The elevator doors opened, and a pregnant woman with a mournful face and a large belly staggered out of the elevator.

Mingyao deliberately moved to the side to avoid her, afraid of bumping into her.

"Ouch."

The pregnant woman had just stepped out of the elevator when she cried out in pain, making Mingyao's heart leap into her throat.

Just as the elevator doors were about to close, she rushed forward and grabbed the swaying pregnant woman.

The pregnant woman's face was deathly pale, and her eyes were filled with terror.

Mingyao exhaled a breath of stale air and asked with concern, "Madam, are you alright?"

The pregnant woman frowned, clutched her stomach, and said with difficulty, "My stomach hurts. Could you please help me to the doctor?"

She held Mingyao's hand tightly, looking very helpless.

Mingyao naturally couldn't stand idly by, so she carefully helped the pregnant woman to the obstetrics and gynecology department.

The pregnant woman looked to be in her thirties or forties, making her an older mother.

Getting pregnant at such an advanced age is indeed not easy.

"Little sister, can you stay with me a little longer?" The doctor took the pregnant woman for a check-up, and the pregnant woman held Mingyao's hand tightly, unwilling to let go.

After calming her down, Mingyao waited in the corridor.

She only entered the ward after the doctor came out.

Mingyao listened patiently to the woman's complaints, occasionally offering a few words of support.

Just as they were getting into the conversation, there was a knock on the door.

"Ruyi, I'm not trying to be mean, but why didn't you call me first before you came to the hospital for a checkup?"

Before the door was even opened, Mingyao heard a familiar voice.

When Madam Wang opened the door and saw the person in the ward, she froze on the spot.

Zhong Ruyi looked at Madam Wang, then at Mingyao, and asked with surprise, "Do you two know each other?"

Mingyao and Madam Wang said in unison, "We know each other."

"Haha, what a small world!"

Zhong Ruyi laughed, her eyes crinkling as she looked at Mingyao. "You still haven't told me your name, how old are you, and whether you're married?"

After putting down the fruit basket, Madam Wang smiled and said, "Don't think about it anymore, Mingyao is already married."

"He looks like he's only in his early twenties, how come he's already married?"

"Sigh, marriage is a tomb."

Mingyao chuckled, "Sister, my husband treats me very well."

"But you, pregnant and still getting so angry over your husband, why bother?"

"If you're unhappy, just get a divorce. It's not worth it."

Madam Wang quickly chimed in, "Yes, I've advised you several times."

"If your husband treats you badly, just get a divorce. Why make things harder for yourself?"

Zhong Ruyi pouted and retorted, "Lina, you're the one talking! Your husband is openly having affairs outside, but you haven't divorced him, have you?"

Wang Lina scoffed, "My husband is different. He may be a womanizer, but he's a decent person."

"Thanks to Mingyao, my husband has turned over a new leaf."

"Our family will go on a trip abroad in a while."

Zhong Ruyi looked envious, sighed, and a hint of bitterness appeared on her face. "When will my husband be able to treat me like your husband?"

The atmosphere in the ward became somewhat heavy. Wang Lina changed the subject, looked at Mingyao, and smiled, "Mingyao, you don't know yet, do you? My younger brother is a doctor at Nanchuan Hospital. If you need any help, you can contact him directly."

Mingyao was both surprised and delighted, "Then I won't be polite!"

She wasn't comfortable letting Su Qiqiang find a caregiver, so she simply asked Wang Zhouheng for help.

With him around, she no longer needed to worry about Ming Suqin!

Wang Lina paused for a moment, then giggled, "Look how happy you are."

"This is Wang Zhouheng's contact information. Give him a call if you need anything."

Mingyao took Wang Zhouheng's business card, her cheeks flushed with excitement. "Thank you, Sister Wang."

After leaving the ward, she couldn't wait to call Wang Zhouheng.

Ten minutes later, the two met on the hospital rooftop.

Wang Zhouheng, wearing a white coat, strode over and said apologetically, "Sorry to keep you waiting."

"It's okay. I contacted you because I want you to do me a favor."

"May I?"

Wang Zhouheng readily agreed, saying, "If it can be resolved at the hospital, just come to me."

Mingyao was secretly delighted and said softly, "I have a friend's family member staying at this hospital. Could you please take a look after them?"

"What room number do you live in? What's your name?"

"Ward 506, Ming Suqin."

Wang Zhouheng frowned slightly. "I remember patient number 506. His physical condition wasn't that bad, but he had been overdosing on medication."

Mingyao curled her hands, gasped, and her eyes widened involuntarily. "An overdose of medication?"

At first, she thought Su Qiqiang was just delaying treatment for Ming Suqin, but she didn't expect that he had been overdosing on medication, which prevented her from waking up.
