Chapter 949 Buying a Computer (2/2)

"Brother Wei, your wife is back!" Zhang Wei's brothers grinned slyly.

Xiaoyuer glared at them, then sat down at her computer. She was so tired from jumping that she was exhausted. She turned on the computer and fell asleep on the table.

Seeing that Xiaoyuer had fallen asleep, Zhang Wei beckoned to his brothers, who understood and followed him out.

"Hey guys, wanna pull off something big tonight?" Zhang Wei pulled a cigarette out of his companion's pocket and lit it.

"Brother Wei, whatever you say, we'll do it your way." The group of thugs all listened to Zhang Wei.

"There's a new XX specialty store that just opened on Jianshe Street. They have all kinds of things like mobile phones and computers. Shall we go check it out?" Zhang Wei was thinking about the computers Xiaoyuer had mentioned, and he set his sights on the specialty store.

"There must be security guards there, right? Can the few of us handle this?" asked a young thug with half-yellow and half-green hair.

"Let's go check it out first, make some noise, and if there are security guards, we'll leave and do something else." Zhang Wei wasn't stupid; if one of them got caught, the rest of them would be in trouble.

"Okay, let's go take a look. Cell phones and computers are valuable. If we can pull this off, we'll be rich!" The thugs rubbed their hands together, very excited.

After discussing it for a while, the group took a taxi to Jianshe Street.

The streets were deserted in the early morning; the north wind, carrying snow and smoke, felt like knives cutting into my face.

Several people, wearing hats and with their faces completely covered by scarves, walked around the street.

Finally, they stopped in front of the store. The store's roller shutter was closed. Zhang Wei gave a signal, and the group dispersed.

Zhang Wei kicked the roller shutter door a few times with all his might, then ran away quickly, making a rattling noise.

After waiting for several minutes without seeing anyone come out to check, Zhang Wei repeated the process several times, but still nothing happened.

A group of thugs, each carrying a brick, approached the roller shutter door, their expressions excited. With such a commotion, and no one coming out, there must be no security guards.

Zhang Wei looked at the roller shutter door. It was an electric roller shutter door, and it didn't have a floor lock installed. Such a door would be easy to pry open.

"Lei Zi, pry open the door. After you've got it, split up and run. Meet at the usual spot." Lei Zi was a locksmith who specialized in breaking and picking locks. He had learned a lot of lock-picking techniques at an internet cafe and was quite talented.

Lei Zi pulled a small crowbar from his cotton-padded coat and used it to pry open the electric switch of the roller shutter door. Two minutes later, the roller shutter door opened. Lei Zi, holding the crowbar, stood guard at the door while the others went into the store.

The group worked together very well, and once inside, they each went to different locations.

Zhang Wei went straight to the computer counter, where several demo units were displayed. He took out a bag from his pocket and stuffed two laptop demo units into it.

He jumped over the counter, but the cabinet below was locked. He smashed the lock open with a brick in his hand and found several Kaifeng laptops inside. Zhang Wei quickly stuffed them into a bag.

Then he whistled, and the thugs, hearing the whistle, quickly left the store with their bags on their backs and scattered in all directions.

Zhang Wei turned around and went to a place first.

Just as dawn was breaking, a few people gathered in a dilapidated house.

"Brother Wei, we're going to make a fortune this time!" The thug excitedly emptied his bag, revealing dozens of unopened new cell phones.

"This is the money in the cash register," another thug said, pulling all the money out of his pocket.

The other two also took out their items.

There are over a hundred mobile phones, more than ten laptops, and over five thousand yuan in cash. The amount of money isn't too much; it's probably just reserve funds.

"Brother, we're rich!" The thug looked at the goods, very excited.

"Let's split the money first. Don't touch these things for now. This has caused too much of a stir. The police will definitely investigate the whole city. Behave yourselves and stay home. We'll sell these things outside once things have calmed down." Zhang Wei was young but very steady, instructing the thugs.

“Okay, brother, we’ll listen to you. This money, if we save it a bit, will last us ten days to half a month.” The thugs all followed Zhang Wei’s lead and listened to him.
