In her previous life, Lin Chuchu was framed by her aunt and uncle, lost her job, and spent her entire life working as their family's servant.
However, her father was a martyr, and her mot...
Lin Chuchu stayed at home for three days before returning to work at the base.
As soon as I entered the office, I greeted familiar faces with a smile.
Upon arriving at his office, Academician Li was engrossed in writing something.
"Teacher, I'm back."
Teacher Li looked up and smiled, "You're back? Mission accomplished?"
Lin Chuchu nodded. "Yes, it's finished."
Lin Chuchu placed the food she brought on the teacher's desk. "Teacher, these are pastries made by my grandma. They have very little sugar. Please try them."
Academician Li put down his pen, took out a piece of pastry, and took a bite.
It tastes really good, very delicious, and not greasy at all.
Seeing Lin Chuchu sitting in his seat, he said, "There are some more documents. Take a look at them first. There's a research project document in there. Familiarize yourself with it first, and I'll send it to a research group for you this afternoon."
Lin Chuchu was naturally very happy to finally be able to join the research group.
"Okay, teacher, I understand."
The information concerns research on translators for supercomputers. The research has been ongoing for quite some time, but there hasn't been much progress, and it has even stagnated somewhat.
Lin Chuchu hesitated for a moment, "Teacher, I don't know how to program, would that be a bit inappropriate?"
Academician Li shook his head. “What’s inappropriate about it? There are teachers there. You can learn from them. You have a good memory, so you might be able to get the hang of it quickly.”
Lin Chuchu felt something was off. Others had been researching for years or even decades, and she could learn it in just a few days?
Since the teacher thinks she's capable, she can't let the teacher down.
After spending the morning reviewing all the data, Academician Li led his team directly to an office in the afternoon.
The two bigwigs were talking, and Lin Chuchu listened obediently from the side.
After Academician Li left, Researcher Ma pointed to the pile of garbled data on the computer screen and asked in a gentle tone.
"Can you understand it?"
Lin Chuchu had a feeling that a storm was brewing.
"I don't understand..."
Upon hearing this, Researcher Ma choked on his words and almost couldn't breathe.
I thought a genius was coming, but who would have thought it would be a complete novice?
Academician Li isn't joking, is he?
Seeing the other person's hope turn to disappointment, Lin Chuchu quickly added a comment to make amends.
"Teacher, I have a good memory and can remember things after just one reading. Could you explain it to me?"
Researcher Ma scoffed at Lin Chuchu, "How good can your memory be? Can you remember everything you see?"
He can accept someone who knows nothing but can settle down and study, but he hates people who talk big the most.
He casually handed a book from the table to Lin Chuchu, saying, "Memorize this book word for word. If you can memorize it before you leave work, I'll teach you."
After finishing his speech, Researcher Ma immediately sat back down and ignored Lin Chuchu.
Now, Lin Chuchu's impression on him is completely negative; she might be a relative of some leader above, sent over to gain prestige.
There were a few other people in the office, but no one spoke, because Researcher Ma was a very strict person.
Lin Chuchu's heart skipped a beat. She felt like she had done something wrong. She was telling the truth, but it was a truth that was hard to believe.
Lin Chuchu randomly found a seat and sat down. She didn't know where she got the book from, and there was no pattern to it. Although it was in English letters, the words she could put together were not words she recognized.
Although she couldn't understand it, she could use the space to take pictures. She could just take a picture of what each piece of code meant and then use it directly later.
Unfortunately, there was no computer in front of her, otherwise she really wanted to try it.
Lin Chuchu looked at the photos twice to make sure that each one was clearly photographed. There was still some time left, so Lin Chuchu couldn't help but move closer to Researcher Ma.
With the help of the photos in the space, the meaning of those codes that were originally like gibberish became clear.
Lin Chuchu was engrossed in reading when she suddenly heard Researcher Ma's angry voice.
"Comrade Lin, have you memorized all the books I gave you?"
Seeing how attentively she was watching, I felt a little more satisfied.
Unexpectedly, when he turned around, he saw Lin Chuchu standing next to him, staring blankly at his computer.
What's the point of sending someone who lacks ability, is unwilling to learn, and can't even concentrate?
Lin Chuchu snapped out of her daze, "Yes, teacher, I've already memorized it."
Upon hearing this, everyone except Researcher Ma stared at Lin Chuchu in shock, not believing that what she said was true.
They all exchanged glances, thinking Lin Chuchu was just boasting, and realized the teacher was about to start scolding them.
Researcher Ma's face turned pale and then red. He had originally wanted to give Academician Li some face, but now all his patience had vanished.
He pointed at the room door and roared, "Get out of here! I can't take on a researcher like you!"
This was the first time Lin Chuchu had met a researcher with such a bad temper, and he had absolutely no patience for her.
But Lin Chuchu knew that he had misunderstood her, so she began to explain, "Teacher Ma, I didn't lie. You can test me now."
Seeing that the other person's anger was growing, Lin Chuchu quickly started reciting her lessons.
She couldn't let things continue like this; if things escalated, she really wouldn't be able to stay.
She chose a page without a number and memorized it word by word.
By the time Lin Chuchu had memorized the entire page, her palms were sweating.
The students nearby had already picked up their books and started reading. They only gasped in surprise when they heard Lin Chuchu finish reciting.
