Ming Yao marries into the Pei family in place of her sister, who has a messy private life, and becomes pregnant with that man's child.
As a result, her child is snatched away, her mother ...
Mingyao felt completely bewildered.
She looked at Pei Siyu with confusion and asked, "Why would you think I have a relationship with him, Master Pei?"
“Wang Zhouheng is a doctor, what’s so strange about him contacting me?”
Pei Siyu's eyes grew even darker, a chilling coldness surging within them, causing the surrounding temperature to plummet to zero degrees Celsius.
"Still trying to deny it?"
He practically squeezed those three words out from between his teeth, and he increased the pressure on his hands.
The sharp pain in her wrist made Mingyao cry out, "Master Pei, let me go first."
Pei Siyu's strength was extraordinary; he almost crushed her wrist bones into countless pieces.
Just a minute ago, the atmosphere between the two of them was so ambiguous, but in an instant, Pei Siyu's attitude towards her changed completely.
How can he change his expression faster than flipping through a book?
Pei Siyu got jealous just because Wang Zhouheng called and texted her?
Seeing Mingyao's red eyes, Pei Siyu smiled, but his voice remained chillingly cold.
"Fine, you say you and Wang Zhouheng are innocent."
"Then why did he call and text you so late?"
His eyes shone with a questioning light.
Mingyao opened her mouth slightly, about to explain, but the words stuck in her throat and she didn't know how to say them.
She couldn't possibly tell Pei Siyu about Ming Suqin, could she?
Seeing that Mingyao could not give an answer for a long time, Pei Siyu's cold black eyes were covered with a layer of anger.
He asked in a low voice, "Speak!"
He tightened his grip again, and Mingyao's eyes welled up with tears from the pain.
"Master Pei, I... I don't know how to explain this."
She looked at Pei Siyu with a pitiful expression, trying to feign weakness and gain his mercy.
"Master Pei, you have to believe me."
"Wang Zhouheng and I are truly innocent."
Mingyao's wrist was in so much pain, it felt like it was about to be ripped off her arm, that her voice was trembling.
Pei Siyu scoffed coldly, his gaze towards Ming Yao now filled with disgust.
"Su Xueya, do you think I'm stupid?!"
In that instant, his eyes held anger, disappointment, and a complexity that Mingyao couldn't decipher.
Mingyao's heart tightened suddenly, and she even became careful with her breathing.
Pei Siyu disgustedly shook off Mingyao's hand, his cold gaze, like an icicle, piercing her chest without any politeness.
The chill emanating from my chest, accompanied by my pounding heartbeat, swept through my entire body.
Perhaps Pei Siyu had thrown her away with too much force, and Mingyao staggered back a few steps.
After standing still, Mingyao shivered and curled her icy hands into a ball.
Pei Siyu's tall figure stood with his back to Shen Zhiyuan, exuding a cold aura that kept people at a distance.
He said coldly, "Get out!"
He threw down his phone without even glancing at Mingyao.
Mingyao felt a stinging sensation in her eyes and nose, and her heart ached with sharp pain.
She lowered her head, gently touching the purple marks on her wrist, and said apologetically, "I'm sorry."
Mingyao squatted down and numbly picked up her phone.
Before leaving the study, Mingyao glanced at Pei Siyu's retreating figure one last time, and a feeling of suffocation washed over her.
After leaving the study where the air was still and humid, Mingyao strode back to her room.
After closing the door, her tears flowed uncontrollably.
She covered her mouth, tears streaming down her face as if they were free.
Why are you so sad?
The image of Pei Siyu shouting "Get out!" with his back to her echoed in Mingyao's mind again and again, as if it were imprinted deep in her mind.
She didn't explain because she had something she couldn't say, and Pei Siyu simply assumed she was an immoral woman.
The grievances and sadness were like a raging beast, which devoured Mingyao in an instant.
She hadn't been this sad in a long time.
Mingyao closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and began to adjust her mood.
She leaned against the door, her heart aching terribly.
Mingyao lay sprawled on the bed, staring blankly at the crystal chandelier above her head.
Too much has happened today; Mingyao is already overwhelmed, both physically and mentally.
But she wasn't sleepy at all; her mind was filled with Pei Siyu.
This was a terrible omen for Mingyao.
Pei Siyu irresistibly invaded her heart, making it impossible for her to see anyone else.
After feeling a bit better, Mingyao called Wang Zhouheng back, but no one answered.
Just in case, she sent a text message. She stared at it for more than ten minutes, but didn't receive a reply.
The next day, a knocking sound startled Mingyao awake.
She suddenly opened her eyes and sat up in bed.
Aunt Wu's concerned voice came from the other side of the door, "Miss Su, it's almost time for you to go to work."
Mingyao subconsciously took out her phone, glanced at the time, and her eyes widened immediately.
She jumped out of bed quickly, hurriedly changed her clothes, and ran out.
Aunt Wu chased after Mingyao, saying hurriedly, "Miss Su, have breakfast first."
Mingyao was so hungry that she pressed her face against her back.
I used up a lot of energy yesterday, so I ate very little.
Having no other choice, Mingyao stood by the dining table, grabbed two steamed buns haphazardly, and stuffed them into her mouth.
She finished the bun in a few bites, then drank two big gulps of soy milk. "Aunt Wu, I'm full, I'm leaving now."
Mingyao picked up her handbag, changed her shoes, turned around, and looked at the seat where Pei Siyu often sat at the dining table. A sense of loss welled up inside her.
He didn't eat breakfast today.
Mingyao didn't have time to think about anything else and rushed out without looking back.
