Seeing Shao Jie's anger, Li Xiao inexplicably found herself amused.

Sweetie rushed up to Shao Jie and started arguing with him.

Shao Jie explained to her with a forced smile. Li Xiao watched the two of them argue.

Are we going the same way? It's not that it's impossible, but we're not familiar with each other.

Seeing Li Xiao lost in thought, Cheng Shaolin understood after a moment's thought. Looking into her eyes, he said, "You're going to Beijing too, so it'll be good to keep each other company. This man is truly handsome. His thick, black hair, perhaps unkempt, is a bit long, with some strands hanging down over his ears because he's looking down. With her elegant and refined appearance, she is very attractive.

Seeing Li Xiao's expression, he smiled even more broadly. He continued, "You can try trusting her first. If you don't feel comfortable with her, then you can make a decision. It's okay." He was actually worried that Li Xiao might not get along well with others, and if she felt it wasn't a good fit, they could leave alone together.

Li Xiao stared blankly at his face. He was so tall, much taller than her, she could only look up at him. "Why?" Are people so easy to talk to these days? She didn't believe anyone would suddenly be so nice to her; there must be a reason.

"It's nothing. Aren't you going to Beijing? Aren't you going the same way? Wouldn't it be better if you went together?"

"But there's no such thing as a reason. What's the reason?"

Shao Jie, noticing the situation, stopped and interjected, "What could be the reason? What else could it be?" He couldn't understand why this girl was so cautious. Other girls would fawn over Cheng Ge or throw themselves at him. Why did she look so disbelieving? Was he going to eat her up? But he couldn't say. Cheng Ge hadn't said anything, so there must be a reason.

Seeing the questioning look on Li Xiao's face, Cheng Shaolin felt helpless. This girl was just too cautious.

Shao Jie looked at him, his face showing a mixture of wanting to ask but not knowing how. He understood that there was a reason he hadn't explained: Li Xiao didn't remember anything. If he recognized her now, she probably wouldn't believe him a thousand times over. Just like now, she simply couldn't believe they really just wanted to invite them to travel together; there was no other reason.

But right now, this girl doesn't trust anyone. I thought it would be better to explain things to her after we've spent a few days together, gotten to know each other better, and have a better understanding of her beforehand; that would make it easier for her to believe me. Now isn't the time.

But things just kept happening. I heard they were leaving the next day, so if I didn't say anything today, when would I ever have the chance to?

As I just mentioned, this girl has a look on her face that says, "There's something wrong with you guys." It's true, when someone you've just met suddenly becomes inexplicably nice to you, it's impossible not to think the wrong thing.

Li Xiao and the other person continued walking towards the building.

Sweetie was still holding her arm and talking. "Never mind anything else for now, I'll run you a bath later," before she could finish speaking, Shao Jie came running over like a madman, shouting all the while.

Both of them were stunned, wondering what was wrong with this person.

Shao Jie, frantic with worry, asked urgently, "A bath? Is there water for a bath?"

After hearing what he said, Tian Tian was completely stunned. Li Xiao also frowned as she looked at him.

Seeing their expressions, Cheng Shaolin grabbed Shao Jie, preventing him from moving forward. Seeing that he was being held back, Shao Jie asked Cheng Shaolin curiously, "Brother Cheng, what's wrong? Why are you pulling me?"

Cheng Shaolin was speechless and quickly interrupted him, "What are you doing? Look at you, you've scared everyone."

Shao Jie was a little embarrassed. He turned around and saw Tian Tian looking flustered. He quickly explained, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I scared you." He even scratched his head sheepishly, "We haven't showered in a long time, and we all smelled terrible. I knew you could smell it, you could tell from how far away you were."

Cheng Shaolin and the others felt very embarrassed. They had been rushing on their journey and hadn't had a proper rest. Water was scarce, so they couldn't afford to take a bath. As a result, they hadn't been able to take a bath even once. No wonder they smelled bad! They didn't want to stand close to them, but the women could smell it too, even though they were so far away.

Li Xiao felt embarrassed that she had been exposed; the strong smell wasn't her fault. Her face burned, but she didn't argue.

"He got so excited when he heard you say you wanted to take a shower. It's hot, and he smelled terrible." He was quite embarrassed as he finished speaking.

Li Xiao understood, but she didn't know what kind of people these were, and she was afraid they might harm Tian Tian.

Because they had given her a heads-up before, Tian Tian was a little paranoid. She didn't know these people well and didn't dare to agree easily. She looked at Li Xiao with some hesitation. Li Xiao told her that if she didn't want to, she didn't have to agree; it was her decision, and it would be fine.

Sweetie didn't agree; she was a little scared and afraid of causing trouble for her companion. She didn't dare look Shao Jie in the eye and followed Li Xiao away with her head down.

Shao Jie was a little disappointed, and Cheng Shaolin patted him on the shoulder. "It's normal for them not to agree since they're not familiar with you. What's there to be upset about?"
