Emperor Ling of Han was the last powerful emperor of the Han Dynasty, a figure who could have altered the course of history, yet he became the root cause of the empire's collapse.
Fate ha...
I've made up my mind.
Yuan Shu looked at a sailor and ordered, "A'da, take twenty brothers and those three hundred Japanese soldiers and go around to the back of the village. After the battle at the village entrance, then charge into the village!"
"Yes, young master!"
Ah Da nodded, and then led his men around to the back of the village.
"Ji Ling, take the rest of your brothers and come with me!"
As he spoke, Yuan Shu led Ji Ling and the others straight toward the village. When the villagers saw a group of strangers with weapons approaching, they began to shout loudly. Soon, more than a hundred able-bodied men came out with their weapons and gathered at the village entrance.
A leading villager looked at Yuan Shu and his group and shouted loudly.
Yuan Shu frowned and looked at the guide beside him: "What is he saying?"
"Young master, he said they are the men of Chief Liu Misheng and hope we can retreat!"
"Heh~, what is Liu Misheng?"
Yuan Shu sneered, then said, "Tell them to hand over all the women, grain, and valuables in the village, or we'll have to rob them ourselves!"
The guide nodded, and then loudly translated Yuan Shu's words to the other party.
Upon hearing this, the Japanese standing at the village entrance couldn't help but show anger on their faces, but they didn't dare to make any move. The person opposite them was tall and strong, wielding a sharp long sword, and was definitely not someone they could defeat.
Seeing that the Japanese did not respond for a long time, Yuan Shu revealed a cruel smile, and then slowly drew the long sword from his waist.
"Brothers, follow me and kill them!!"
Yuan Shu roared and charged towards the group of short men.
"kill!!"
Ji Ling followed closely behind with the wandering knights and sailors.
Upon seeing this, some of the Japanese at the village entrance mustered their courage and chose to fight, while others retreated in fear.
Soon, Yuan Shu rushed forward, head down, and with a mighty swing of his long sword, slashed at the neck of a Japanese man. Blood gushed out, and the Japanese man fell straight down.
"Oh dear!"
At the same time, another Japanese man wielding a wooden stick let out a strange cry and struck Yuan Shu's knee.
Upon seeing this, Yuan Shu immediately dodged, and with lightning speed, thrust his long sword into the Japanese man's mouth, the blade emerging from the back of his head.
"Hmph~, serves you right for barking so wildly!"
With a cold snort, Yuan Shu withdrew his long sword and continued to charge forward.
Yuan Shu's martial arts skills might not have been renowned during the Han Dynasty, but among these Japanese, he was undoubtedly a peerless master.
With each swing of his long sword, blood was drawn; he truly lived up to his reputation of killing one person with every step.
Soon, five Japanese soldiers died under Yuan Shu's sword.
On the other side, Ji Ling and his wandering sailors were also engaged in a bloody massacre. Most of these men were strong men who had followed Ji Ling to the grasslands to capture slaves.
Even the Xianbei people couldn't defeat them, let alone these poorly armed Japanese.
The long period of drifting at sea made these people restless and irritable, and these Japanese people became the targets of their venting.
The battle lasted only a few breaths before sixty or seventy Japanese soldiers fell to the ground, while Yuan Shu and his men were unharmed. It was a one-sided massacre.
The remaining fifty-odd Japanese soldiers were terrified and turned to run away.
As soon as the Japanese soldiers reached the village, they saw A-Da leading twenty sailors and three hundred Japanese soldiers rushing towards them from behind the village.
Upon seeing this, the Japanese turned pale and, after uttering a series of incoherent shouts, threw down their weapons and knelt down.
"Young master, what should we do with these people?"
Looking at the Japanese villagers kneeling on the ground, Ji Ling couldn't help but ask.
Yuan Shu narrowed his eyes and said coldly, "These people are overestimating themselves and dare to resist. Leave no one alive!"
"Yes, young master!"
Ji Ling responded loudly and immediately led the wandering knights and sailors forward.
In a short while, the remaining dozens of Japanese were slaughtered.
The Japanese soldiers following behind A'da looked at Yuan Shu with fear and awe.
Feeling the gazes of the Japanese soldiers, Yuan Shu smiled slightly, then looked at the guide beside him.
"Tell them that this village is their reward!"
"Yes, young master!"
The guide then translated Yuan Shu's words to the Japanese soldiers.
"Awoo~, Awoo~!"
Upon hearing this, the Japanese soldiers immediately let out excited shouts and scattered, rushing towards the houses in the village.
In an instant, cries and wails echoed throughout the village.
When these Japanese soldiers saw that the lives of the village's elderly, children, and women were in their hands, their deep-seated evil nature was completely unleashed.
Even though these villagers were their neighbors and relatives, they showed no sympathy or pity whatsoever.
The elderly and children were killed by them, and the women who were left behind were tortured to the point of wishing they were dead.
"Young master, I never imagined that these Japanese would be so cruel to their own kind!"
Seeing the atrocities committed by the Japanese soldiers, Ji Ling couldn't help but frown.
Yuan Shu sneered: "When a group of weak people who have long been at the bottom of society gain power, their deep-seated ambitions and bestial nature will naturally be revealed, and they will try every means to demonstrate their power."
