Chapter 3 Lingling Cub Comes to the Tree Nursery

It was called an inspection, but along the way, it was actually just Blue who enthusiastically acted as a tour guide, not caring whether Lingling could understand him or not.

Luckily, Lingling had a translator with her. Not only did she understand, she also made a point of being polite and playing the role of a cheerleader, clapping her hands and saying "Ahhh" twice.

"This is the core of our tribe's territory - the Holy Lake." Blue pointed to a shimmering lake not far away. The lake was not big, about the size of a football field.

The lake water is emerald green, and seems to contain some kind of energy, full of vitality, like a piece of jade, magnificent under the sunlight.

"We, the Tree People, are unlike other races. We live in the elements and don't need to eat, but sunlight and water are essential. That's why we chose this lake and its surroundings, where the element of life is most abundant, as our territory."

As he spoke, he tapped Lingling's nose with a branch, attracting her attention. He then guided her to look at the area not far behind the Holy Lake. "Behind the Holy Lake is our clan's sacred tree. The tree house near the roots is the tree nursery. That's where you'll live from now on."

Behind the holy lake, there is a towering tree with lush branches and leaves, about a hundred meters high and about twenty meters in diameter at the base. It is strong and tall, with leaves as big as an adult's palm. The whole tree is glowing with a light green light, which flows slowly around the thick trunk.

In comparison, the tree nursery at the base of the giant tree is much smaller.

It was a tree house that looked like a rattan ball woven with huge vines, but it was only half of a tree house. The whole house was in the shape of an inverted bowl, with a diameter and height of about ten meters. It looked very unique.

Lingling, who had never seen such a scene, hadn't closed her little mouth since she saw the holy lake. She kept yelling "Ahhh", "Ohhh", and "Aoao" excitedly, clapping her hands and twisting her body, which made Blue repeatedly doubt whether she would fall off the branch.

Fortunately, throughout the entire inspection, thanks to Blue's all-round protection along the way, the excited Lingling never had the opportunity to come into close contact with the ground.

By noon, Lingling, who was tired of following Blue to see the scenery in the territory, was finally sent to the tree nursery after drinking a glass of milky fruit juice.

The baby's body and condition made Lingling a little sleepy. When Blue handed the baby to Irene's arms, she just let out a soft "ah" as a greeting, and then her little head began to doze off little by little.

Seeing this, Irene activated the wood magic element, picked her own vines and weaved them into a tree basket. She put some dry, soft leaves that smelled of sunshine at the bottom, gently placed Lingling in it, and rocked her gently to help her sleep better.

Lingling was so sleepy that she couldn't open her eyes. With such gentle treatment, she fell into a sweet dream in a second.

......

An hour later, Lingling, who had finally gotten enough sleep, opened her eyes refreshed.

"Ah~ (Uncle Bai)" The energetic Lingling greeted her Uncle Bai in her mind first.

"Hello, Lingling~" Seeing Lingling's healthy and energetic appearance, Bai Jiu responded to the little baby's greeting with satisfaction.

After receiving the response, Lingling gave Bai Jiu a sweet smile, then turned around to look for Grandpa Blue who had played with her the whole morning and the tree-man grandma who she saw before going to bed and was said to be called Irene.

The little head tilted this way and that, looking left and right, up and down, but he didn't see anyone except five saplings about one meter high standing next to him.

Lingling was puzzled and whispered, "Ah~? (Grandpa?)"

...no response.

"Ah?!" Lingling raised her voice, and this time she heard some movement.

Turning her head towards the direction of the sound, she saw that at some point, five saplings had gathered around her tree basket, and were excitedly shaking the branches with few leaves on them, making rustling sounds.

Looking at these five saplings, Lingling blinked her big eyes, feeling a little curious.

"Ah? Ahhh (Who are you? Lingling doesn't know you)." Lingling curiously stretched out her little hand to touch the leaves beside her.

Her tender little hands made the sapling tremble with excitement, and the other saplings also moved closer excitedly, and the few leaves they had were almost touching Lingling's face.

But Lingling said that she was not afraid. No matter how many leaves came, Lingling could touch them all. She touched this one and that one, giggling with joy.

Hearing the child's giggling, Irene and Blue knew she had woken up, so they hurried in from outside. They didn't expect to see Lingling being enthusiastically surrounded by saplings, hugged by them on both sides. They were amused for a moment.

Seeing them come in, Lingling's round eyes suddenly lit up, "Ahhh!"

She wanted to turn over and sit up happily in the tree basket, but the tree babies were too enthusiastic and pressed against her one by one. There was nothing Lingling could do but continue to touch them, but her big eyes were fixed on the two people who came in.

Seeing Irene and Blue approaching, the treeman babies reluctantly retreated a little.

Having regained her "freedom", Lingling kicked her little arms and legs, her whole body overflowing with satisfaction and joy, and she lazily stretched out her chubby little white hands to ask for a hug.

Seeing this, Irene quickly got ahead of Blue and picked up Lingling. After she was done, she smiled proudly at Blue.

Blue, who was a step slower... casually moved his crown, pretending to be generous and not competing with her for the child.

"Now that the little one is awake, let's go and perform the blessing ceremony first to prevent the soft little guy from getting sick."

"Wait a minute, I'll tell these little ones to stop them from causing trouble in the yard." Ailin carried Lingling to the other little ones and pointed at the lively and adorable little baby. "You guys stay in the yard and take root, absorb nutrients, grow taller quickly, and protect our new little sister. Do you understand? Don't make trouble. We'll be back soon."
