Reborn in the 70s: I Was a Youth Educated in the Forest Farm

Returning to forty years ago after being reborn, what can one do?

Should one go with the flow of the times and ride the wave, or use the advantages of rebirth to avoid misfortune and seek goo...

Chapter 407 The two kids went wild

When Zhou Qinglan remembered this, she took the initiative to tell her parents.

It's one thing for her to bring it up, but it's another thing if Sheng Xiping says it.

"Xiping, it's kind of you to remember this. We have enough firewood at home, so you don't need to worry about it."

Qinglan is right. It's too far and troublesome. It involves people and vehicles. You may think you haven't spent much money, but in reality, it's all about favors, so it's not worth it.

"I'll ask the lumber mill for some more planks and bark to mix with the fuel during winter," Zhou Mingyuan said immediately.

It's good that the son-in-law cares about his wife's family and is still thinking about burning firewood.

"Dad, when you're gathering firewood, remember to let me know so I can come and help you," Sheng Xiping said with a smile.

"Qingyue will be starting school soon, and you and Mom are both working and quite busy. I'll take care of it then."

A son-in-law is like half a son. If his father-in-law has work to do, he should lend a hand. That's only right.

"Okay, okay, I'll call you then." Since his son-in-law had said so, Zhou Mingyuan immediately nodded in agreement.

The family chatted and laughed, and the topic of Zhou Qingyue's college entrance examination came up again. Zhou Mingyuan and his wife were quite accepting of their son's score.

After all, you know your own child's character best. Besides, you've taken several preliminary tests before, so you know what's going on.

When filling out college applications, Zhou Mingyuan helped me with advice, and he mostly recommended schools within the province, which were close to home and convenient for any issues.

After lunch, Zhou Mingyuan went back to work, while Wang Chunxiu and Zhou Qinglan chatted as they tidied up the house.

The two kids, Sheng Xinhua and Sheng Xinyu, were in a new place and everything seemed new and exciting to them, so they didn't want to sleep.

Upon seeing this, Zhou Qingyue said she would take her nephew to the daycare center at the bureau headquarters. It had slides, swings, seesaws, and other things there, and she figured the two boys would like it.

With nothing else to do, Sheng Xiping went along with them. And so, the two adults and two children went out together and arrived at the nursery next to the No. 1 Primary School.

The bureau's childcare center is specifically set up for the convenience of the bureau's employees, and it doesn't close during the summer.

Zhou Qingyue was quite familiar with the people at the daycare center. After arriving, she told them what was going on and then took her two nephews to play.

This was the first time Sheng Xinhua and Sheng Xinyu had come to play here, and the two brothers were incredibly curious about everything in the yard.

Guided by Zhou Qingyue and Sheng Xiping, the two climbed up the large iron slide and slid down from the top.

Sheng Xinyu laughed heartily, and without needing anyone to help him, he quickly got up from the ground, climbed the steps again, and slid down once more.

Sheng Xinhua had a great time. He was brave and after playing on the slide a few times, he wanted to go swing on the swings.

The swing in the nursery was a large iron frame with iron rings on top, iron chains hanging down from the rings, and a wooden board attached to the chains below.

Sheng Xiping taught his son how to sit on the swing, and then gave him a hard push, and the little guy swung in mid-air.

Sheng Xinhua was daring; even though the swing was flying quite high, he wasn't afraid. Instead, he laughed heartily and urged Sheng Xiping, "Dad, higher, higher!"

Having no other choice, Sheng Xiping instructed his son to grab the chains on both sides while pushing the swing out again, which drew another cheer from Sheng Xinhua.

The children at the daycare woke up from their afternoon nap and came out to play. Sheng Xinhua and Sheng Xinyu got along very well with the other children.

Everyone played together and had a blast. It was past 4 p.m. when other parents came to pick up their children, but the two little ones still didn't want to leave.

"Let's come again tomorrow, otherwise Grandma and Mom will be getting impatient waiting at home. Didn't Grandma say she'd cook something delicious for you tonight?"

It was almost five o'clock, and the daycare was about to close. Sheng Xiping had no choice but to carry one child each with Zhou Qingyue and manage to get out of the daycare.

"Brother-in-law, doesn't your forest farm have a daycare center?"

If you have any, you can send them there directly in the fall. That way, my aunt will have an easier time.

On the way back, Zhou Qingyue muttered to himself.

"There is no nursery in the forest farm, only a childcare class. The youngest child can go there is six years old. If they are too young, they won't take care of them."

Many families in the bureau are dual-income households. If there are no grandparents to take care of the children, they have no choice but to send them to daycare.

Forest farms generally have more male employees than female employees, and even fewer dual-income households.

Therefore, there is only the Yuhong Class, which enrolls children around six years old who can take care of themselves and do not require too much attention from teachers.

They can spend two years in the preschool program before starting primary school.

"Oh, then my aunt will have to put in a few more years of effort."

Zhou Qingyue nodded. "Then there's nothing we can do but let Sheng Xinhua and Sheng Xinyu continue their wild ways for another two years."

The two walked and chatted. When they met acquaintances along the way, some of whom recognized Sheng Xiping, they would inevitably strike up a conversation. Sheng Xiping also taught the child to greet them.

"From now on, call anyone older than Dad 'Uncle,' and anyone younger than Dad 'Uncle.'"

If someone looks similar to Grandpa, with a beard and gray hair, then call them Grandpa, understand?

"Oh, I understand." Sheng Xinhua wasn't done playing yet and was a little unwilling, but he was afraid of Sheng Xiping, so he obediently nodded.

Back at the Zhou family home, Wang Chunxiu and her daughter had already prepared dinner. Seeing Sheng Xiping and the others return so late, Zhou Qinglan even asked them a question.

"Don't even mention it. Our two kids are such attention-seekers. They were playing on the slides and swings at the daycare and didn't want to come back until Qingyue and I had to carry them back."

Sheng Xiping couldn't help but complain to his wife.
