Chapter 829 Subjugation of the Barbarians

March 11th.

At this time, the barbarian soldiers led by Qin Lin had been stationed here for five days.

In the past few days, those barbarian soldiers have looted everything edible within a radius of a hundred miles, leaving nothing to eat.

Inside the barbarian soldiers' tent, Qin Lin, Sun Sheng, and the leaders of various tribes gathered together.

Everyone looked pale, thin, and weak, clearly suffering from extreme hunger.

One of the leaders said, "Your Majesty, more than a hundred of our warriors have fainted from hunger today. If this continues, we will starve to death sooner or later!"

Another person said, "Your Majesty, let's just fight the Han army to the death! It's better to die in battle than to starve to death!"

"Yes, let's fight them!!"

The other leaders inside the tent couldn't help but shout as well.

Looking at his men, Qin Lin sighed inwardly.

He had been holding back the crowd and hadn't dared to attack the Han army because he was worried about his son's life.

These people are so hungry they're almost losing their minds. If they don't get an explanation soon, they might perish themselves.

Thinking of this, Qin Lin disregarded his son's safety and stood up, glancing at everyone.

"Since everyone agrees, let's attack the city tomorrow. Tell the warriors that after the city falls, the army can roam freely for three days!"

"yes!!"

The barbarian leaders, their eyes gleaming with greed, responded loudly, though their voices sounded so weak.

I was so hungry...

Qin Lin looked at Sun Sheng beside him and said in a deep voice, "King Yue, how about your troops lead the vanguard when we attack the city tomorrow?"

Sun Sheng was slightly taken aback and instinctively wanted to refuse, but when he met Qin Lin's cold gaze, he could only nod.

Afterwards, Qin Lin and his men began to discuss the siege of the city the next day.

While they were discussing, Dalan, who was on duty outside the tent, found an excuse to leave and went to find Dong Zhuo.

"General Dong, I just heard that they will be attacking the city tomorrow, and that Sun Sheng will be leading the vanguard!"

Dalan also told Dong Zhuo everything he had heard.

Dong Zhuo couldn't help but sneer: "Heh~, why didn't you attack the city earlier? Now you're so hungry you can barely walk, and you want to attack? Has your king lost his mind?"

Upon hearing this, Dalan and the others did not respond. After all, Qin Lin was their former master, and while Dong Zhuo could insult him, they could not.

Seeing this, Dong Zhuo stopped pressing the matter and asked, "By the way, how many brothers have you contacted?"

Dalan replied, "We already have more than five thousand men. The brothers who are now responsible for patrolling and guarding the camp are all our men. We can take action at any time!"

Dong Zhuo nodded: "Good, go and tell the brothers that after we've eaten and drunk our fill tonight, we'll arrest Qin Lin and all the tribal leaders and hand them over to the Han army tomorrow, so that you and your clansmen can find a way to survive!"

"yes!"

Dalan nodded heavily, and then began to make contacts in all directions.

As night fell, Dalan and his men led five thousand barbarian soldiers out of the camp in batches.

Lu Bu also sent people to deliver food to them halfway.

After they had eaten and drunk their fill, Dalan led them back to the barbarian camp and then dispersed outside the tents of Qin Lin and the various tribal leaders.

At the third quarter of the hour of Chou (1-3 AM), just as everyone was asleep, Dong Zhuo, along with Dalan, Shanpao, and others, arrived outside Qin Lin's tent.

Hearing the snoring coming from inside the tent, Dong Zhuo smirked and then looked at Dalan: "Make your move!"

"yes!"

Dalan accepted the order and immediately ordered his men to light the torches.

With a horn sounding, Dong Zhuo, accompanied by Dalan Dongren, rushed into the tent.

Hearing the commotion, Qin Lin had just opened his eyes and hadn't even had time to get up when he saw a gleaming long knife held against his neck.

"Hmph, tie him up!"

Dong Zhuo snorted coldly and then ordered his men to tie up Qin Lin and gag him.

"How about that? Didn't expect that, did you?"

Seeing Qin Lin struggling, Dong Zhuo walked forward with a smug look on his face.

"Waaaaah!"

With his mouth gagged, Qin Lin stared at Dong Zhuo with bloodshot eyes. If it weren't for the barbarian soldiers holding him down, he probably would have jumped up and pounced on him.

Dong Zhuo chuckled and shook his head: "Tsk tsk~, are you not convinced? Want to have a match with me?"

Qin Lin nodded, his eyes fixed on Dong Zhuo.

Dong Zhuo laughed and said, "Then you should save your breath. Now that you are a prisoner, I have no interest in dueling with you!"

Qin Lin's expression changed. He hadn't expected Dong Zhuo to be so cowardly, not even giving him a chance to duel.

Just then, several barbarian soldiers entered the tent one after another and bowed to Dong Zhuo.

"General Dong, the operation is going smoothly. The leaders of all the units are now under our control!"

Upon hearing this, Qin Lin's expression changed, and he looked at Dalan and the barbarian soldiers with eyes that seemed to spit fire.

He never imagined that Dong Zhuo, without him even realizing it, had managed to win over his personal guards and so many of his men.

If I had known it would turn out like this, I would have just sent that fat guy back home...

Dong Zhuo, observing Qin Lin's constantly changing expression, then said in a deep voice, "King Qin Lin, do you know why your warriors are willing to follow a prisoner like me?"

Qin Lin looked at Dong Zhuo without speaking, his eyes filled with a hint of doubt.

"Because I have the support of the Great Han behind me. The Great Han can ensure that they have enough to eat and can live a good life."
