Chapter 575 The Power of Ghosts and Gods

"Lu Bu...?"

"Is he the Lü Bu who built a Jingguan (a mound of corpses) for our three thousand warriors...?"

Upon seeing the golden-armored knight in front of them, the Jie people on the other side couldn't help but change their expressions, their eyes filled with fear and awe as they looked at Lu Bu.

Although they couldn't understand what Lü Bu was shouting, they could still recognize the name Lü Bu.

These Jie people marched eastward, enduring numerous hardships and ambushes, but they always managed to escape unscathed.

Because their brave soldiers had defeated the Roman army, broken through the Kushan army's blockade, and breached the Parthian army's defenses, they considered their warriors invincible.

But shortly after they entered the grasslands, their three thousand brave soldiers were slaughtered by a man named Lü Bu, and their heads were piled up into a huge tomb.

Such enormous losses and such a ferocious enemy shattered their understanding.

Therefore, among the Jie people today, the name Lü Bu is like the Grim Reaper, inspiring fear in all who hear it.

Lu Bu, standing at the front of the battle line, looked at the ugly Jie people in the distance with disdain in his eyes.

Lu Bu gripped his halberd with his right hand, resting it diagonally on his shoulder, while his left hand tightened the reins. He lightly tapped his horse's belly with his legs and slowly rode towards the Jie people not far away.

Wang Chen and the Xiongnu soldiers behind him also looked excited, their eyes gleaming as they watched Lü Bu walk forward alone.

Upon reaching the front lines of the two armies, Lü Bu raised his halberd, its tip pointing directly at the Jie soldiers in front of him, and then shouted sternly in the Xiongnu language:

"I am Lü Bu, the Wolf Cavalry General of the Han Dynasty. You cowards, do you dare to fight me to the death?"

Lu Bu's shout was like thunder, and the Jie people at the front of the group felt a sharp pain in their eardrums, their eyes filled with fear as they looked at Lu Bu.

"High Priest, what is he saying...?"

A Jie soldier leaned close to the old priest and asked in a low voice.

"He wants to duel with the warriors of our tribe!"

The old priest frowned slightly, his gaze towards Lü Bu filled with apprehension.

"duel.....?"

Upon hearing this, the surrounding Jie soldiers trembled inwardly, and a hint of hesitation appeared on their faces. Many of them couldn't help but take a step back.

Seeing this, the old priest immediately turned around and shouted, "Warriors, you must show your indomitable courage in the face of the enemy. Only by bravely facing the enemy and defeating him can you receive God's protection..."

"The priest is right, God will not bless cowards!"

"We need to be brave!?"

The old priest's words of encouragement greatly dispelled the fear in the hearts of the Jie people, and a hint of determination to live in the face of death appeared in their eyes.

A burly man wielding a spiked club rode up from behind and respectfully addressed the old priest:

"Priest, I, Shi Xian, request permission to fight!"

"Good!! Shi Xian truly deserves to be our tribe's number one warrior. We must kill him in one fell swoop in this battle and avenge our three thousand warriors!"

The old priest looked at Shi Xian, who was the first to volunteer for battle, his eyes filled with admiration and expectation.

Shi Xian nodded heavily: "Please rest assured, High Priest, I will definitely bring back Lü Bu's head and offer it as a gift to God!"

"Go, child, God will bless you!!"

As he spoke, the old priest clasped his hands together and made a blessing gesture toward Shi Xian.

"Thank you for your blessing, High Priest!!"

Upon seeing this, Shi Xian couldn't help but feel excited. He then turned to look at Lü Bu, spurred his warhorse out of the army formation, and charged straight towards Lü Bu.

"Lu Bu, you butcher, come and face your death!"

"What is this guy yelling about??"

Seeing the Jie people charging towards him, brandishing their spiked clubs and shouting, Lü Bu frowned and then slammed his legs against his horse's flanks.

The horse, in pain, pawed the ground with all four hooves, carrying Lü Bu like an arrow shot from a bow, galloping towards Shi Xian.

Soon, the two rushed towards each other.

"You scoundrel, prepare to die!!"

As Lu Bu charged forward, he roared and swung his halberd with all his might. The long blade of the halberd, accompanied by a series of whistling sounds, swept towards Shi Xian's neck, leaving half a shadow behind.

As Shi Xian rushed forward, he heard a deafening roar and his heart trembled. Before he could even raise his weapon to fight, he felt a pain in his throat and a spurt of blood gushed out. He remained in his charging posture and passed by Lü Bu. He ran a short distance before falling off his horse.

"General's divine might!"

Seeing that Lu Bu had killed the enemy warrior in one round, Wang Chen and the others shouted excitedly.

"General's divine might!!"

The Xiongnu soldiers couldn't help but raise their weapons and shout in unison.

On the other hand, the Jie soldiers on the opposite side stood there dumbfounded, their faces pale. None of them expected that their tribe's number one warrior would die so easily when facing Lü Bu, without even being able to fight back.

Lu Bu's terrifying power once again shattered the Jie people's understanding of what was truly terrifying.

"Hmph, how boring!!"

Turning his head to glance at the corpse lying on the ground, Lü Bu couldn't help but snort coldly.

Lu Bu spurred his horse forward and roared in the Xiongnu language, "This time, you are allowed to send five men at a time!"

Seeing Lü Bu's disdainful look, the old priest at the front of the group stared at Lü Bu with wide eyes, trembling all over, whether from anger or fear, it was hard to tell.

"If we don't kill this man, we will all die today!!"

The old priest looked at Lü Bu with a sinister gaze, then pointed out the five strongest soldiers.

The five Jie soldiers were clearly experienced in combat, and they charged towards Lü Bu in a semi-circle.
