Ye Yunxi and the others smiled but did not answer Lu Hengyi's mother's question.

Just then, a woman walked over, saw Ye Yunxi and the others there, looked them up and down, and then noticed what they were carrying. She said something sarcastic.

"Oh, I wondered who this was. It turns out it's the person the old man has been thinking about."

Ye Yunxi frowned; this person was not Lu Hengyi's second aunt.

When Lu Hengyi's mother saw her younger brother and sister-in-law arrive and hear these words, her face darkened.

Fu Heng and Xuan Yu didn't know Lu Hengyi's second aunt, but their expressions turned sour when they heard her say that.

When Lu Hengyi's second aunt saw that they were all silent, she was about to speak when she heard the voice of the Lu family patriarch coming from outside.

"Yunxi, you've arrived."

Upon hearing Old Master Lu's voice, both of Lu's daughters-in-law stepped aside, making way for him.

Ye Yunxi greeted the arrival of the Lu family patriarch with a smile.

"Hello, Grandpa Lu."

The old master of the Lu family walked in, smiling broadly.

Ye Yunxi smiled and said to Grandpa Lu.

"This is Fu Heng, my boyfriend, and this is my younger brother, Ye Xuanyu."

Fu Heng and Xuan Yu greeted Grandpa Lu politely.

Grandpa Lu looked at the two of them with a smile, then, as if he had thought of something, he looked at Ye Yunxi and asked.

"Yunxi, I remember you're the only daughter in the Ye family, where did this little brother come from?"

Ye Yunxi remained calm and explained to Grandpa Lu.

“Xuanyu is someone I met outside. He’s been with me for a long time; he’s like family to me.”

Before Old Master Lu could speak, Lu Hengyi's second aunt said something sarcastic again.

"Oh, so he was picked up from outside. I thought he was the Ye family's son!"

Ye Yunxi glanced at her coldly and said in a cold voice.

"So what if they were found? To me, they are my family, and that's enough."

Grandpa Lu looked over, gesturing for her to shut up. He then turned to Ye Yunxi, smiling apologetically.

"Yunxi, calm down, let's not stoop to her level."

Ye Yunxi nodded. There was indeed no need to get angry over a crazy woman.

Then, Fu Heng took out the gift he had prepared beforehand and handed it to the old master of the Lu family.

"Grandpa Lu, this is a small token of our appreciation. It contains two bottles of wine, two boxes of tea, and some preserved meat. Liu An also has three bottles of nutritional supplements for Grandpa Lu to help him recover."

The patriarch of the Lu family chuckled as he took the things from Fu Heng's hands and said to them.

"You're here, why bring a gift?"

Ye Yunxi smiled and said nothing. But Lu Hengyi's second aunt couldn't control her mouth. She just gave a soft snort.

"Two bottles of wine, two boxes of tea, a little bit of cured meat, do you think the Lu family has nothing? And that nutrient solution, I've never even heard of it, it's probably just ordinary water."

Lu Hengyi's second uncle couldn't stand it anymore and said to Ye Yunxi.

Ye Yunxi said casually.

"Whoever speaks is the one we should be watching."

Lu Hengyi's second uncle wanted to continue lecturing her, but Old Master Lu gave him a cold look and said something.

"Enough! I've always turned a blind eye to what you've done. Yunxi is someone I invited; who gave you permission to act so presumptuously here?"

The second son and daughter-in-law of the Lu family were scolded and dared not say another word. They wondered if the old man had found out about the poisoning.

Grandpa Lu said with a smile to Ye Yunxi and the others.

"Yunxi, don't worry, no one in the Lu family will bully you. As long as I'm here, no one can bully you."

The eldest son of the Lu family said, as if trying to curry favor.

"Yes, don't worry, no one in the Lu family will bully you, unless they're blind."

Lu Hengyi, his aunt, and his uncle all spoke well of Ye Yunxi and the others.

The whole family was extremely grateful to Ye Yunxi for saving the old man's life. Who would be so foolish as to curse their savior? Especially since she was the granddaughter of the old man's best friend, they would never dare to.

Seeing that the elders of the Lu family were all speaking well of them, Ye Yunxi felt that if she were to argue, it would make her seem petty. Besides, she had come to see Grandpa Lu, not anyone else.
