After saying that, she quickly left the ward, not lingering for even a moment longer.

Ni An waved her fist in the direction she left, "Zhou Bapi is getting more and more deserving of a beating."

"Just admit you're jealous of Sister Su. What's the point of deliberately stepping on her and throwing mud at her?"

Mingyao didn't care how Zhou Shuya smeared her, as long as she didn't provoke her, everything was fine.

Having lived two lifetimes, Mingyao prefers to live her own life rather than engage in backstabbing and intrigue among her colleagues.

There's no need to argue with Zhou Shuya.

"If a dog bites someone, will the person bite back?" Mingyao advised.

Ni An nodded, "Sister is right."

She leaned closer to Mingyao, her eyes gleaming with gossip, "Sister, tell me the truth."

"Are you having an affair with President Pei?"

Mingyao quickly denied it, "How could I possibly have an affair with him?"

She still felt a little guilty saying this, "I'm already married."

"Besides, you even think I'm having an affair with Pei Zhao," Mingyao teased, dissatisfied. "Do I have some kind of superhuman ability that makes all the men in the Pei family like me?"

"Sister, what a great opportunity!"

Ni An said angrily, "Why didn't you seize the opportunity to climb up to the Pei family?"

"Only a fool like my sister would miss the chance to join the Pei family."

Mingyao coughed lightly twice, "Look at what you're saying."

"Let's not talk about this anymore. Thank you for taking the day off to come see me."

She changed the subject, not daring to continue talking about the Pei family, lest she give herself away.

Secondly, Mingyao felt that her image in Ni An's heart was not quite right.

I have a feeling that she misunderstood something.

Ni An didn't press the matter further, and chuckled while holding Ming Yao's arm, "It's good that you know, sister. As compensation, come shopping with me on Saturday."

"Sister, you can't refuse. You're the only person I can drag along shopping now."

She lowered her head like a wilted eggplant and said weakly, "I don't have many friends."

Mingyao nodded, "I can be discharged tonight, and I'll definitely go with you on Saturday."

In front of the hospital.

Zhou Shuya was standing by the roadside hailing a taxi when she inadvertently noticed a Maybach driving out of the underground parking garage.

Her eyes suddenly lit up, and she jogged forward.

The car came to a sudden stop, and the assistant rolled down the window, glaring at her with a cold face. "Deputy Director, what are you doing?"

Zhou Shuya quickly apologized, "Excuse me for a moment, I have something to say to President Pei."

As she spoke, she took small steps to the car window and knocked on it.

The car window rolled down a crack, and through the crack, Zhou Shuya met Pei Siyu's deep phoenix eyes.

Zhou Shuya's heart was pounding uncontrollably, almost as if it would jump out of her chest.

Under the man's cold gaze, her cheeks and body quickly flushed red, and even the air around her seemed to become scorching.

Zhou Shuya immediately lowered her eyes to avoid Pei Siyu's gaze, and stammered, "President Pei, can you come down?"

What I want to tell you is very important.

Pei Siyu's face was cold and his voice was as cold as ice, "No."

His answer was firm and devoid of any warmth: "I have limited time, so I'll keep it brief."

The few words conveyed a chilling coldness and impatience.

Zhou Shuya suppressed the smile that had been playing on her lips, and felt a sharp pain in her heart.

He would show concern for Mingyao and even carry her in a princess carry.

Yet, when facing oneself, one remains cold, like a sharp icicle that never melts.

Only a career-driven woman like her is worthy of a man as outstanding as Pei Siyu.

Mingyao, a parasitic flower, doesn't even have the right to meet Pei Siyu.

But reality is quite the opposite.

"Zhou Shuya, what do you want to say?"

Pei Siyu's deep voice boomed in her ear, and Zhou Shuya snapped out of her thoughts, "President Pei, Su Xueya has been causing trouble ever since she joined the company."

"This kind of employee is of no benefit to the branch office, so it's better to..."

Before he could finish speaking, Pei Siyu's eyes flashed with a chilling light, like ice picks piercing straight into Zhou Shuya's face. A hint of anger flickered in his icy gaze. "Zhou Shuya, have you already forgotten what you said?"

"No." Zhou Shuya pursed her lower lip and lowered her head. "I'm doing this for Haichang Company's own good."

"Given Su Xueya's troublemaking nature, she'll bring disaster upon the company sooner or later." She said this in one breath, her heart already in her throat.

Pei Siyu scoffed, "Since when have you been so overreaching?"

"What?" Pei Siyu looked at him teasingly, enunciating each word clearly, "Are you going to teach me how to do things?"

Upon hearing this, Zhou Shuya gasped and lowered her head even further, saying, "I wouldn't dare."

"Shut up!"

Pei Siyu lost his patience and interrupted her, his gaze even colder, "There will be no second time."

The few words were like a bucket of ice water poured over Zhou Shuya's head, causing her to shiver involuntarily and lose all color in her face.

She kept her eyes fixed on her toes until the car engine noise completely disappeared.

Why! Why!

Zhou Shuya asked herself this question over and over again.

Pei Siyu would protect Mingyao, that pretty face, and wouldn't listen to her for long.

Zhou Shuya's eyes were bloodshot, and her features became ferocious and terrifying. "Dad, do you see this? This is the person you saved."

"If you knew how it would end, would you still choose to die in his place?"

She raised her head, staring venomously in the direction Pei Siyu had left, her eyes surging with overwhelming hatred.

"Pei Siyu, you forced me to do this!"

She would rather destroy the person she couldn't have than let them fall into someone else's hands!
