully.

She is not assertive and inflexible in her dealings with others. Because she is overly self-conscious, she cares a lot about what others think of her.

This led others to perceive Chi Chan as weak and easily bullied.

This society has always been a world where the strong prey on the weak.

Whether in adult society or in the ivory tower of high school.

The law of the jungle, survival of the fittest, has never changed.
