"No, sir, we have no other requests. It's just that Feng Tao and I have a research project that is based on tanks."

Researcher Tian really didn't want to give up; they had already made some progress.

The leader from Beijing smiled gently, "It's alright, our base is also in the military region, you can continue your research after you get there."

Feng Tao was a little embarrassed. "Sir, I've only been here for half a month. I haven't been involved in the supercomputer project much. Maybe I shouldn't go. I'm afraid I won't be able to help much."

The leader from Beijing smiled and looked at the three men, "Do any of you three have any other questions?"

The three quickly shook their heads. "No, we just have some documents to take with us."

The departure of these individuals left the veteran researchers at the base feeling uneasy. After all, they were promising talents, and once they left, they might not be able to return unless there was a special transfer order from above.

Researcher Tian and Researcher Hou's mentor pulled them aside and gave them a stern warning: "Don't cause trouble over there." This was mainly directed at Researcher Tian.

The old professor looked at Lin Chuchu; he had watched her grow up little by little.

"Comrade Lin, if you encounter any problems there, talk to them. They are quite reliable. If anyone bullies you, call me. I don't have that much power, but the section chief and the leaders will definitely not let you be bullied."

Lin Chuchu nodded, feeling a surge of emotion.

"Teacher, thank you so much. Thank you for always helping me and standing by my side when I encountered difficulties. Thank you so much."

When several people leave at once, a send-off is definitely in order. A group of people see them off, telling them to do a good job and not to bring shame to their base.

Researcher Tian hugged his mentor's arm and cried loudly, saying he couldn't bear to part with his mentor.

His master kicked him hard in the butt.

"Don't be reluctant to part with me! I'd love to get rid of you, you troublemaker. When you get there, you'd better listen to Xiao Hou. You can use your brain for scientific research, leave everything else to Xiao Hou."

These two are natural enemies; now Researcher Hou has to manage both Researcher Tian and Feng Tao.

It is a long and arduous task, and there is no chance to refuse yet.

Researcher Tian cried with snot and tears streaming down his face, and then clung to Researcher Hou, refusing to let go.

Researcher Hou's face stiffened, and he subconsciously shuddered, his whole body covered in goosebumps.

"Let go of me, you're disgusting."

The playful banter between the two dispelled the sorrow of parting; the future remained uncertain.

The group traveled with the military vehicle. Lin Chuchu didn't understand why they would choose to squeeze into the cramped military vehicle instead of taking the train.

Fortunately, the military vehicle had been modified and was not so bumpy, otherwise the passengers would have fallen apart.

After three days of travel, Lin Chuchu finally understood why they were in a military vehicle: they needed to transport other people.

The group consisted entirely of young people, with the oldest being a forty-year-old man, which demonstrates just how much importance China places on supercomputer research.

The army provided protection along the way, and all vehicles encountered on the road were given a wide detour, for fear of hitting people they shouldn't have.

As the car gradually entered familiar territory, Lin Chuchu knew in her heart that even though she lived very close to home, she might not be able to go home even once a year.

Feng Tao, who was standing next to him, was a little nervous, and his legs were shaking involuntarily.

"Comrade Lin, what do you think this base will be like? Will it have everything?"

Lin Chuchu shook her head. "I don't know, but I think it will definitely be stricter than our previous base."

"You can't be so outgoing there; the capital is different from other places."

Feng Tao quickly nodded, "I know, Comrade Lin, don't worry, I will definitely not cause you any trouble."

The car traveled further and further out of the city's suburbs until it entered the military region. After several checks, it finally entered the innermost part of the military region.

None of them looked around. The guards around them were left on the perimeter. Those guards would have to go through an audit before it could be decided whether they would continue to serve as guards.

Lin Chuchu and the others were led to a row of houses. "The women's dormitories are on the left, and the men's dormitories are on the right."

"The rooms with names written on them are already occupied; you can choose any of the other rooms."

"It will be lunchtime in an hour. Someone will take you to the canteen. Everyone must wear military uniform. Someone will bring it over in a little while."

"Go to the auditorium this afternoon to attend the welcoming ceremony."

Most people who come here are alone; there are very few couples.

These houses are all single-story, facing south, and each has a small courtyard. There are many more houses like this.

Lin Chuchu randomly chose a place. The courtyard was not big, and there was a pile of firewood in the corner of the house, so she could obviously start a fire herself.

The room is a one-bedroom, one-living room, one-bathroom apartment. The bathroom has a flush toilet, and the kitchen has pots, pans, and utensils.

There is a desk in the living room, which can be used for daily work and study.
