She noticed that Pei Siyu's ears were burning red and immediately realized what was going on.

It turns out he was just embarrassed.

Mingyao rarely saw this side of Pei Siyu.

She suddenly became interested and wanted to tease Pei Siyu to see his reaction.

Mingyao looked him over as she began peeling fruit.

"Husband~" Mingyao said in a high-pitched, sweet, and sticky voice, which gave her goosebumps.

"Have some fruit."

Mingyao brought a fruit platter to Pei Siyu.

She blinked her big, bright eyes, looking expectantly at the man with the stern face.

Pei Siyu's body was tense, and he looked as if he were frozen on the bed.

Mingyao almost burst out laughing.

She used a toothpick to pick up a piece of mango and brought it to Pei Siyu's lips.

"Honey, open your mouth, I'll feed you."

Pei Siyu stared intently at Ming Yao's face. After eating the mango, he asked, "Su Xueya, did you do this on purpose?"

"ah?"

Mingyao pretended to be naive and looked at him innocently: "Husband, why would I do it on purpose?"

"I promised Madam Pei that I would take good care of you."

She placed the fruit plate on the table. "Would you like some longan?"

Just as Mingyao was about to peel the longan, her wrist suddenly tightened.

She was caught off guard and let Pei Siyu pull her into his arms.

Mingyao's heart skipped a beat, her eyes filled with Pei Siyu's face, which betrayed neither joy nor sorrow.

"You're playing with fire."

Mingyao swallowed and closed her mouth, feeling somewhat regretful.

It seems she really went too far.

The atmosphere around her became increasingly ambiguous, and Mingyao could clearly feel her body temperature rising, to the point that the air she exhaled was scorching hot.

Pei Siyu pressed against her like a wild beast eyeing its prey, making Mingyao's whole body tremble with fear, and she felt like crying but had no tears in her heart.

The knocking on the door came unexpectedly, and Mingyao grasped at it like a lifeline.

"Honey, someone's here."

She avoided Pei Siyu's intense gaze and hurriedly went to open the door.

She had just stood up when Pei Siyu pulled her back down.

"I'm in first."

Jiang Rongrong opened the door and was about to greet them when she saw Mingyao and Pei Siyu embracing each other.

The three of them stared at each other, the atmosphere awkward.

Coming to her senses, Jiang Rongrong coughed twice, "I think I came at a bad time."

She looked at Mingyao meaningfully and said, "Please continue, I'll wait outside."

Mingyao's face burned red. She pressed against Pei Siyu's chest and glared at him fiercely.

Pei Siyu definitely did it on purpose!

She broke free from Pei Siyu's embrace and called out to Jiang Rongrong, "Don't misunderstand, I just..."

She said guiltily, "I fell down."

Jiang Rongrong nodded and looked at Ming Yao with a smile: "Yes, she fell down."

"I have no misunderstanding."

Mingyao clenched her fists, wishing she could find a crack in the ground to crawl into immediately.

To avoid embarrassment, Mingyao forced herself to ask, "Why are you here?"

Jiang Rongrong said irritably, "You're asking me why I'm here!"

Have you forgotten our appointment today?

She handed the nutritional supplements she had brought to Mingyao, pouted, and said unhappily, "If I hadn't seen the news about your accident, I would still be waiting for you now."

Mingyao felt very guilty. "It was an emergency, and I forgot to tell you."

"It's nothing." Jiang Rongrong wasn't angry. She looked Mingyao up and down and breathed a sigh of relief: "As long as you're alright, that's all that matters."

"Oh, right."

Jiang Rongrong glanced at Pei Siyu out of the corner of her eye, then leaned close to Mingyao's ear and asked, "Has your friend's matter been resolved?"

Her voice wasn't low, and Pei Siyu happened to be able to hear it too.

His face darkened visibly, his eyes and tone filled with accusation.

"What friend?"

What problems do you help your friends solve?

Mingyao stammered and couldn't explain clearly; she couldn't very well say that the friend was herself.

Why did you tell me?

Mingyao glared at Jiang Rongrong, and she now had every reason to suspect that Jiang Rongrong was doing it on purpose!

Seeing Mingyao blush and remain silent, Jiang Rongrong asked with concern, "What's wrong? Is the problem worse?"

She stared at Mingyao with an inquisitive look in her eyes.

Mingyao looked embarrassed, so she advised in a heartfelt tone, "You should talk to your friend properly later."

"Tackle any problems promptly, or you'll get sick from bottling them up."

Mingyao grinned, a forced smile on her lips, and replied, "You're right."

"You don't need to be so polite with me." Jiang Rongrong grasped Mingyao's shoulder, glanced in Pei Siyu's direction, and said, "Remember to come to me if you have any relationship problems."

"There's no need to be so polite between friends."

Mingyao forced a smile: "Thank you for making the trip. It's getting late, you should go now."

"Why are you starting to kick people out?"

"Are you hiding something?"

Mingyao suddenly felt a cold glint behind her, and she shivered, feeling like she wanted to die.

She urged Jiang Rongrong to walk forward, not noticing what was ahead.

Jiang Rongrong's attention was also on Ming Yao, and she was completely unaware that she was about to bump into someone.

"oops."

Jiang Rongrong collided with Wang Zhouheng. She stumbled back several steps, lost her balance, twisted her ankle, and fell to the ground.

Wang Zhouheng's situation wasn't much better.

The medicine he was holding scattered all over the ground; he was slightly better off than Jiang Rongrong in that he didn't fall.

He quickly apologized, "I'm sorry."

Jiang Rongrong hissed and gasped, feeling a sharp pain in her ankle.
