According to Northeastern customs, on the day a daughter gets married, her family usually cooks dumplings.

Regardless of how much or how little food one eats, those accompanying the bride must offer a token of appreciation; there is no reason to accompany a bride on an empty stomach.

The Sheng family was staying at a hotel and couldn't make or cook dumplings, so they ordered dumplings from the restaurant in advance.

Just as they finished eating, the Jiang family's wedding procession arrived.

Sheng Xitai, along with Chen Feng, Sheng Xinhua, and Sheng Xinyu, blocked the wedding party in front of the hotel, demanding red envelopes and refusing to let them in unless they received them.

Fortunately, Jiang Yanbin had made preparations in advance and quickly presented a red envelope, allowing him to enter smoothly.

The wedding party went upstairs and arrived at the bride's room. Chen Yue, along with Sheng Xinyue and Sheng Xinqi, blocked the door.

Without saying a word, the wedding party immediately presented her with a red envelope. Chen Yue was young and easily embarrassed, so she didn't dare to stop them and quickly stepped aside.

Amidst the laughter of the crowd, Jiang Yanbin entered the room, holding a red plastic flower in his arms. He knelt on one knee and shouted, "Wife, I've come to pick you up. Come with me."

Sheng Yunfang smiled as she accepted the flowers, then reached out and pulled Jiang Yanbin to his feet. Jiang Yanbin then changed into the suit prepared by his family, and the bride and groom tied red sashes around each other's waists.

Sheng Xinyao and Sheng Xinyue stepped forward and pinned red flowers on the bride and groom's chests.

Sheng Yunfang and Jiang Yanbin fell in love on their own, and the Sheng family wasn't the type to nitpick, so naturally they wouldn't cause any trouble at the wedding.

So the wedding procession went very smoothly, and with everyone's blessings, Jiang Yanbin successfully received his bride.

Sheng Xinyao and Sheng Xinze helped their aunt put on red wedding shoes, and then Sheng Xiping carried his younger sister downstairs to the wedding car outside.

The Jiang family went to great lengths to organize this wedding, using all their connections to put together such a large wedding procession.

The lead vehicle was a sedan, followed by several jeeps, and at the very back was a commuter bus from the factory.

The convoy, carrying the Sheng family, circled around most of the way back to the Jiang family.

Then, amidst the sound of firecrackers, the newlyweds got out of the car. Sheng Yunfang pinned a red flower on Cao Yuqin, who came to greet them, and affectionately called her "Mom."

Cao Yuqin was so happy that she couldn't stop smiling. She quickly agreed, took the treasure basin from her daughter-in-law's hand, and helped her daughter-in-law into the yard.

The Jiang family lived in a residential compound with two and a half public housing units. The west room was renovated and used as a new room for Jiang Yanbin's wedding.

The west room door was decorated with the character for "happiness," the windows were decorated with paper-cut magpies perched on plum blossoms, and the ceiling was draped with colorful ribbons, creating a very festive atmosphere.

Sheng Xitai carried the desk lamp into the room and plugged it in.

Chen Yue and Sheng Xinqi and Sheng Xinyue hung up the curtains and door curtains, and then arranged the cosmetics and other items.

The others also placed the bedding and other items given to them by their mothers' families on the kang (a heated brick bed).

Jiang Yanbin is the youngest child in the Jiang family. He graduated from university, has a good job, and married a wife with a high level of education and a good family background. This wedding must be a grand affair.

The factory's staff quarters were too small to hold a banquet, so the banquet was arranged in the factory's staff canteen, and the ceremony was also held there.

"Okay, thank you very much to all our relatives and friends for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend the wedding of the groom Jiang Yanbin and the bride Sheng Yunfang."

Today, the groom and his family have prepared a sumptuous feast to entertain their guests.

The banquet will begin soon, please be seated. I won't say much more, just enjoy your meal.

The wedding emcee gave a brief closing speech, which was met with applause.

The banquet was very lavish, with twelve dishes on each table, including chicken, fish, and braised pork knuckle, and the dishes were quite substantial.

On the Jiang family's side, some prominent figures were specially arranged to accompany the guests from the bride's family at the banquet.

The guests chatted and laughed, drinking heartily, creating a lively atmosphere.

Jiang Yanbin and Sheng Yunfang, accompanied by Da Zhanglu and several young members of the Jiang family, went from table to table toasting each other.

Some mischievous young men would come up with all sorts of dirty tricks to make things difficult for the newlyweds, but the young men from the Jiang family would help to fend them off and try their best not to embarrass the bride.

Sheng Lianjie and Sheng Lianqiu, as the bride's uncles, went to the kitchen to thank the head chef and gave him cigarettes and a red envelope.

The head chef happily accepted the gift and quickly led his team to prepare two dishes to send up – these were a gift from the bride's family.

The banquet started a little after 11 a.m., and just after midnight, the bride's family members got up and left to return to the hotel to rest.

They had agreed before getting married that the couple would not return to their parents' home after the wedding.

Another thing is that the Chinese New Year is just around the corner, and everyone is eager to go home and get ready for the holiday.

So that afternoon, Jiang Guozhong sent his children to the hotel to invite the Sheng family over. The Jiang family prepared several tables of food and drink and went directly to the in-laws.

Originally, Jiang Yanbin's group of friends were supposed to come and make a ruckus in the bridal chamber that night.

As it turned out the Sheng family was there, the group of young men were too embarrassed to cause trouble. They just sat at the Jiang family's house for a while, chatted, and then left.

The two families got together, chatted and grew closer, and drank more and more until after 8 p.m. before finally ending the evening.

After the Sheng family left, the Jiang family's relatives also found places to rest. Jiang Yanbin and Sheng Yunfang spent their wedding night peacefully.
