The brown bear had thick skin and long fur, so Erlang Shen's bite didn't hit its vital spot; he only managed to get a mouthful of fur.

The brown bear, enraged by Erlang Shen's bite, retaliated by striking Erlang Shen's rear with its paw. Fortunately, Erlang Shen was quick-witted and agile, dodging the bear's large claws.
