Opening her eyes, Chen Hong was reborn. She was reborn just before she was about to take her children back to her parents' home. Not wanting to live a life of looking at others' faces for a...
Black Tiger wagged its tail, sniffed for a while, remembered the scent, and then ran out.
Chen Hong looked at the thick layer of dried bamboo leaves under the bamboo forest. She wondered how many decades it had been since anyone had set foot here. On the damp ground, more than a dozen bamboo fungi had grown.
Wearing a small, wrinkled gray-black hat, with fair and slender legs. Some wore long skirts, some wore short skirts, and some had their long, jade-like legs bare, wearing a large gray steel helmet.
They all have one thing in common: they are standing on a small rubber boat.
Their ancestors may have evolved from the sea, and after hundreds of millions of years, they still remembered to carry lifeboats with them—a tradition written into their genes.
There were also bamboo shoots all over the ground, each one as long as a thick water pipe in the house, some as tall as half a meter, and some as short as twenty or thirty centimeters, but they weren't as thick as moso bamboo shoots.
However, it is about the thickness of a baby's arm, and it is the season when it is white, tender and sweet. This kind of bamboo shoot is even tastier than the moso bamboo shoot. It is a very crisp and tender sweet bamboo shoot.
Chen Hong spotted the tender bamboo shoots and kicked them with her foot, "snap!" one, "snap!" one, "snap!" The crisp sound was incredibly satisfying to hear!
After kicking down all the decent bamboo shoots in the dozen or so square meters, Chen Hong took out a basket from her spatial storage and bent down to pick them up one by one from the ground. In just over ten minutes, she filled the basket to the brim.
Chen Hong slowly moved forward, first picking the bamboo fungus she found, then kicking off the plump bamboo shoots one by one with her feet. After kicking them, she took out a bamboo basket and started filling it with the contents.
And so, Chen Hong continued her search along a straight line, leaving no stone unturned in her wake. The bamboo fungus was gone, and she had almost completely harvested the larger bamboo shoots.
Chen Hong was kicking bamboo shoots with great enthusiasm when Black Tiger came running back, panting, grabbed Chen Hong's trouser leg, and pulled her forward, signaling her to follow it.
Chen Hong quickly reassured Black Tiger, "Don't rush, let me pick up all the broken pieces, otherwise they'll be wasted!"
After Chen Hong finished picking up the bamboo shoots, she followed Black Tiger to find bamboo fungus.
After walking more than a hundred meters, the plump bamboo shoots in the bamboo forest made Chen Hong feel a little weak. Along the way, she kept kicking them with a snapping sound, picking them up and throwing them into her space.
I don't know how many bamboo shoots they collected along the way. I only saw Black Tiger anxiously turning around to nibble at her trouser leg, then running forward. When she couldn't keep up, he would turn around to nibble at her trouser leg again, going back and forth like this.
Seeing that the dog was getting impatient, Chen Hong quickly controlled her feet and hands, and ran forward to keep up with the dog's speed.
Suddenly, Chen Hong felt as if she had entered a Western fantasy world. Within her sight, this small area was filled with long-legged fairies in white dresses!
This place seems to be a kingdom of elves, where pure white elves are holding a grand square festival. Some elves are in groups of three or five, some are in small teams of dozens, some are families of three, and some are acting alone.
It's amazing! There are bamboo forests deep in the mountains of the north, and at the end of the bamboo forest is a hot spring hidden in a cave. Deep in the bamboo forest, there is also a large area of bamboo fungus.
Nature is such a wondrous thing, making everything irrational seem reasonable.
Chen Hong was absolutely ecstatic. She had completely forgotten about the toon sprouts, the tender shoots of the wild thorns, and the tea leaves. Only this large patch of bamboo fungus was truly delicious!
Chen Hong took out a very large plastic basket from her spatial storage and carefully stepped on it, afraid of accidentally stepping on the bamboo fungus. Each one was a treasure!
Chen Hong started by working in open areas, gradually consuming the bamboo fungus on the ground.
Chen Hong prioritizes speed, picking only the muddy outer shell from the roots of the bamboo fungus before putting them into a plastic basket. There's no time or energy left to remove the small gray caps on the tops of the fungus.
She planned to roughly select the roots with soil attached, and then carefully select the tops when she got home. By the time she had completely harvested this large patch of bamboo fungus, the space would have contained at least several hundred kilograms.
Before leaving, Chen Hong took out a large iron shovel from her spatial storage and began scraping the ground where there was a lot of mycelium. She scraped for three or four square meters before stopping and putting the shovel away.
Seeing that it was getting late, Chen Hong, with Black Tiger in tow, didn't linger any longer and quickly ran back over the mountaintop. When passing the fifth and fourth valleys, she only had time to casually pick a small basket of wild aralia shoots and toon sprouts.
It was too late, so they didn't dare linger any longer. The man and the dog quickly ran back the way they had come.
Fortunately, she didn't need to explore or find her way back, and Chen Hong was still quite fast. After passing the small tea grove in the third valley, Chen Hong didn't dare to turn and ran back as fast as she could. By the time she got down the mountain, it was already past seven o'clock.
When I got home, my son had already come home from school and was sitting alone in the living room, eating snacks and watching TV with Glasses. They must have been hungry.
Chen Hong first put the basket in the storage room, washed her hands and face, changed her clothes, and prepared to cook for the children.
Yu Yang knew from his mother's appearance that she had gone up the mountain again, so he quickly helped Black Tiger take a bath in the bathroom. After running around all day, Black Tiger was very dirty.
Chen Hong spoke to her son, "I'm sorry, Xiaobao, Mom is back too late. Are you hungry? I'll cook right away and make you something delicious today. Mom picked some really tasty mountain delicacies today."
Chen Hong nimbly entered the kitchen, stewed bamboo fungus and pork ribs, stir-fried cured pork with fresh bamboo shoots, and made stir-fried aralia shoots with eggs. The staple food was rice.
The bamboo fungus was so delicious today! The taste was very different from the soaked dried fungus. It was fresh, tender, and fragrant. My daughter and I couldn't stop eating it.
