She then added, "Things that are particularly important."

The man was silent for a moment, then said coldly, "Wait for me to go back."

"I..." Mingyao had only uttered one word when the call was cut off.

She paused, looking at her phone with the screen off. "Couldn't you have finished talking before hanging up?"

Why wait for him to come back when we could have just talked things out over the phone?

Mingyao called him again, but the mechanical female voice repeatedly reminded her that no one answered.

Helpless, Mingyao had no choice but to give up.

She is now like a bird trapped in a cage, without freedom.

Half an hour later, the doorbell rang.

Mingyao lay listlessly on the table until the footsteps approached, at which point she turned around.

The man's deep eyes were filled with anxiety, but the moment he met Mingyao's gaze, he reverted to his usual coldness.

Pei Siyu stared at Mingyao's bewildered expression, each word he uttered carrying a chill: "What do you have to say?"

"ah?"

Mingyao's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets: "Did you come all this way back?"

Pei Siyu's face darkened, and he exuded an imposing aura.

"Speak quickly!"

Mingyao pouted, secretly cursing in her heart.

She looked at Pei Siyu with feigned fear and said shyly, "I called you, but you didn't answer."

"Sorry to have made you waste your time coming back."

Pei Siyu's unfathomable eyes reflected Mingyao's frightened expression, his lips pressed into a thin line.

He just stood there, and the temperature around him plummeted to below zero.

Why are you in such a hurry?

Mingyao mentally complained a few times before saying, "Christmas is just around the corner."

"Can you come to City B with me during the Christmas holiday?"

Seeing Pei Siyu's face darken inch by inch, Mingyao quickly explained, "My dad wants you and me to take Su Yao back with us."

She looked at Pei Siyu with a pitiful expression, and pleaded in a soft, whiny voice, "May I?"

She blinked her eyes, feigning a delicate and pitiful demeanor.

Pei Siyu's lips twitched, a hint of mockery in his smile: "Just to take me to City B?"

"Yes."

Meeting Pei Siyu's murderous gaze, Mingyao was completely bewildered.

Otherwise, he would have thought it was something serious.

At this moment, Pei Siyu's face was as black as coal.

His dagger-like gaze swept harshly across Mingyao's face.

"Uh..." Mingyao chuckled awkwardly as she explained, "I was going to tell you over the phone, but you just hung up."

She stared nervously at Pei Siyu; this matter had nothing to do with her.

Blame him for hanging up the phone too quickly.

Pei Siyu suddenly raised his hand, startling Mingyao so much that she closed her eyes and stiffened her neck.

"Su Xueya!"

These three words were almost squeezed out by Pei Siyu through gritted teeth.

Mingyao looked like a frightened little rabbit, her eyes red and pitiful as she gazed at Pei Siyu, who was suppressing his anger.

The next second, there was a loud bang.

Pei Siyu's fist grazed past her ear and slammed hard against the wall.

Mingyao was so startled that her eyes widened as big as walnuts.

"Stay home and behave yourself! Don't go anywhere!"

A cold hand gripped Mingyao's chin, forcing her face up to meet his gaze.

Mingyao still doesn't know what she did wrong, and stares blankly at Pei Siyu's back.

"Honey, are you going to say yes or no?"

Pei Siyu didn't even turn his head.

Mingyao had a headache; Christmas was just a few days away.

"His temper is getting weirder and weirder."

Mingyao didn't even know why he was angry.

The phone suddenly rang, and Mingyao looked at the message sent by Jiang Rongrong.

Jiang Rongrong seems to have a lot of dating experience; she understands men best, so you can't go wrong asking her.

Mingyao typed a long message, thought for a moment, and replaced "I" with "friend".

Just then, the sound of a locomotive engine came from behind.

With a swift and imposing maneuver, Pei Zhao brought his motorcycle to a stylish and domineering stop in front of Ming Yao.
