In her past life, her mother-in-law forced Xiaoyue and Little Bean to live in a cattle shed.

Xiaoyue had to wake up before dawn to cook for the whole family every day.

She also had to g...

Chapter 54 Liang Qi Gets Entangled

Xiaoyue drew her knife and placed it back where it was. The man's legs were covered in blood and a wet liquid that soaked his pants, and his legs were trembling. Xiaoyue shouted to the three men, "Retreat a hundred meters away, quickly."

Xiaoyue glanced at the three men, then looked at the leader with a hesitant expression. Without hesitation, Xiaoyue stabbed the man in the inside of his other thigh. The man could no longer stand and fell forward towards Xiaoyue.

Xiaoyue tried to climb over to control the head of the fallen man, but it was too late. The three men, seeing their companion fall, pounced on him together.

When Xiaoyue saw the three men rushing towards her, she held a knife in her hand and placed it against her own neck.

To be honest, Xiaoyue was a little afraid of being kidnapped. Before Ge Sanlin brought her back, she had been imprisoned by kidnappers for two years. Once, when she tried to escape, she was caught by the kidnappers and hit on the head. It took her more than half a year to recover, but she couldn't remember anything from before.

Thinking to myself, "It's been so long, why hasn't Liang Qi come yet?"

Xiaoyue hadn't expected that when Uncle Liang drove the oxcart to the village, only Ge Erping and Liang Qi remained. Uncle Liang handed the cart to Liang Qi, who then drove it to the village and arrived at Old Man Ge's house.

Ge Erping didn't get out of the car, repeatedly saying he wanted to go to Xiaoyue's house to check on her. Liang Qi didn't dare to take Ge Erping to Xiaoyue's house, because there were three grown men, Yun Xingfei and the other two, at Xiaoyue's house.

He then urged Ge Erping to get out of the car, and Ge Erping said to Liang Qi, "Brother Liang, why don't you come to my house for a drink of water?"

Liang Qi nodded, gestured to pull the oxcart to the side, and Ge Erping jumped off. Liang Qi quickly started driving again, and they drove all the way to Xiaoyue's house, where they carried the large basket into the yard.

They quickly turned the oxcart around and headed out. When they passed by Old Man Ge's house, Ge Erping stopped the oxcart and insisted that Liang Qi come to her house for a meal. How could Liang Qi go to eat at a house he didn't know?

But Ge Erping refused to leave no matter what. In the midst of his commotion, when Ge Erping waved to Liang Qi, he accidentally bumped into Lao Niu's eyelashes. Lao Niu immediately nudged Ge Erping, and Ge Erping fell to the ground from the force of the impact.

With no other option, Liang Qi could only tie up the oxcart, pick up the sobbing Ge Erping, and carry him into the courtyard.

Ge Erping held Liang Qi's hand, saying he was scared and in pain at the same time, leaving Liang Qi in a dilemma and anxious.

They carried her into the main courtyard. Old Man Ge wasn't home; only Old Lady Ge was there. Seeing the girl being brought in, she immediately threw herself into Ge Erping's arms, bursting into tears and saying between sobs:

"Erpingzi, you're not even engaged yet, how come you've let a man bring you home? Don't you have any shame? I can't afford to lose face like this."

She wouldn't let Liang Qi put Ge Erping on the kang (a heated brick bed), and instead, with one foot in and one foot out of the door, she howled, "You brat, I'll beat you to death!" As she spoke, she started slapping Ge Erping, who was being held in Liang Qi's arms.

Liang Qi hesitated for a moment, then said, "Aunt Ge, let me put Ge Erping on the kang first, and then find a doctor to take a look at him. She was frightened by the ox I was driving the cart."

Grandma Ge: "Oh, oh," but she didn't move.

Liang Qi frowned and said, "Aunt Ge, take two steps back. You're blocking my way. How am I supposed to put her on the kang?"

"Alright, alright, put him on the kang (heated brick bed)."

Liang Qi carried Ge Erping into the house and was about to put her down on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed). As soon as she touched the kang, Ge Erping started crying, grabbing Liang Qi's arm and shouting, "It hurts! I can't take it, Brother Liang! I can't stand the pain when I lie down on the kang!"

With a gloomy face and gritting his teeth, Liang Qi slowly said, "Aunt Ge, find a quilt for Ge Erping to put on the bed."

Grandma Ge took off her shoes, slowly climbed onto the kang (a heated brick bed), opened the kang cabinet, and pulled the quilt outwards from the middle.

Liang Qi, who was standing on the ground holding Ge Erping, was so anxious that he wished he could jump onto the kang (a heated brick bed) and help the old lady Ge pull out the quilt.

Perhaps Grandma Ge wasn't strong enough, so she tried a different method. First, she took off the mattress, then took out the quilt, and then put the mattress back. She didn't seem to be in a hurry at all.

Grandma Ge slowly placed the quilt on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed). Liang Qi quickly put Ge Erping down, before Ge Erping could even cry out in pain. He also helped her turn to the side and was about to leave when Ge Erping's hand tightly gripped Liang Qi's sleeve.

Ge Erping indeed forgot to cry out in pain; he just gripped his sleeve tightly, tears streaming down his face, and looked at Liang Qi with a pitiful expression.

Helpless, Liang Qi suppressed his anger and comforted Ge Erping: "I'll go find you a doctor."

Upon hearing this, Grandma Ge quickly jumped off the kang (a heated brick bed), put on her shoes, and hurriedly said, "I'll go, I'll go."

With a heavy heart, Liang Qi took the scissors from the basket and cut off his own sleeve.

He hurriedly said, "Aunt Ge, it would be even better if you went. I have other things to do, so I'll take my leave." After saying that, Liang Qi quickly jumped out.

...

Meanwhile, Xiaoyue held a knife to her own neck, but the three men didn't care at all and approached her with cold expressions.

Xiaoyue couldn't keep up with the approaching three men at the same time. She spotted one of them, a man who had caught up with her. He had a scar on the corner of his mouth, and his upper and lower lips had been covered up with the scar.

Seeing that the man was relatively weak, Xiaoyue tiptoed closer to him, with the knife still against her own neck.

The three of them took another step closer to Xiaoyue, just one step away. The two of them moved together, one rushing towards the knife, and the other using a sweeping kick. The leader was staring at Xiaoyue.

Xiaoyue instinctively lunged at the man with the knife, but was swept away by Sihu's leg, and the knife missed its mark, instead piercing the foot of the fallen man.

The two men immediately tied Xiaoyue up, and then proceeded to beat and kick her mercilessly.

The leader stopped the two men, saying, "If we kill her, we won't get the final payment."

Sihu grabbed the rope binding the person and lifted Xiaoyue into the air, while the other person carried the person lying on the ground on their back.

After a few steps out of the woods, the man named Si Hu said angrily, "Boss, we have to make him give us more money. Third Brother was hurt so badly by that little wench."

The old man said, "It's not about the extra money. You guys are all brainless. Do you really need to hire four people to deal with a young woman? It's obvious that this young woman is not easy to handle."

Xiaoyue was being held upside down by the four tigers, her head throbbing with blood.

"Did Fatty Ren hire you? How much silver did he pay you?" Xiaoyue's mouth was full of blood, and her voice was unclear.

Holding his four tigers, he took the opportunity to kick Xiaoyue again: "Stop talking nonsense."

Xiaoyue's head was throbbing and her eyes were dizzy. She said intermittently, "He didn't just hire one group of people from you. There was another group with only one person, and he gave him a hundred taels of silver."

"What? He only gave us 100 taels? Damn it, he only gave us 50 taels for the four of us. No way, we have to talk to him about this." Sihu said immediately upon hearing this.
