The thug became interested, raised an eyebrow, and looked at Mingyao with a mocking expression, "Who are you?"

"I……"

"My husband is powerful and influential in Haidu. If you dare to touch me!"

"My husband will arrest you all!"

She frowned, her eyes flashing with a chilling and extremely dangerous light.

His icy gaze was like a knife, as if he wanted to tear them to pieces.

The thug was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter.

They laughed so hard they were doubled over, as if they had heard the biggest joke in the world.

"Come on, tell me, what kind of big shot is your husband in Haidu?"

Mingyao said, feeling a lump in her throat, "Why should I tell you who my husband is?!"

"You'd better get out of here right now!"

Mingyao knew it was stupid to do this, but as long as it could buy her time, she was willing to do anything, no matter how stupid it was!

Mingyao gritted her teeth; she wasn't lying.

Pei Siyu is one of the most outstanding young talents in Haidu, and everyone in the entire city knows his name.

But she couldn't reveal Pei Siyu's identity.

Even if I tell them, they might not believe me.

The thug burst into laughter upon hearing Mingyao's answer.

"Haha, sister, why are you using your husband to scare us?"

"As long as you obey us, we will treat you well."

The leader of the thugs smirked and looked at Mingyao with a smug grin.

He licked his lips, staring intently at Mingyao, leering at her as he looked her up and down.

His gaze disgusted Mingyao.

Mingyao shrank back two steps and said coldly, "I really am already married."

She gritted her teeth and decided to go all out.

She clenched her fists and said in a deep voice, "I really am married, and my husband is..."

"My husband is Pei Siyu!"

Mingyao silently apologized to Pei Siyu in her heart, admitting that she hadn't revealed it unintentionally.

The key point is that these people probably won't believe it and will treat it as a joke.

Just as Mingyao had predicted, the thugs responded after hearing her call out the name.

The three of them looked at each other, and after a brief silence, they burst into laughter.

"Haha, Pei Siyu?"

The thugs laughed so hard they almost choked on their breath.

"Is your husband Pei Siyu?"

"Is this the Pei Siyu we know?"

Mingyao swallowed hard, forced a smile, and said, "In the entire Haidu, is there another person named Pei Siyu?"

She snorted coldly and said with a forced smile, "Are you scared now?"

"He'll come to my rescue as soon as I make a phone call!"

Mingyao raised her chin and said jokingly, "You all know how amazing Pei Siyu is, right?"

"You'd better think carefully about what will happen if you mess with him!"

Mingyao's serious expression made the others both laugh and cry.

The woman asked in astonishment, "Sister, is your husband really Pei Siyu?"

Mingyao felt a chill run down her spine and said, "How could it be fake?"

She glared at the thugs and said in a threatening tone, "You'd better think this through!"

"Pei Siyu is not someone to be trifled with!"

The thugs nodded repeatedly and stepped aside, saying, "We can't afford to mess with them, so can't we just avoid them?"

Mingyao was slightly surprised. Did these thugs really believe it?

She gripped the woman's hand tightly and walked past the thugs without batting an eye.

Several thugs chuckled, rubbing their chins, their lewd gazes fixed on Mingyao and the woman.

The fact that these thugs didn't believe her actually made her secretly relieved.

Mingyao gripped the woman's wrist tightly and whispered in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Get ready to run away."

She took off running, grabbed the woman, and ran forward without a care in the world.

Soon, the thugs' laughter came from behind, "Aren't you Madam Pei, sister? Why are you so afraid of us?"

Mingyao dared not breathe and used all her strength to run forward.

The cold night wind stung my face like knives.

The woman had also become more sober and dared not slow down, following closely behind Mingyao.

The three thugs ran very fast and were about to catch up with the woman and Mingyao in the blink of an eye.

The woman burst into tears, "They're catching up with us soon!"

For the first time, Mingyao felt that the alley was so long, so long that even if she and the woman tried their best, they couldn't run out.

The thugs easily caught up with Mingyao and blocked their only escape route.

Mingyao retreated, panting, to create distance between herself and the thug.

Do you want to provoke Pei Siyu?

The thug smirked, "We haven't been with any of the women Pei Siyu has been with. It'll be a good opportunity to try them out."

The greasy words were like forcing a bucket of oil down Mingyao's throat, almost making her vomit up her dinner from the night before.

"You guys are really bold! I'll call Pei Siyu right now!"

The thug crossed his arms, adopting a look of anticipation, and said, "Fine, go ahead and make the call."

Mingyao took out her phone, hesitating whether or not to call Pei Siyu.

Why not call the police?

Just as Mingyao was pondering, Pei Siyu called.

Mingyao was startled and paused for a moment.

In that split second of her daze, her hand went empty.

The thugs snatched her phone, and Mingyao's heart sank to the bottom.

We're doomed!

Mingyao reached out to grab the phone, but the thug held it up high and started teasing her.

Was that a call from your husband?

Mingyao angrily shouted, "Give it back to me!"

The thugs gave her no chance and pressed the call button directly.
