After being tempered by the black rain, Gu Mingyue's physical fitness improved significantly. In the pitch-black neighborhood, only a few lights were on.

Her eyes were like those of an owl at night; they couldn't see many vibrant colors in the darkness, but they could clearly make out the outlines and movements of various creatures outside.

By this time, the black rain had long since stopped, and the areas without shelter from buildings had become the domain of monsters.

The unassuming ornamental trees have now grown to twice their usual size, with sturdier trunks and leaves that subtly exhibit a plastic-like texture.

The insects chirped loudly, sounding like an engine, and climbed onto the trees and vegetation. The mutated trees could even withstand their climbing and biting.

Ordinary flowers, grasses and trees are devoured by them; in less than half a minute, all the leaves are eaten away, and then the trunks are hollowed out.

The food chain of nature still exists, and the loud chirping of insects attracts many mutated birds to compete for the food.

A lavish feast unfolds everywhere in the dead of night.

Humans, who once considered themselves at the top of the food chain, are now being attacked by various mutated beasts and monsters.

Since the advent of wisdom, humankind no longer fears the unpredictable changes in temperature, nor the lack of medical care for illnesses.

As a result, the tail that maintained balance degenerated, the sharp teeth became flat and square, the nails were trimmed clean, the muscles became decorative pieces, and the eyes not only could not adapt to the dark, but also became nearsighted due to the influence of technology.

"Aaaaaah! What's biting me? Oh my god, it's a huge rat!"

Someone had just escaped from the monster's jaws inside the building when an unknown creature bit his exposed ankle. When he crouched down to pull it off, he discovered it was a rat the size of a cat.

Before he could utter the next sentence, a group of rats began gnawing at him from the soles of his feet down to his skull, leaving only a skeleton as he fell heavily to the ground.

The people behind screamed and retreated back into the building, but forgot to close the door, so they were sent into the mouths of the rats along with the humanoid monster behind them.

Not long after Gu Mingyue came out of the apartment building, she encountered the humanoid monster. Since using her mental domain would waste energy, she let her other pets kill the monster at will.

She also picked up the meteorite sword and began to fight the humanoid monster with her enhanced body.

If you can cut off the neck, cut off the neck; if you can't cut off the neck, cut off the claws.

Xinghe stood behind her, constantly changing positions to unleash spatial blades as she moved.

The two worked together and quickly killed dozens more humanoid monsters at the early stage of level one.

Many people escaped death because of their rampage against the monsters.

"Thank you for saving me." A person who was about to be attacked by the humanoid monster found that the monster in front of him suddenly collapsed, revealing the face of an extremely beautiful woman behind it. He quickly thanked them.

Gu Mingyue glanced at him, saw that he was a stranger who had no grudge against her, and didn't say anything. She wasn't a murderous maniac, so she waved her hand and told him to leave quickly so as not to delay her from continuing to mine crystal cores.

Just then, a commotion broke out in the distance.

The rats in the sewers squeaked, some with yellow pustules on their bodies. When they saw so many people and small animals with Gu Mingyue, they immediately swarmed over.

So much meat!

The rats were so numerous that they covered the path between the two buildings.

This scene made Gu Mingyue's scalp tingle, and she quickly called Xinghe and the little pets to return the way they came.

They then discovered that the door to Unit 4 had been locked from the inside.

When she ran to other apartment buildings, she found that the doors inside were also locked, including several people she had saved who had just thanked her.

They could have waited until Gu Mingyue and the others entered the building before closing the door, but they heard the screams of those who were slower to run and were killed by rats.

They were immediately terrified, fearing that a rat might crawl in, so they immediately closed the unit door as soon as they entered.

Ignoring the cries for help outside and disregarding the people who had saved them before.

Those two were so capable; they could have escaped alive even without hiding inside. They all thought this to cover up their selfish actions.

Seeing this scene, Gu Mingyue once again lamented the cold indifference of humanity in the face of danger and gently shook her head.

Although she could smash the first-floor window and let the rats in, she could devour these heartless people along with other innocent ones.

But she didn't do that. Instead, she had Xinghe take out a few pieces of rotten meat that she had previously bought for free from her spatial storage and throw them far away. Unfortunately, a few pieces landed on the windows of those apartment buildings.

The rats smelled the rotten meat and immediately stopped eating.

We could have left after eating the meat on those windows.

But the people inside, upon seeing the enormous rat head, uttered sounds of dissatisfaction.

"Those two are so mean! They actually threw meat onto our first-floor window. What if a rat gets in?"

"Yeah, it's such good meat, it's such a waste to just throw it away! Why don't they keep killing those rats? The outside is overrun with rats, how are we going to go out and find supplies tomorrow!"

A mouse, which was eating meat, twitched its ears, stopped eating, and looked into the window.

"Shh, don't talk. I have a feeling that the rat saw us."

"Impossible, are their hearing that good? Our neighborhood has pretty good soundproofing."

Just then, the rat suddenly started squeaking behind it, and immediately a large group of rats pounced on the window.

Clap clap clap!

Whoosh!

The windowpane is broken.

"Ahhh, a mouse has come in!"

Panic screams erupted from the crowd as they rushed upstairs, only to encounter the humanoid monster that had just burst out of the door.
