Reborn in the 70s as an Educated Youth

In her previous life, Lin Chuchu was framed by her aunt and uncle, lost her job, and spent her entire life working as their family's servant.

However, her father was a martyr, and her mot...

Chapter 28: Ideas for the Gift Box

The two men, carrying a box, strolled leisurely to the garment factory's exhibition area.

The factory manager had gone to watch the commotion, leaving only two young girls watching.

Upon seeing Lin Chuchu, the two immediately stepped forward. "Comrade Lin, do you need any help?"

Lin Chuchu didn't answer, but was instead attracted by the Chinese knots they were using as decorations. "You know how to weave Chinese knots?"

The two exchanged a glance. "Yes, we felt the exhibition area was too empty, so we added some Chinese knots as decorations."

"I need 47 of these. How long will it take you to finish them?"

It's almost nine o'clock now, and there's still an hour before the exhibition starts.

“Give us an hour and a half, and we can make it, but we can only make the simplest version.”

Lin Chuchu nodded, "Okay, I'll have someone come and pick up some before the exhibition starts."

The two found seats and immediately picked up the red thread to get to work.

Lin Chuchu hadn't found a bag yet. She searched and searched but couldn't find a suitable one. Then, she glanced down and saw the linen bag they used to store their clothes.

I compared the lengths, and they were just right.

The minister then interjected, "The bottom of the box is flat, but this one has no bottom. Will it work?"

Lin Chuchu nodded, "Don't worry, no problem."

The factory manager happened to return and, knowing that Lin Chuchu wanted those bags, tried to dissuade her, but seeing her insistence, he had no choice but to agree.

Lin Chuchu borrowed a sewing machine.

First, fold the bottom of the pocket to one side and sew it to the side fabric, turning it inside out, of course.

Then sew along the other altered edge, and a bottom is quickly formed.

The minister couldn't wait to put the box inside. It was the perfect size and had a handle. The off-white cloth bag was quite simple.

Take the bow and tie it to the handle; instantly, a Chinese style vibe will waft over you.

Several people gave Lin Chuchu a thumbs up.

"Yes, it's beautiful."

Lin Chuchu smiled at the group and then started operating the sewing machine.

After rushing around, Lin Chuchu finally finished making 47 cloth bags and 20 Chinese knots, and took the 20 souvenirs with her.

Finally, when the exhibition was about to begin, Minister Lin Chuchu and other staff members greeted everyone at the entrance.

Having lived two lives, this was Lin Chuchu's first time meeting foreign friends. To be honest, they were a bit arrogant, but they were reasonable. As long as you could persuade them, they would treat you very well.

She didn't know how many people there were in total, but each foreigner had two assistants next to him.

Let's start with a general introduction, given by Lin Chuchu, since she speaks the best English among everyone.

Confident and poised, with a polite smile, she is friendly and courteous.

Lin Chuchu began to introduce each company one by one, without any subjective assumptions, and was very objective, without exaggerating the functions she introduced.

When these friends arrived at the electronics factory, they all exclaimed in amazement.

They weren't too surprised by the color television, as it was similar to those in their country, but the refrigerators, washing machines, and fans astonished them.

"Lin, how come your country's electronic products are so amazing? Wow, the refrigerator is so beautiful."

"The freezer is divided into compartments, and it's so small, it fits perfectly in my house."

In the end, Lin Chuchu couldn't get a word in edgewise, only answering a few questions when they asked her something.

Seeing that many people wanted to sign contracts immediately, Lin Chuchu had no choice but to tell them that it would be best to wait until they had finished introducing all the products.

Next, Lin Chuchu acted like a tour guide, talking and talking. When they arrived at the convenience store, the overwhelming aroma of Chinese food made everyone unable to move.

Seeing the expectant looks in everyone's eyes, Lin Chuchu's lips twitched slightly, and she had no choice but to resign herself to starting to introduce those common Chinese delicacies.

Everything here costs money, and it's much more expensive than outside. For example, a bottle of soda that costs 50 cents outside costs 5 yuan here, ten times that price.

The remaining food was even more expensive, but everyone took it for granted, since it was an exhibition and it was normal to sell at a higher price.

But these people were all rich, and they bought a lot. Lin Chuchu couldn't resist buying a few steamed buns to eat with Mu Chen.

A group of factory managers were dumbfounded as they watched these foreign friends standing there eating without any regard for their image.

Are these foreigners really that down-to-earth?

After introducing all the exhibition areas, there was basically nothing left for her to do. She stood in her assigned area and would approach foreign visitors to give them a presentation.

She was in charge of the electronics factory, which attracted many customers, but the steel factory next door received very few visitors.

The steel mill manager was extremely envious. He heard that the electronics factory had given Comrade Lin a lot of things to take apart and play with. Should he send her a tractor in return?

The sound of gongs could be heard from time to time at the exhibition, signifying that a contract had been signed.

Lin Chuchu had been busy all day and was so thirsty from talking that she didn't even go out for dinner. Instead, she bought a few pies and went back to the guesthouse.

The next morning, Lin Chuchu and Mu Chen arrived at the convention center. As always, they were among the first staff members to arrive.

Looking at the packaging of the souvenirs, Lin Chuchu exclaimed in surprise, "Why are there so many?"

There must be at least four hundred copies, right?

"Comrade Lin may not know that many people did not receive a gift yesterday, and some even had to spend money to buy a complete set of twelve zodiac animals."

The minister smiled broadly. Who would have thought that their exhibition would actually make money after just one day? And that money came from the sales of the convenience store and the food items.

International friends wanted souvenirs, and the gift bag only had one sentence on it: "Here you go, but only one free gift per person. If you want more, you'll have to buy them."

After much deliberation, the higher-ups decided to offer a high price of 25 yuan.
