Returning to forty years ago after being reborn, what can one do?
Should one go with the flow of the times and ride the wave, or use the advantages of rebirth to avoid misfortune and seek goo...
"Dad, Mom, eldest brother and sister-in-law, let's go home. Everyone's waiting for us." Sheng Yunfang composed herself and smiled at everyone.
And so, the group drove straight to Sheng Yunfang's residence.
After Sheng Yunfang and Jiang Yanbin got married, the young couple didn't live in that villa at first. They thought it was too big and troublesome to clean, and they both had to work and didn't have time.
Once Jiang Luwen could walk, the two-bedroom apartment was no longer suitable for her.
Just then, Jiang Guozhong also came to Shanghai after retiring. Sheng Yunfang and Jiang Yanbin discussed it and decided that they should move to a more spacious house.
This villa also has a garden, providing ample space for Jiang Luwen to run wild.
Before Sheng Yunfang and Jiang Yanbin got married, she owned two properties. At that time, the Sheng family said that the Jiang family did not need to prepare a house for her.
But the Jiang family always felt that something was amiss.
When Jiang Yanbin's workplace built housing for the benefit of the residents, Jiang's parents, along with Jiang Yanbin's older brother and sister, pooled their savings to help Jiang Yanbin buy an apartment as well.
Now that the building is completed and allocated, it was simply tidied up and rented out directly.
They also rented out the house they used to live in, and the rent alone was quite substantial each month, enough to cover their daily living expenses.
Jiang Guozhong and Cao Yuqin both have pensions, so the young couple doesn't have to pay for their child's expenses; the elderly couple buys everything for the child.
Sheng Yunfang and Jiang Yanbin hardly ever used their salaries and bonuses; they saved them all and lived a very comfortable life.
Jiang Guozhong and his wife were overjoyed to see the Sheng family. Jiang Luwen, that little girl, was a real attention-seeker and was thrilled to see family members visiting.
Under Grandma's guidance, I greeted my maternal grandparents, uncles and aunts, and cousins.
Zhang Shuzhen held her granddaughter tightly, not letting go. Sheng Xinyue and Sheng Xinqi also liked their little cousin very much and surrounded her, playing with her.
Sheng Liancheng and Jiang Guozhong hadn't seen each other for a long time, so they got together and chatted very warmly.
In the evening, Jiang Yanbin booked a table at a nearby restaurant and invited the Sheng family out for dinner.
Originally, Sheng Xiping planned to stay in a hotel, as it wouldn't be convenient for the eight of them to stay at Sheng Yunfang's place.
But the Chiang family disagreed no matter what. They said they had plenty of rooms in the house and could live comfortably, so there was no need to live outside.
Northeasterners are particular about these things and would never let guests...
The logic is that they should stay outside. Besides, this house was part of the Sheng family's dowry. They only come over occasionally, so how can they stay outside?
There was no other way, so Sheng Xiping and the others had to stay at Sheng Yunfang's house.
The Sheng family spent a few days in Shanghai, visiting places like the Bund, Yu Garden, the Huangpu River, the City God Temple, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, and Chongming Island.
Zhang Shuzhen bought quite a few things, many of which were for Sheng Xitai's engagement.
Sheng Xiping also took the children to visit Sister Hui. Sister Hui's husband had been transferred from northern Xinjiang to Shanghai, and Weiwei had been admitted to university and would graduate in two years.
Afterwards, the family went to Suzhou, Wuxi and other places, taking a quick look around.
Before we knew it, it was already August 16th. With only a few days left before the start of school, the children, though they hadn't had enough fun, had to head back home.
Zhou Qinglan took her four children by plane to Shenyang, and then took a train directly back to Songjianghe.
Sheng Xiping accompanied his parents on a train journey north to the capital.
On September 2nd, Sheng Xitai and Lin Xiangxue got engaged in the presence of their relatives, friends, and workplace leaders.
In addition to the normal engagement ceremony, the Sheng family gave a bride price of 6,600 yuan, plus a gold necklace, gold earrings, and a gold ring.
When toasting and addressing Lin Xiangxue, Zhang Shuzhen gave her a large red envelope.
The Lin family was not stingy either, preparing a return gift of 1,600 yuan and also giving Sheng Xitai a large red envelope.
Both sides gave each other plenty of face, and the engagement went very smoothly.
At the engagement banquet, both parties agreed to get married on the sixteenth day of the twelfth lunar month before the Lunar New Year.
The wedding was held in the capital. Three days after the wedding, the couple returned to their parents' home in the northeast, where they held a banquet to entertain relatives and friends.
After the engagement, Zhang Shuzhen gave her youngest son 20,000 yuan and asked them to help him buy some things for the wedding.
Sheng Xiping had already said he would take care of all the home appliances and furniture; the rest were just miscellaneous items that the young couple could discuss and buy.
With the autumn harvest just around the corner, Sheng Liancheng started to feel restless and had no interest in playing outside.
So on September 4th, the family of three set off back, arrived at Songjianghe on the 5th, and on the 6th, Sheng Xiping accompanied his parents back to the forest farm.
"Dad, it's still early to harvest the land. How about you and I go into the mountains tomorrow? Let's go take another look at that old village?"
Sheng Xiping was also the kind of person who couldn't sit still. After returning to the forest farm, he suddenly remembered that he hadn't visited the ginseng field for several years.
Since I have nothing to do at home anyway, I might as well go and take a look. If there's a big shipment, I'll take it; if not, I'll just leave it at that.
"Okay, let's go then." Reminded by his son, Sheng Liancheng also remembered. Indeed, it had been several years since he last visited.
They arrived too early that year in Qinglangtou City, and all they brought was a single ginseng seedling, which wasn't even that big.
It's not too late yet, you can go and take a look.
The father and son discussed it and got up early the next morning. They took all sorts of equipment for rafting and headed straight for Lao'anzi.
Qianchuan Forest Farm is close to the main peak of Changbai Mountain. Although it is only early September, some of the leaves have already begun to change color.
The autumn wind was bleak, and after a gust of wind, many leaves rustled and fell.
It's been five years since I last came here, and the mountains have changed quite a bit.
Fortunately, they were both experienced mountain runners and were very familiar with the terrain and routes. Following the route in their memory, the father and son walked for several hours and finally found the old burial mound they had cut down.
