In the North Palace, near the Pinghong Hall, several escaped fugitives were hiding in a palace room. Huang Zhong was leading a squad of Imperial Guards to approach them.

Suddenly, a hidden arrow shot out from inside the palace, aimed directly at Huang Zhong, who was at the head. Huang Zhong's eyes narrowed, and he dodged to the side. Then, he quickly took the large bow from his back, drew the bow, and nocked an arrow.

The bowstring twanged, and the arrow whistled out, shooting into the house along the trail left by the hidden arrow. A scream immediately came from inside the house.

Seeing Huang Zhong's sharp archery skills, the Imperial Guards soldiers present couldn't help but turn to look at him in surprise, their eyes filled with admiration.

Gongsun Zan was in charge of clearing out the middle and upper-ranking officers in the Yueqi Camp who had been bribed by Wang Fu and his men.

If these people are not quickly eliminated, and they manage to escape, the damage they will cause to the surrounding areas will be unimaginable.

"Huh? Aren't those the Imperial Guards? What are they doing here?"

Seeing the Imperial Guards rushing towards them, the gatekeepers of the Yueqi Camp couldn't help but whisper among themselves, somewhat unsure of what was going on.

Upon seeing this, the officer immediately rolled to the side to avoid it. As soon as he got up, he felt a pain in his throat, and then a spurt of blood gushed from his neck.

All of this happened so fast and so suddenly that the soldiers of the Yueqi Camp around them were stunned and at a loss for what to do when they saw the officer lying on the ground and Gongsun Zan with a fierce look on his horse.

Upon seeing this, Gongsun Zan immediately raised the imperial edict, his gaze turning icy as he looked at the crowd, and shouted sternly:

"His Majesty's edict is here. Why don't you receive it?"

"We are acting under imperial decree!!"

Upon seeing the gleaming imperial edict in Gongsun Zan's hand, all the soldiers immediately knelt down. Although their officers had been won over and bribed by Wang Fu and others, these ordinary soldiers were not. The majesty of the Han emperor still filled them with awe.

Then Gongsun Zan unfolded the imperial edict and read it aloud:

"There is now a faction of eunuchs who are wielding power and manipulating the government. I deeply resent them. I hereby decree that all soldiers of the Great Han shall obey my orders and eliminate the eunuchs and their cronies. Anyone who resists or disobeys shall be killed without mercy!"

After the announcement was read, Gongsun Zan immediately led his Imperial Guards cavalry to charge towards the central command tent inside the Yueqi Camp, with the soldiers following closely behind.

Upon hearing of the emperor's decree, the soldiers of the Yueqi Battalion also took up their weapons and followed behind Gongsun Zan and his men.

After all, the soldiers of the Han Dynasty were still loyal to the Han Dynasty, and they should obey the imperial edict issued by the emperor.

Furthermore, those officers who had sided with the eunuchs had a history of withholding military pay and engaging in unethical behavior, which the soldiers had long since come to their wits' end.

Chaos erupted within the Yueqi camp, with soldiers everywhere shouting slogans like "By order of the Emperor, eliminate the eunuchs and their cronies!" and knocking down the officers who were committing crimes.

"Take them away and hand them over to His Majesty for judgment!"

Gongsun Zan then led his men to escort these people to the palace, leaving behind nearly a hundred Imperial Guards to begin reorganizing and investigating the Yueqi Camp.

Meanwhile, Gongsun Du and Ma Teng successfully took over the archery and cavalry battalions and drove the eunuch faction towards the Luoyang Imperial Palace.

As for the other two battalions, they had already been secretly handed over to Liu Hong after Dou Wu left Chang Le Palace, so no disturbance occurred.

At this point, the Imperial Guards, the Tiger Guards, and the five battalions of the Northern Army were basically under Liu Hong's control.
