Reborn and Divorced: I'm Raising My Kids and Lying Low to Get Rich

Opening her eyes, Chen Hong was reborn. She was reborn just before she was about to take her children back to her parents' home. Not wanting to live a life of looking at others' faces for a...

Chapter 9 Female Rogue

A mix of emotions churned within her as Chen Hong gazed quietly out the window. "Hello, may I sit here?" a clear voice called out beside her.

"Okay, I'm leaving soon after I finish eating." Chen Hong turned around and saw a beautiful girl smiling at her. She was tall and thin, with neat short hair, wearing a light blue dress and white high-heeled shoes. She was carrying a small white handbag. She sat down opposite Chen Hong, with single eyelids, a small nose, and thin lips.

"Chen Hong, don't you recognize me? I'm Yang Xiaomei from Haiwan Village, Yu Hai's junior high school classmate. We even met during the Spring Festival! It's only been half a year, and you don't recognize me?"

"Oh, it's you! I thought that voice sounded familiar, but I didn't expect it to be you. What are you doing here? I didn't even realize it was you." Chen Hong quickly responded. In her previous life, they hadn't seen each other for more than ten years. If she hadn't introduced herself, she would have just thought the face looked familiar but hadn't recognized her at all.

“My dad came to the Maritime Safety Administration to take care of some business, so I came with him. What about you? Who did you come with, and what are you here for?” Yang Xiaomei asked Chen Hong.

"I came to the Maritime Safety Administration to take care of some business, but I'm late and they've already closed. I'll have to go back this afternoon when they open."

"What's wrong? Can you tell me? My cousin works at the Maritime Safety Administration. If you need any help, just say the word. There are no outsiders here," Yang Xiaomei said readily.

"It's nothing major, just inquiring about changing the fishing license and fishing boat."

"Do you need to change the paperwork for buying or selling a boat?" Yang Xiaomei asked, puzzled.

"No, it's not that. You and my father-in-law are getting old and their health isn't good. They haven't been able to go out to sea to fish for several years. Now that I heard the policy has changed, they've simply transferred all the paperwork to me to avoid any trouble if they violate the regulations when they go out to sea to fish in the future."

Because it was a public place with many people coming and going, Chen Hong didn't tell Yang Xiaomei about her divorce from Yu Hai.

“You’ve thought of everything very carefully. Let me tell you, my cousin told my dad that the higher-ups have already issued a document that fishing boats that are registered will receive subsidies during the fishing ban period, while those that are not registered will not receive subsidies. Those with fishing licenses will also receive subsidies. They said that we also need to learn how to get a captain’s license and so on. Anyway, big boats have big boat licenses and small boats have small boat licenses. They all have to be registered and are not allowed to fish illegally.”

"I didn't quite understand either, but it means the government will be stricter in the future, and you'll need all the paperwork. If you want to get it done, hurry up and do it so you can get some money when the subsidies are implemented. My dad finished most of it this morning, and he's going to the navigation school this afternoon to register for the captain's license exam. Once you're at work, just go find my cousin, Yang Wei, and ask him to help you. We did it once this morning, it's the same process." Yang Xiaomei kept talking like a machine gun.

With a "pfft," Chen Hong burst out laughing, "What kind of name is this? Who came up with this? Didn't they think it through?"

"My grandfather named it. Back then, all we thought about was the great Chairman, the great motherland, the great People's Liberation Army, and the great people. Everything was great back then, and we didn't think it sounded bad. Who knew it would sound so...unpleasant to listen to now!"

Yang Xiaomei initially looked embarrassed, but the more she talked, the funnier she found it. By the end, she was laughing so hard she was making a goose-like sound.

Chen Hong also laughed out loud, but then she suddenly realized something was wrong. She glanced around the hotel lobby and saw that almost everyone had stopped what they were doing and were staring at the two women who were laughing hysterically, as if they were crazy.

Chen Hong's laughter stopped abruptly. She grabbed her bag, pulled Yang Xiaomei along, and ran out of the restaurant, sprinting along the sidewalk.

The two ran and laughed, passing three stores before stopping by the roadside, leaning against a roadside tree, laughing and panting.

"Oh my god, I'm dying of laughter today, you're so funny! I've never been this crazy since I graduated from high school. People must think we're both insane. Luckily we ran fast, otherwise the restaurant owner would have had to make us laugh."

As she was talking, she suddenly remembered that she had almost been mistaken for a "lunatic" at the Civil Affairs Bureau that morning, and Zhen Hong couldn't help but burst into laughter again. She had been mistaken for a "lunatic" twice in one day. What a wonderful day!

Yang Xiaomei slowly stopped laughing, her eyes gleaming with lust as she stared at Chen Hong's trembling, heaving chest. "Hey, Chen Hong, I just noticed your breasts have grown again! How did you do that? Is it because you had a baby or is it thanks to Yu Hai? Teach me! Look at me, my chest is as flat as a primary school student's. I don't even dare to go out without wearing a padded bra!"

"Every time we meet, you can't focus on the important things. Can't you just look at my face? Why do you have to look here? Women who have given birth have thicker skin."

Chen Hong abruptly stopped laughing and glared at her. "You used to peek secretly, now you stare straight at her. You're becoming more and more like a female hooligan. Where's your face? Where did the shy Yang Xiaomei go?"

"What's the point of saving face? I'm a married woman now, what's the use of saving face? Sexual happiness is the most important thing. I figured that out ages ago." Yang Xiaomei said indifferently.

"What's wrong? Are you unhappy with your life? Has Zhang Jun changed his mind?" Chen Hong asked gossipy.

“No, it’s just that when I’m out on the street, I see women from X University staring at me, and it makes me feel really uncomfortable. You see, my chest has been flat since junior high school. I used to comfort myself by thinking that it would develop again after having children. But my children have all grown up, and my chest hasn’t changed at all. You see, the women on the street are dressing more and more daringly, and I feel more and more uneasy!” Yang Xiaomei’s voice was low, and her face showed bitterness.

Chen Hong felt a pang of sadness seeing the woman who had just been so generous and cheerful become so self-conscious.

"I do have some methods, but whether they work or not depends on the individual. After all, everyone's constitution is different, and the effects will vary. But there will definitely be some improvement. If you want to try, come to my house when you have time and I will teach you. It's hard to say right now."
