Reborn in the 70s as an Educated Youth

In her previous life, Lin Chuchu was framed by her aunt and uncle, lost her job, and spent her entire life working as their family's servant.

However, her father was a martyr, and her mot...

Chapter 215 The Popular New Skirt

When the three arrived at the garment factory, the factory manager had not yet returned.

Lin Chuchu hadn't been here for so long that the gatekeepers had changed and didn't recognize her anymore.

However, he knew Mother Mu, who was a major customer of the clothing factory, and he couldn't afford to offend her.

After taking notes, the three were allowed into the factory. The people at the garment factory knew that Mother Mu had come and thought something had happened, so they quickly came over.

"Manager Li, what's going on here...?"

The deputy factory director looked at the three of them with suspicion.

Mother Mu waved her hand, "It's nothing. My daughter-in-law wants to modify her cheongsam and is looking for some fabric here."

The deputy factory manager breathed a sigh of relief and nodded. Boss Zhao came over by himself and asked him to take the three people to the warehouse.

Lin Chuchu remained silent throughout the entire process. Only after the group went to the warehouse did Lin Chuchu begin to look around.

The warehouse was very dry, and even so, all the fabrics were packed in transparent bags and placed on the shelves, where they were well preserved.

The deputy factory manager told people to wait for the factory manager to return and to make sure to call the factory manager over. He soon arrived at the warehouse as well.

He and the administrator followed behind the three and realized that Lin Chuchu was the one in charge. Lin Chuchu was not looking at the brightly colored fabrics, but at the white fabrics.

Lin Chuchu opened the transparent bag and touched the fabric. Too thick wouldn't do, too light or too transparent wouldn't do either. She touched more than a dozen fabrics before finally choosing a suitable one.

"Mom, I want to use this one."

Mother Mu nodded and was about to turn around to find the deputy factory director when she saw the deputy factory director following behind several people.

The deputy factory manager immediately ordered the warehouse keeper to bring down the fabric. "Is one batch enough? Should we check the others?"

After speaking, the deputy factory director looked at Lin Chuchu, and everyone else looked over as well.

Lin Chuchu nodded, "I also want a shawl, in a plain color, with some patterns on it."

"However, I'd like a lighter and longer piece of fabric."

The deputy factory manager wasn't very familiar with the distribution of the fabric, so he looked at the warehouse manager.

The warehouse manager thought for a moment before walking up to a shelf and asking, "How about this one?"

The fabric he found was a translucent light purple, a very pale color.

Lin Chuchu touched it and nodded, "Okay, I'll take this one."

The group took down the two types of fabric, and the deputy factory manager said enthusiastically, "Let's go to the workshop; there are sewing machines there."

Lin Chuchu nodded, but when she saw that the other party was about to carry all the fabric over, she quickly stopped them.

"I don't need that much... Mom, I want to make ten white tutu skirts, the kind that can twirl around. How much fabric do I need?"

"The other one only needs to be rectangular, and when you spread your arms out, they should reach your calves. You need ten of those too."

After thinking for a while, Mu's mother gave a number, and the factory manager decided to cut off even more.

Seeing that Mu's mother was about to ask about the price, he quickly waved his hand, "You go and get the clothes first, the price is negotiable, I'll definitely give you the best price."

He could even decide to give the fabric to the other party, but the factory manager had to make the decision.

Mu's mother quickly thanked him and took Lin Chuchu to the workshop.

The rows of machines in the workshop were all busy, but Lin Chuchu looked around and couldn't see any idle machines.

The deputy factory manager found them a sewing machine, and the mother made the first tutu skirt herself.

The tutu has a large ruffle that goes all the way up to the ankle.

Lin Chuchu checked her mother's cooking and found it to be exactly as she had described. Her mother's skills were impeccable.

Lin Chuchu gave Mu's mother a thumbs up, "Mom, your cooking is really good, it's just as good as theirs."

Mother Mu rolled her eyes at her, a smile playing on her lips. "Alright, stop joking. Take a look and see if there's anything that needs changing?"

Lin Chuchu shook her head, "The puffy skirt doesn't need to be altered, it's fine as it is. The rest is just modifying the cheongsam."

Lin Chuchu took out a red cheongsam. The cheongsam was very short, just covering her knees.

In later generations, this skirt wouldn't be considered too short; there are plenty of skirts shorter than this.

But not now; very few people dare to wear such a dress out.

Lin Chuchu moved the side slit up a bit, "Mom, move the slit up to this position."

Mu's mother and the crowd of onlookers all gasped in shock. Mu's mother stared at Lin Chuchu in astonishment.

"Chuchu, are you sure? If the slit goes this far, no one will dare to wear it out."

Lin Chuchu nodded affirmatively, "Yes, that's it."

Seeing that Lin Chuchu showed no sign of changing her mind, Mother Mu assumed that Lin Chuchu was going to give up entirely, so she simply took the document and started revising it.

Just then, the factory manager rushed over and saw a crowd gathered in a circle watching the commotion, so he joined them.

He immediately spotted the tutu placed to the side and his eyes lit up.

He's a factory manager, so he must have good judgment. This dress is sure to sell well; it might even become a bestseller.

If we could hand it over to their factory for wholesale distribution, we would definitely get a lot of business.

Having made up his mind to have a proper discussion with Lin Chuchu, he stood quietly next to the deputy factory director and watched.

The cheongsam was quickly altered, and then came the shawl. The shawl was even simpler; all that was needed was to hem it.

The factory manager said with a troubled expression.

"Comrade Lin, isn't this shawl a bit too long?"

Lin Chuchu nodded, "It is a bit long, but it is prepared for dancers. When they swing it, the longer it is, the better it looks. If ordinary people buy it, a normal shawl will be fine."

All three things were completed, but no one was available to try them out.
