Reborn and Divorced: I'm Raising My Kids and Lying Low to Get Rich

Opening her eyes, Chen Hong was reborn. She was reborn just before she was about to take her children back to her parents' home. Not wanting to live a life of looking at others' faces for a...

Chapter 24 Stocks

Seeing Chen Hong's enthusiasm, the two staff members packed up their tools, drank a cup of tea, and accepted the pears Chen Hong offered. After eating them, they both praised how delicious they were. They left their contact information with Chen Hong, telling her to call them directly if she encountered any problems with her computer, and then prepared to leave with their tool bags.

Seeing how hard the two men worked, Chen Hong packed a dozen or so pears for them to eat on their journey. The two men happily accepted the pears, thanked her, and drove back.

After seeing the installation crew off, Chen Hong turned on her computer and downloaded the securities company's app. She opened the official website, logged into her account, checked the bank account Wang Ping had linked for her the day before, and reset her trading password.

I tried to buy five stocks online: Guangzhou Shipyard International, China Shipbuilding Industry, China Merchants Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and Shenzhen Development Bank, paying 30,000 yuan, 20,000 yuan, 2,000 yuan, 2,000 yuan, and 1,000 yuan respectively.

Chen Hong recalled that the first two stocks reached their peak in early October 2007, and she would sell them by early October of the following year; the bank stocks could be held until after 2008, and the Shenzhen Development Bank stocks could be held until the very end.

After buying the stocks, Chen Hong only had a little over 1,700 yuan left in her card. She had bought too many things during this period, including a tractor, a tricycle, a computer, and an electric wheelchair, all of which were major expenses.

Upon closer inspection, Chen Hong realized that in the few days following her divorce, she had spent several thousand dollars just on purchasing items and then bought stocks, leaving her with very little money.

No, I need to finish tidying up the fields this afternoon and focus on making money. Having lived a life of poverty in her previous life, Chen Hong felt anxious about not having any money.

Chen Hong quickly made some noodles, ate her meal, washed the dishes, fed the chickens and ducks, put down the wine caps, and Yu Yang returned after finishing his work. The mother and son took a shower and then took a nap together.

In the afternoon, Chen Hong and her son were fully equipped with long-sleeved shirts, long pants, rubber boots, and sun hats, and went to the fields to weed with hoes, water bottles, and baskets on their backs.

The mother and daughter worked hard all afternoon, sweating profusely, and finally finished weeding the field. They were just waiting for the harvest and wouldn't have to work in the fields for a while.

It was getting dark when the mother and daughter finally finished their work and returned home. As soon as they entered the house, they put down their tools, changed their clothes, washed their hands, and sat down to rest in the main room.

She handed Yu Yang a pear, turned on the TV and let her son rest. The child had been helping her with chores all afternoon without complaining of being tired; he had really grown up and become sensible! Chen Hong went to the backyard to collect eggs and pick vegetables, then returned to the kitchen to cook dinner.

Neither mother nor daughter were in a good mood today, so we made something delicious: steamed three buns, cooked mung bean and rice porridge in the rice cooker, stir-fried some shredded pork and green beans, and made braised fish with a red snapper. Half an hour later, the two of them were eating dinner.

After dinner and washing up, the mother and son watched TV together. Before the series even finished, Yu Yang fell asleep in his mother's arms. Watching her son snoring softly, a single glistening drop of drool escaping his lips, Chen Hong picked him up, kissed him, and carried him to bed.

She positioned her son comfortably and covered him with a light blanket. Chen Hong then capped the wine bottle, covered it with gauze, and went to the backyard to water the vegetable garden with a flashlight. The garden hadn't been watered for three or four days, and the soil was a bit dry.

After checking that the gate was locked, I went back inside, turned off the TV, went into the living room from the bathroom, and quickly dug more than 50 tree pits. I also dug a small pond measuring 3×3×3 meters, filled it with river water, and will buy some freshwater fish to try when I have the chance.

The honeysuckle canopy has doubled in size, with each tree nearly 2 meters in diameter, and many flowers have already bloomed. It would be a waste if we didn't pick them soon.

Chen Hong picked up her basket and started picking. She picked for more than an hour and finished picking all the flower buds that could be picked. She collected more than half a basket, which she estimated to weigh more than 20 jin. She would put it on the roof to dry tomorrow, and it would be dry in two days.

The leaves of the mother tea tree are plump and large, and many branches have sprouted. It looks like it's time to pick them. I'm too tired today, so I'll save them for tomorrow night!

After gathering her tools, Chen Hong left her space to wash up and go to sleep. She hadn't even done yoga today, having been busy until 2 a.m. She wasn't going to do anything else; she had to go out to sea to earn money tomorrow!

Upon waking up, Chen Hong first checked the weather forecast on her phone: Sunny in the Bohai Sea, temperature 22°C-28°C, northeasterly wind force 1. Heavy to torrential rain is expected in the next two days.

It seems today is a good day to go out to sea, but the weather will change in the next two days. I washed up, fed the chickens and ducks, put the wine caps on the wine jars, dried the honeysuckle, made breakfast, and after everything was done and the food was laid out, I woke my son up to eat.

While eating, Chen Hong told her son, "Mom is going out to sea today. You're going to Grandpa's house. I'll come back to pick you up tonight. Be a good boy and don't run around. Tell Grandpa before you go to anyone's house. Do you understand, son?"

Upon hearing his mother's instructions, Yu Yang said, "Mom, aren't you taking me with you today? I'm very useful; I can help you find fish."

Chen Hong explained to Yang, "Mom knows you're very capable and can help Mom. I'll take you next time. Today, Mom has to drive a long way and it will take all day. We probably won't be home until it's almost dark."

The weather forecast says it will rain heavily tomorrow and the day after. If it rains heavily, Mom won't be able to go out to sea. So Mom will try to catch as many fish as possible today.

After dinner, Chen Hong packed Yu Yang some snacks and yogurt, then sent him to the old house. Chen Hong put things that could be stored in her spatial storage into her space, and put things that could fit in the tricycle into the tricycle.

I took three steamed buns that I had prepared that morning, and put the cooked porridge, pot and bowl, into my spatial storage. I also took three large plastic crates that could hold 200 jin (100 kg) of fish, and put all the electric winches into my spatial storage, then locked the door.

After buying some fish bait and two boxes of crushed ice at the village supermarket in her tricycle, Chen Hong went to the dock to have someone fill up the boat with gas and set sail.

Heading north, crossing the Yellow Sea to reach the Bohai Strait, Chen Hong spent more than three hours finding a good fishing spot near the reefs of Lantau Island. There were also three fishing boats fishing about two nautical miles away.
