Reborn in the Apocalypse: Bringing the Whole Village to Farm

The apocalypse arrived, but there were no zombies. Only unpredictable extreme weather and daily squabbles forced humans to survive on instinct alone to avoid being eliminated.

Yun Qi struggle...

Chapter 13 Cousin

As the Lunar New Year approached, the holiday finally arrived on the 27th day of the twelfth lunar month. Sicheng took the earliest high-speed train to meet up with Yunqi, and the two of them took a flight home together from X City.

The two didn't have any large luggage. The gifts they bought for their families had already been sent back by a logistics company. Their personal belongings were stored in a separate space, and they only carried a small bag with them.

The two, traveling light, stood out at the airport. During the Spring Festival travel rush, everyone was carrying large bags and some were even pushing several suitcases. Compared to them, it felt like they were on a business trip rather than going home.

Because Sicheng was with me, I didn't ask my cousin to pick me up at the airport, but I did arrange to go home with her.

Yunqi's mother and aunt married into a neighboring village, and the two families lived not far apart. It takes two hours to drive from the city to their hometown. My cousin had some personal matters to attend to today, so we arranged to drive back together after dinner.

After getting off the plane, I saw that I still had some time, so I found a famous local restaurant and ate some local specialties.

After finishing their meal, the two rented an SUV from a rental company and then went on a big shopping spree in the city.

Because I knew my father-in-law well, I bought gifts according to his preferences.

After shopping, I met up with my cousin at the agreed time, and it was almost time to pick her up.

My cousin's full name is Gao Jie. She has an older brother named Gao Liang; they are twins. Gao Jie has a gentle personality, and you'll always feel cared for when you're with her.

"You must be tired from the journey. Are you hungry? Is there anything you'd like to eat? I'll treat you." As soon as you got into the car, Yan asked softly. "I didn't expect you to come back together. Please take good care of Xiaoqi over there. Xiaoqi can tell your cousin anything you need."

"Sis, if you see any good food, take us there. You know this place well."

"Turn right ahead..." He directed them all the way to a farmhouse.

"The food here tastes pretty good, and we often have meals here. All the vegetables here are grown on their own, and they also raise a lot of chickens and ducks on the mountain behind, as well as a fish pond. Everything is green and organic."

As soon as she got out of the car, she saw Si Yue holding Yun Qi's hand and walking inside. Gao Jie stood there stunned.

"Sis, hurry up!" She turned around and saw her cousin standing there motionless, so she called out.

"When...when did this happen? When did you get together?" Gao Jie asked in surprise.

"We've been together for a while now, and this time Cheng-ge came back to propose to my parents," Yunqi said frankly.

"This is too fast! They didn't even give us any advance notice. If my dad knew, he would be so happy." Mr. Gao always had a lot on his mind about this nephew, and worried that he would be influenced by his parents, so he didn't dare to push him too hard.

“Xiao Qi is a very good girl, so I want to settle down as soon as possible,” Si Cheng said, patting Yun Qi’s head.

"Brother, you have to be good to Xiao Qi and not bully him."

"Sis, we'll be fine. Let's go inside quickly. I'm starving! Haven't you noticed how thin I've gotten?"

"Let me see where she's gotten thinner, I'll pinch her to make her plumper," he said, pinching Xiaoqi's face.

We ordered a few local specialties and then grabbed some sunflower seeds from the table, chatting as we ate them.

Even the gentlest woman has a gossipy side. Gao Jie kept asking why they got together, who pursued whom first, when they were getting married, and so on, until Yun Qi could barely keep up.

Si Cheng was rather taciturn outside, sitting quietly to the side watching them laugh and joke, occasionally refilling their tea.
