Most of the hospital windows were broken, perhaps smashed by patients trying to escape on the day the monsters appeared.

Gu Mingyue brushed the yellow sand off her body and looked into the building through the thick helmet glass.

The outpatient building is connected to other buildings, forming a square shape.

In the center of the courtyard, there is a patch of green that stands out starkly against the backdrop of endless yellow sand.

The entrance to the hospital center was blocked by several wrecked cars, and that patch of green was glimpsed through the gaps between them.

Gu Mingyue asked Xinghe to put the car away, and she slowly walked over to examine the wrecked cars.

Seeing Xinghe put the car into his spatial storage, he pulled him along to walk towards the outermost outpatient building.

As soon as the two pushed open the door of the outpatient building, a monster with a lower lip that drooped down to its navel rushed out. Its exposed mouth was filled with several rings of sharp teeth.

Upon seeing two extra pieces of food offered to its mouth at the doorway, the monster's eyes gleamed with greed, and a two-meter-long tongue suddenly shot out from its wide-open mouth.

It looks like it wants to roll them into its mouth and swallow them into its equally sagging stomach.

Before Gu Mingyue could make a move, Xinghe drew the meteorite knife from his waist and slashed at the slippery black tongue.

He cut off the tongue, flipped the blade, and thrust it into the charging monster's mouth, then flicked it upwards, striking the crystal core in the monster's brain.

Xinghe caught the crystal nucleus that was thrown into the air.

The whole process was swift and efficient, and not a single drop of the monster's pus got on the platinum uniform.

Then he took out water from his space, washed the crystal core clean, and handed it to Gu Mingyue, who was standing behind him.

This was a level two monster crystal core. Gu Mingyue couldn't absorb it, so she threw it into the wolf's mouth to let it absorb and level up.

This scene was witnessed by Zheng Yu and his group, who were chasing the monster down from the second floor.

"Who let you in? Why are you so handsy?"
