Ming Yao marries into the Pei family in place of her sister, who has a messy private life, and becomes pregnant with that man's child.
As a result, her child is snatched away, her mother ...
No matter how much Xia Kexing screamed, everyone present ignored her until her voice completely disappeared from the company, at which point the discussions began.
Xia Kexing's fate was entirely her own fault.
Mingyao secretly breathed a sigh of relief; it was finally over.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Supervisor Zhang stepped forward and dispersed the employees: "It's time to go to work. Everyone, go and do your own thing."
The colleagues snapped out of their daze and left the lobby with lightning speed.
In an instant, only four people remained in the large front hall.
Mingyao, Pei Siyu, and their special assistants, as well as Manager Zhang.
Manager Zhang's face was plastered with a fawning smile, and he would occasionally wipe the cold sweat from his forehead in a flustered manner.
He had always suspected Mingyao's identity, never daring to imagine that she was Pei Siyu's wife!
In just a few minutes, Manager Zhang recalled all his interactions with Mingyao after she joined the company.
Fortunately, he never felt sorry for Mingyao, otherwise he would be in big trouble today.
"President Pei, I should go to work now."
Mingyao quickly tidied her hair and prepared to return to the front desk to continue working.
Suddenly her wrist tightened, she paused, turned around, and met Pei Siyu's gaze.
"Walk."
"ah?"
Pei Siyu didn't even turn his head, grabbing her wrist and pulling her forward without saying a word.
Mingyao was confused: "President Pei, I still have to go to work, where are you taking me?"
She looked at Manager Zhang for help, and Manager Zhang immediately understood, "Ms. Su, don't worry, I'll help you get leave!"
"You can deliberately ask for a few days off."
Mingyao: "..."
She forced Pei Siyu to drag her out of the company and then shoved her into a seat.
His special assistant followed closely behind.
The moment Mingyao sat down, the car started moving.
Her body fell forward due to inertia, and her head hit the chair.
Mingyao gasped, pouted, and rubbed her forehead.
She glared at Pei Siyu with displeasure, a surge of anger burning within her.
The intimidation was inexplicable.
Pei Siyu seemed to sense something and looked in the direction of the gaze.
The moment their eyes met, Mingyao grinned and smiled.
She blinked innocently and asked with a sweet smile, "Mr. Pei, where are we going?"
Pei Siyu glanced at her and said indifferently, "The hospital."
Upon arriving at the city's central hospital, Mingyao allowed Pei Siyu to pull her along for the examination like a puppet.
She underwent every possible test at the hospital, but she was still not satisfied and wanted to book an appointment with a traditional Chinese medicine doctor to take her pulse.
She's not a porcelain doll that will break at the slightest touch.
Mingyao tugged at Pei Siyu's sleeve and said helplessly, "President Pei, I'm fine."
Her eyes crinkled into crescent moons with a smile, her dark pupils seemingly filled with countless stars.
"Did President Pei bring me to the hospital for a checkup because he was worried about me?"
She winked at Pei Siyu and asked with a serious expression.
Pei Siyu remained expressionless, revealing no emotion whatsoever.
Seeing that he ignored her, Mingyao pouted and muttered softly, "Is he mute?"
"What did you say?"
He asked out of the blue.
Mingyao was startled. She explained in a panic, "President Pei, you misheard me. I didn't say anything."
Her smile was gentle and sweet, and no one could find any fault with it.
She had every reason to suspect that Pei Siyu was doing it on purpose.
He wouldn't listen to her questions at all, but he could hear her whispered complaints perfectly.
As Mingyao was complaining in her heart, she suddenly felt a burning gaze.
Her heart skipped a beat, and when she looked up, she met Pei Siyu's deep, dark eyes, which were like an unfathomable black hole.
"President Pei, what's wrong?"
Pei Siyu suddenly leaned his upper body slightly towards Mingyao.
Her heart was in her throat, and she even had to breathe carefully.
Mingyao bit her lower lip, staring intently at Pei Siyu's face as it gradually loomed closer.
When the two were only a fist's distance apart, Pei Siyu asked coldly, "Are you very reluctant to let others know about our relationship?"
This is completely irrelevant.
She shook her head like she was shaking a rattle-drum, "No."
"I'm overjoyed that President Pei has publicly acknowledged my identity."
Pei Siyu raised an eyebrow, his gaze towards her now filled with suspicion.
Her answer was so sincere.
"Then why didn't you explain when you were being difficult by reporters and Mrs. Meng?"
Mingyao cleared her throat, her smile still sweet, "I'm just a nobody, how can I be as direct as President Pei in openly discussing our relationship?"
Pei Siyu's eyes shot out a cold glint that could pierce through everything, making Mingyao's heart pound with anxiety.
To prevent Pei Siyu from noticing anything amiss, Mingyao retorted, "President Pei, you brought me to the hospital for a checkup and then kept asking me why I didn't tell you the truth."
A perfect smile curved her lips, and her eyes shone brightly.
"Do you like me?"
Pei Siyu frowned slightly, his lips pressed into a thin line.
He straightened up and turned his head away without saying a word.
Mingyao secretly breathed a sigh of relief and pressed her advantage by asking more questions.
"President Pei, why aren't you answering me? Are you shy?"
Pei Siyu glared at her, gritting his teeth as he warned, "Don't push your luck!"
Mingyao's smile gradually faded, and her eyes visibly reddened.
Her once clear eyes were now misty with tears.
She brewed tears, which hung in the corners of her eyes, threatening to fall, giving her a pitiful and aggrieved look.
"sorry."
She lowered her head and apologized, her voice choked with emotion: "I was too abrupt and offended President Pei."
