The apocalypse arrived, but there were no zombies. Only unpredictable extreme weather and daily squabbles forced humans to survive on instinct alone to avoid being eliminated.
Yun Qi struggle...
How long can you stay this time?
"We have to go back to work on the eighth day of the Lunar New Year, and we should be back by the seventh day at the latest."
"That's because he didn't get to stay at home for more than a few days."
Tell Dad what you want to eat these next few days.
"There is something I really need to tell you." Yunqi glanced at his parents cautiously.
"Did you get into some trouble outside?" Yun's mother looked at her suspiciously.
"My boyfriend wants to visit tomorrow."
"What did you say?"
“I told him that my boyfriend wants to visit tomorrow,” Yunqi repeated.
"Which brat is it?" Mr. Yun asked anxiously.
"Sweetie, tell Mommy where he's from? Is he nice to you?"
"You know this person too."
"We know each other too? Isn't it that classmate from high school who always walked you home?"
"Mom, what are you thinking? He just came to our house today."
"No one came to our house today." She still didn't think of Sicheng.
"It was my uncle's nephew who brought us back today."
"Oh, it's him! Why did you look for him?" Yun's mother asked in surprise.
"He's a good person, Mom, you know him too."
"I've heard of him. After all, it's such a small place, and we're relatives. His unreliable parents are notorious around here." Thinking of his background, Yun's mother shook her head.
"It's not that he's a bad person. It's just that this child won't have his parents' support in the future."
"Isn't it you we have here? We want to live with you from now on," Yunqi said, clinging to her mother's arm affectionately.
"Then tell us about his situation," Mr. Yun asked seriously.
Yunqi then told his parents everything, including that he would return to his hometown to develop his career after a year.
"Are you sure?"
“I’ve made up my mind, it’s him,” Yun Qi said decisively.
"Then have him come over tomorrow. We want to test him. If he can't pass our test, then don't blame Dad," Dad said angrily.
"Dad's the best!" Mom glared at him.
"Mom and I love you both the most."
"Your room has been cleaned. Go and get some rest." Seeing Yun Qi's exhausted face, Yun's mother felt sorry for her and urged her to rest.
"Okay, goodnight Daddy! Goodnight Mommy!"
After taking a shower, I lay in bed, smelling the sunshine-filled scent of the blankets, and drifted off to sleep.
Meanwhile, Yun's father tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep, his anger rising within him.
"Go to sleep, you can worry about it tomorrow," Yun's mother joked.
"I can't sleep. I should have beaten that brat up earlier."
"Actually, to be selfish, that young man is quite good. At least Xiao Qi doesn't have to worry about conflicts between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, and he's willing to live with us. We're the ones who got a good deal."
"What do you mean by 'getting a bargain'? Our Xiaoqi is such a good girl. Besides, we don't even know what kind of person that young man is!" Mr. Yun said excitedly.
"Why are you so agitated? I'm just stating the facts. Besides, my brother-in-law really likes his nephew. I've heard him mention him a few times, and he's always praising him. I still trust my brother-in-law's judgment."
"No matter what, I still want to test him myself. If I don't teach him a lesson, he won't cherish it in the future."
“My father didn’t make you suffer much back then.”
“That’s different. My father-in-law had a keen eye for talent when he saw such a good son-in-law as me,” Mr. Yun quickly said, trying to appease her.
"Go to sleep, you'll have the energy to be a father-in-law tomorrow," Yun's mother teased him.
